Mothers day is always a very profound day for me not because I'm a mother obviously but because all my life I never had a mom who cared about me. For such a long time I wanted to know what it was like to be loved and cared about by my mom, I remember watching t.v. shows or movies and feeling envious of the kids in them whose mom's loved them and cared about them and seeing how those kids took it for granted having no idea what they had. I also never had a dad who cared about me but I didn't mind that so much as I did having a mom.

But then here on cc I gained not one but two moms who gave me what I never had in life and every mothers day I take reverence in the fact that God gave me them. It's kind of selfish really how mothers day to me is really more about me but I have always treasured these two wonderful women who showed me what it is like to be loved and cared about from a motherly love. Lots of people have moms and dads and have no idea what they have, they don't know what it feels like to watch others have these parents who are by far not perfect but love them. In fact to be honest it was specifically because of how unloved and alone that brought me to God to begin with, I remember the very day he came into my heart and I remember the tender love he poured into me I could feel the depth of his affection and endearment he had for me something I had never known and longed for so much.

And then for these two women who had never even met me in real life had adopted me as their own child while my foster mom showed me nothing of any kind of love or care.... They will never know or understand how much it means to me and how precious they both are to me. So to you notmyown (aka psychomom) and to you Jesuslives I want you both to know how precious you both are to me and how I want to grow into a man that will make you both proud.

I will remember her in this way until the day I die and even into eternity, the gift she gave me means so much more than she will ever realize

You have already made her proud Blain. :)
That means a lot to me I hope I can continue to make her proud, more than anything I want to make father proud too. He was the first to show me the love I never had and he is also the first in my heart

That's awesome that you found other mother's to replace what you didn't get from your own, brother. I adopted one of my mother's-in-law as my mother after my real mother died some years ago. There are many women of God that I look up to as surrogate mother's. Praise God for blessed women of God that mother Lost boys like us!

I let other mom know about this. She's been a bit under the weather, so give her some time to see. (Didn't want you to think she's ignoring you.)

When my mother and father forsake me, then the Lord will take me up - Psalm 27:10

God has mothered me, and fathered me all my life. A long time ago, I made a list of the things I did not receive from both mother and father. I prayed that list and asked that He restore to my spirit the things that were missing from my childhood. I based it on the above verse.

He absolutely did just that. I feel as if I always had the loving and nurturing that I needed. So, I no longer speak of what I didn't get. He completely restored my soul. There is no longer a void in my heart.

Blain, I have watched you grow and change and mature over the last years, and I think that besides the two moms and God, you have to give yourself some credit. You always accepted responsibility and were open to correction. And I am so glad God gave you the moms you never had.

Sometimes, moms are not all they are cracked up to be. I never had the mom I wanted, but I did have a grandmother and a lot of aunts who filled in. They were all godly women, and they become my models as a mom. In this life, we cannot control the circumstances we are handed, but we can control our attitude. You have chosen to not become embittered, but instead, in following Christ, you have been given love, and loved in return.

God bless you, I know God will continue to help you grow closer to him and to others.

Wow that means a lot coming from you Angela I have always had great respect for you. Yes it's true we don't get to choose the circumstances in life but we do get to choose how it affects us and how we handle it.

Dear Blain, I have to agree with Angela. You need to give yourself some credit, too. You are so gracious with your compliments to God and your "moms" which is truly heartwarming and inspiring for us other "moms". Yet, as a mom, I also recognize the hard work you must have put into your new life in Christ. You inspire me! Blessings and prayers to you today.

You have no idea how beautiful it is to me how heartwarming it was to you and how I inspired you, as a Christian the one thing I have always had the most joy in is God using me to inspire others
