He's the one. I was very pleased to discover that he now has a beard...and a wife! You never can tell these days...

Oh yeah. He's unrecognizable. Granted, so is most of the TNG cast these days.

Counselor Troi is strangely better looking now because she dropped the frizzy wig.

On second thought, and upon some research, I won't. I'm the one who first saw Finding Nemo as an adult while babysitting...and had to leave the room because it was too tense :rolleyes:.

If that is the case, you would definitely want to skip out on this one. In my earlier teens, it was one of only two or three movies that made me cry. Every time.

It's a sad state of affairs, but there it is. I just don't watch scary movies, because I prefer not to take out the change in bad dreams. Although, I do have one of the kindest brothers who will screen the film beforehand and tell me when to leave :eek:

Gladiator's rated R, so... :rolleyes:

Its definitely not for the squeamish.. I usually laugh at stuff that makes people squeamish but Gladiator was pretty intense even for me.. :rolleyes:

The funny thing is...I totally shoot, disembowel, and butcher all kinds of animals on a regular basis. There should be no reason at all why I should be squeamish. But show a drop of blood or so much as one tense scene on the silver screen and I'm outta there.

I'm a writer and I'm told I should love all things Austin.

I don't. I reeaally don't. I don't like anything she's written. Most of all, I hate what it has contributed to the psychological aspects of relationship driven humans everywhere. Mostly women.

And don't bother with the "strong woman" stuff, because in the end, the female gets her man. The books are just well written romance novels.

Now that I have alienated everyone... what's up, buttercup?

Her writing style reminds me of certain Dostoevsky translations.

So to me, she's like Dostoevsky without the existential musings, trippy dream sequences, and occasional bouts of violence.

That is Dostoevsky with all the Dostoevskyness sucked out of the story in exchange for banal romance tropes.

Nice reference! Although English literature and Russian literature are in completely different galaxies, I see your point.

Well the gory stuff doesn't really bother me, with Gladiator its more like ummm.... you know how the nazis did unspeakable things to people? Its not the gore, but the context of what takes place... And with that said... there are at least two scenes that I can pretty much guarantee will give you nightmares... Remember... it was the romans who invented crucifixion.. their cruelty knew no bounds.. :rolleyes:
