Just so people have an idea of what keeping the Sabbath looks like and all the other laws.

Here's a not so commonly known Sabbath Scripture:
Ex. 35:2-3 “For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, ba sabbath of complete rest to the LORD; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. “You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath day.

This is of course created a lot of questions! What does it mean to kindle a fire? So just to give you an idea.

Here's an example of some Jewish writings because when you try to keep the "letter of the Law" a lot of problems and questions arise. One of the questions were, well, what is considered work? Is it work to bake, is it work to start a fire (how do we stay warm, how about working on clothing, how about playing games with kids, etc.)

So additional books were written.

Here's the definition of acts of work (or labor) as recorded in the Mishnah Shabbat 7:2:

The principal acts of labor (prohibited on the Sabbath) are forty less one—viz.: Sowing, ploughing, reaping, binding into sheaves, threshing, winnowing, fruit-cleaning, grinding, sifting, kneading, baking, wool-shearing, bleaching, combing, dyeing, spinning, warping, making two spindle-trees, weaving two threads, separating two threads (in the warp), tying a knot, untying a knot, sewing on with two stitches, tearing in order to sew together with two stitches, hunting deer, slaughtering the same, skinning them, salting them, preparing the hide, scraping the hair off, cutting it, writing two (single) letters (characters), erasing in order to write two letters, building, demolishing (in order to rebuild), kindling, extinguishing (fire), hammering, transferring from one place into another. These are the principal acts of labor—forty less one.
These are "traditions of man" Cee. I think it is a mistake to treat them as if they are Word's of God. The Pharisees or Jews who were rejected did not follow God's Commandments, but had created their own. Jesus said so and I believe in Him.

Matt. 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

This is not taught in Mainstream Christianity today, just like Mercy and Judgment was not taught by the Mainstream God of Abraham preaching people of Christ's time.

it's a general rule

Exodus 20: 10. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates

of course, if Jesus tells you to do something, then it's lawful

that's true for all the commandments
So then you just made up the law that it is unlawful for Jesus to heal a cripple on the Sabbath, and that the healed Cripple isn't allowed by the God of Abraham to carry his crutch or bed back to his home.

Or maybe you didn't make it up, but you believed some random preacher who told you it was unlawful.

I think we should study the Book with an open mind, and let God show us what is lawful and what is not, instead of listening to "men who come in His Name", which Jesus and His Friends warned about so many times.

I have studied the Word for many years and still can not find where it is either unlawful for Jesus to heal a man on His Sabbath, or for that healed man to carry his crutch or bed back to his home.

it is God who said "You shall not do any work in it"

it doesn't talk about going to the grocery store either

but if Jesus tells you to go to the grocery store on Saturday morning, then do it

just like if he told you to carry your mattress

"However to generalize "work" is not accurate, if we are truly looking to Him, we would do just that. What He did on the Sabbath was righteousness, the will of YHWH, not watch football or mow the lawn..."

Jesus told the man to carry his sleeping Matt on the Sabbath and to travel (to leave his place)

since Jesus told him to do it, it isn't his own work

it's Jesus's

what is Jesus telling you to do today?
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever"

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

I think it is a mistake to side with the servants of satan regarding the Sabbath Jesus created for man, or anything else.

It was the Word which became Flesh that healed the cripple, not the Pharisees.

When Jesus comes back in all His Glory just to tell you to go to the grocery story on His Sabbath, you get back with me and we can discuss it then.

Until that time we should follow the instructions of the Word which became Flesh.

As you can not find a Law against Jesus healing a cripple on His Sabbath, nor can you find a Law against this same cripple taking his belongings and going home after he was healed, I suggest you might consider that it wasn't Jesus who was the sinner and rejecter of God's Instructions, rather, the Mainstream Preachers of His time who were "Teaching for Doctrines the Commandments of Men", Not of God.

Matt. 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

only a pharisee type would call traveling or carrying their bed on the Sabbath a "work"

There is not Law in the "OT" limiting the distance one can travel on the Sabbath, "a SAbbath \day's jopurney" is based off man made rabbinical/pharisee law.

that man carrying his bed was in direct violation of said man made law, that is why Yahshua tolod him to do it. You see EVERY, that is EVERY SINGLE miracle Yahshua did he also transgressed the pharisees/rabbis man made law called the "talmud" but many have no clue of this and think for eaxample because in Acts is says "Sabbath day's journey" that it us actually a law, search the Scriptures, you will not find a siungle passage, what you will find is something not related that the pharisees claim as their basis for their own imaginative law. Just like they do with the whole word.... make up their own understanding rather than accept what YHWH says.

Jesusdoesn't have to come back in all His Glory*to speak to our hearts

John 16: 13. However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. 14. He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you.

it doesn't say how heavy his mattress was, or how far his house was

the law says people are supposed to stay in their place on the Sabbath

What is "my place"? Didn't Jesus answer that?

9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

Whose Will was it that the Cripple be healed? Was it not God's? Who brought him to a place where Jesus could heal him? Was it not God? So how can you imply that the Cripple wasn't in "his place"?

I am home today, am I in "my place"? I was stranded last year for 3 days when a storm cancelled my flight and I was forced to stay in a motel through the Sabbath. Was I still in "my place".

Did the Word which became Flesh say the following?

Is. 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Where can this be done? Did Jesus designate a certain geographical region where I must be in order to follow His instructions here?

Are we not all crippled before we know Jesus?

Matt. 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Luke 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

What is the difference between what Jesus told these people, and what He told the Cripple?
