If Lucifer is not an ancient Babylonian king then who is Lucifer?
Venus. Its a Latin word that has no business in a Hebrew text.

This was figurative language employed by the king of Babylon, as this king was boasting of his greatness. It's like Muhammed Ali saying he is the greatest of all time.
Look, you asked me who Lucifer was, and I showed you it is the planet Venus. Lucifer came from Jerome's Latin Vulgate. It got inserted by Erasmus when he translated it into the Greek text that later the KJV translators used.
Lucifer was even attributed to Venus by Plato.
None of that is about a literal king of Babylon, all of Isaiah 13 and 14 is about the day of the Lord.
And the day of the Lord is a future event, as I previously posted.

Every whit of this is about Lucifer, the morning star, the king of Babylon. In vss 13,14, the king gloated about his own greatness, and expressed it with figurative language.

Then there's 2 Peter 3:10, 1 Thess. 5:2, 2 Thess. 1:1-4. The day of the Lord is a future event and not in Isaiah 14:13,14.

What part of Isaiah 13 and 14 are you not understanding, the entirety of both chapters is about the day of the Lord.

Ok so now you've changed it to the planet Saturn fell from heaven and is going to say:

Isaiah 14:13,14 is figurative language. The day of the Lord is coming in the future. Why would Paul warn the Thessalonican church about the false teaching that the day of the Lord was already past?
Lucifer is used ONCE in the whole bible, and not once in the NT, and ppl get in a tizzy when shown that Lucifer is not another name for Satan.
The word should have never been used. Its from Latin. It has no business in a Hebrew text.
Saturn? Where did I say Saturn? Lucifer is the planet Venus. I showed you where even Plato called the planet Venus Lucifer.

I've noticed that everything you disagree with turns into figurative language. It doesn't matter what the bible actually says.
The context of Isaiah 14:1-14 is about the king of Babylon. We all use figurative language.
"If I've told you once, I've told you a million times." No, we haven't told them a literal 1,000,000 times. Jesus also called Himself the 'Door of the sheep', but He never had any hinges or doorknobs on Him.
Jerome inserted Lucifer, a LATIN word, into a HEBREW text, that had no business being there. Then Erasmus incorporated into his Greek text and then the KJV translators inserted it into the KJV.

The day of the Lord is not figuraitve, Isaiah 13 and 14 are describing the day of the Lord.

Was there a particular reason that you quoted this particular verse in this particular thread?
God did translate His words immediately into other languages in Acts 2... and I would assert confidently that such is not His normal method for translating (and further, that was not a translation of His written word). If it were His normal method, why would Wycliffe Bible Translators exist? Why would Wycliffe himself, Tyndale, Luther, and all other translators have had to work diligently at translating? Why would there still be people groups without a Bible in their own language?
I see no conflict with 2 Timothy 2:15, which is always possible because someone who does not have a Bible in their native language can learn another language in which a Bible is available.
