Absolutely - we shall pray for him! But, I will not wait for the tree with flowers, I will seek the face of my Father now in time for His interaction to have due diligence in saving your sibling and family member; your brother. Yes, we will pray in confidence and peace and even in His rest, but to pray is to pray otherwise it is not prayer.
I am very sorry for his struggle and lack of freedom in Christ. And, as a father of three boy's who also go down the path of the world, I understand the plight of family who have the heart of Christ in these matters. My sympathy is turned to empathy as I too experience a need to prayer for my three sons as well.
Establishing boundaries is a discipline. Impulse is all right in a child, but it is disastrous in a man. Impulse has to be trained into intuition by discipline. And all us Christians look at the lost and say "How, God will this come to be in the life of the one we love?"
The paradox is that the things your brother tends to resist the most - (limits, boundaries, rules, and restrictions) - are the very things he needs the most in order to experience real freedom. This kind of resistance is like trying to jump the fence without realizing that the Grand Canyon waits on the other side. He won’t ever know the terrors he's escaped when he finds true freedom inside God’s boundaries. But then again, we know by his drug use he doesn't want to know these terrors.
When he understands that true freedom requires restraints, he will see that God doesn’t establish boundaries just to see if you can be a good boy and follow the rules. Instead, He gives him boundaries to keep him and even you, his loved ones, safe from moral and spiritual calamity. He has not had the revelation yet that these things God will give him will help him be a faithful husband, dad, and man of God. He put His Lordship there to help him, and us all, experience the truly abundant life Jesus came to give.
Ok, so then we add on the meth consequences as well, and this can cause health issues and death ill regardless of the sinfulness of death found in it. So, let us pray for God to answer our question of "How, Lord?" For, I know my Father, and His Word promises us that all things are possible thru those who love the Lord, and that all things will turn out for good who love Him as well. But we have to pray to defeat the enemy here, we need to pray to fortify our will alongside the Lord's in this case, and to ask God for His power and faithfulness to be heightened and executed with due diligence for your brothers sake and for God's glory to be seen in this life.
"Dear heavenly Father, we don't even begin to think we can change Heart_Melodies brother, but what we ask is that Your Sovereignty and powerful and faithfulness be given due diligence to her brother; even thru her and her family. Love on him Lord, and give him a foothold to your victorious ground. You loved me first, and You loved Melody first - help him reach for You over sinfulness and bring him to his dead end in the meth and in his quest to find his own life over losing it for Your name sake, as You love him first.
I ask you to give Heart_Melodies family and herself Your vision to help him, empower them to be of good news and to be productive in Your will accordingly. Help them in the specifics, but also Lord as you establish their steps, also go into the heart of her brother and knock all the more due to our prayers. We believe in Your power and love Lord, and we ask you to help him come to You, we believe in Your power and Might, and we Thank You for answering our prayers - in Jesus' Name - Amen."
Be of good cheer Sister, for the Lord is capable and He loves him dearly. Your brother is in danger, but God can draw all men to Himself. Let us lift Jesus up to him. I will continue to pray for him, let us know how it goes ok? I want to praise the Lord as well. God knows that the value of our work depends on whether we can direct men to Jesus Christ, so He will give you strength as well, I pray you too be graced up for that mission.
A Scripture came to mind just now, that I will leave you in encouragement:
"They that wait upon the Lord ... shall walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31). This is beyond all of us to accomplish, but it is the Lord who can do it, lay it at His feet and seek His face, and have no doubts, and He will answer your prayers, even as your brother may go thru worse times before he breaks his slavery to sin. May God richly bless you today I pray.
