Toys R Us closing down depresses me. I was already down because the one on Times Square closed and it was my favorite spot in New York

I feel the same! I remember the big fat catalog every Christmas and picking from each page a different toy we wanted. I wish I still had one of those catalogs from the 90s.
I got one like two years ago just to see it and it was so thin!

“If you are alone you belong entirely to yourself. If you are accompanied by even one companion you belong only half to yourself, or even less, in proportion to the thoughtlessness of his conduct; and if you have more than one companion you will fall more deeply into the same plight.” - Leonardo da Vinci

I dunno... When I'm with my friends and family, just hanging out and chatting and probably eating, it seems each of us has more of ourselves when we share ourselves with each other than we do when we're alone. But maybe that's just me.

But that quote reminds me of a song on an album my mother used to have.

The first verse is basically what the singer feels her friends are saying to her, and the chorus (I quit, I give up, nothing's good enough for anybody else...) is her response to it.

When my birthday is on Wednesday and apparently, my boyfriend and my friends are in cahoots with each other to do a lot for me.

As much as I love surprises, the suspense is KILLING ME.

We have a light mist, and it's chilly tonight.

I like it in the summer, when it's been warm and clear all day. That cool breeze comes in, and the evening storm starts.

I have discovered other people who believe in faerie and they were brilliant geniuses and NOT mad. Tolkien had a leprechaun shoe and Walter de la Mare wrote to his friend Barfield that de la Mare wanted to see a dryad before he died. Lewis believed all the myths were real and possibly living on other planets. This is quite heartening to me.

Edgar Cayce believed in them too and claimed to have spoken with them when he was a young boy. He's famous for predicting things with great accuracy (but he wasn't a prophet).

I’m not much interested in men who have back up women, and I’m certainly not interested in being a back up woman. I’m not much good at singing. Men who keep women hanging about just in case the woman they are currently interested in don’t respond, are much too cautious when it comes to matters of the heart. It is like keeping a spare flashlight or spare tire or spare helmet or spare anything. It rather reduces a woman to a thing and not a person. Something replaceable.

I’ve never heard of him, I’ll have to look him up. Thanks

How do you wash pillows without getting lumps? I've looked online and I've tried all that...still get lumps.
I got new pillows a few months ago...I really want to wash them but I'm afraid. I hate lumpy pillows.

Have you tried washing them by hand?
