The fact is that nowhere in the New Testament are we specifically taught to observe the Sabbath day. Strange if it holds the importance given by some
Well that has no truth in it whatsoever. Where does it say in the entire bible that Gods' 4th Commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep the Catholic tradition of Sunday Worship?

It does say that the WHOLE covenant has been set aside and thus Sabbath observance with it.

Go and read Galatians chapter 3, and, even better, try reading the whole book of Romans instead of just posting individual verses that you think make your case...

New covenant believers are NOT subject to the demands of the Sinaitic covenant!

Now it doesnt. It says that there is a NEW Covenant. It does not say God's LAW is NOT in the NEW Covenant. That is like saying Jesus and all the writers of the NEW TESTAMENT are lying.

If your belief was true why does does Jesus and the apostles teach the opposite of your belief?

Jesus taught the 10 commandments…..

1. Jesus kept God’s Law (10 commandments) and said the Law and the prophets would not pass away (Matt 5:17-18)
2. Jesus taught others to follow the 10 commandments (Mark 10:17-21)
3. Jesus taught that Love is the fulfilling (doing) of God’s Law (10 commandments Matt 22:36-40)
4. If we break God’s Law by following man-made traditions we are not following God (Matt 15:3-9)
5. Jesus says if we commit sin we are a servant of sin and he has come to free us from sin (John 8:32-36)
6. Jesus taught if you love God you will keep God’s Law and abide in His Love (John 14:15; 15:10
7. If anyone is breaking any of God’s commandments and teaching others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven <least = lost> (Matt 5:19)
8. No one can obey God’s Law producing the fruit of obedience of ourselves and unless we abide in Jesus we can do nothing (John 15:4-10)

4. Paul asks that gentiles consider the doctrine of LAW "Do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we establish the Law of God" Rom 3:31
5. Paul tells ALL Christians that it is only the lost who will "not subject themselves to the Law of God neither indeed CAN they" Rom 8:6-8
6 Paul reaches all Christians under the NEW Covenant that God's LAW as known in Jer 31:31-33 is "written on the heart and mind" Heb 8:7-11
7. Paul tells all Christians that the OT text is to be used for Doctrine 2Tim 3:16
AND He never claims that "if I did not write it -- it is not scripture for us today" -- as one or two have imagined for us.
8. Paul tells all Christians that the 5th commandment is the "FIRST commandment with a promise" Eph 6:1-2 and is binding on all Christians.
9. God's Law (10 commandments) are holy, just and good (Rom 7:12)
10. God's Law gives us a knowledge of what sin is (Rom 3:20; 7:7)
11. The penalty of breaking God's Law without Jesus is death (Rom 6:23)
12. If we break God's Law we dishonor God (Rom 2:23)
13. If we sin we are "under the Law" and guilty before God (Rom 3:19)
14. We are saved by faith but our faith establishes the Law in us (Rom 3:31)
15. If we are saved by grace we should not break God's Law (Rom 6:1-7)
16. We should not break God's Law if we are under grace (Rom 6:15)
17. We are to serve the Law of God through the mind because that is where sin starts (Rom 6:17; 7:25; 8:4; 12:2)
18. It is God's Law that brings us to Jesus (Gal 3:24)
19. God's salvation frees us from sin so we can be obedient to God's Law and live a life of holiness (Rom 6:22)
20. We will be judged by God's Law and only those that are obedient will be justified because of their faith (Rom 2:4-13)

John affirms the 10 commandments……

1. John says it is only by keeping God’s 10 commandments that we know that we know God (1 John 2:3)

8. If someone is committing unrepentant sin they are following the devil and not God (1 John 3:7)
9. If you are born of God and abiding in him you will not commit sin (1 John 3:9; 1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10
10. It is the keeping of God’s commandments that is the difference between those that are following God and those that are not following God (1 John 3:10; 1 John 5:3)

10 God is not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance and turn away from sin to follow God’s 10 commandments because those that do not will receive the judgements of God (2 Pet 3:5-14)

What did Jesus and the Apostles teach about the Sabbath in the New Testament?

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)

Only God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE another.

Seems like Jesus and the Apostles disagree with you GNP.

.......................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

.......................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

Repeating a lie over and over again will never make it the truth!

Meeting on Sunday was NEVER initiated by the RCC.
Constantine never inititiated it either.
None of the first church fathers initiated it either but they did record its reality.

The New Testament does however record it:
Acts 20:7
1 Cor 16:1-2

And the Apostle John is the first use the phrase "the Lord's Day" in Rev 1:10.
If this was the Sabbath he surely would have said so....

Your insistence on perpetuating lies in this fashion does little for your already ragged credibility!

That is what believers do.

Sunday worship is a teaching and tradtion introduced into christianity by the Roman Catholic Church that has let many to break God's 4th Commandment. ).
It is well documented that the early church adopted Sunday as their day of worship. Acts 20:7 speaks of this, "On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people …" and 1 Corinthians 16:2, "On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made."

Constantine, following scripture, made a day of rest official. The commandment has not been broken and you are making an issue, where no issue exists. What you are doing is belittling Christianity, which is something no true Christian would do.

Absolutely, learn from your mistakes and BELIEVE and FOLLOW the WORD of God. UNBELIEVERS have no part in God's KINGDOM.
Really....
Are you that desperate?

Everything I said is independently verifiable.
Nothing that you said about the origins of Sunday worship is independently verifiable!

I am not the one who is lying here....

Also my eternal security lies purely in the blood of Jesus Christ - I am saved by grace through faith.
I am not saved by slavish devotion to a cult sold on a mantra of salvation by works that well describes the SDA's

I make no claim to perfection, but my salvation is purely on the merits and works of Jesus Christ - not my own!

Indeed the religious teachers in the days of Jesus told everyone that Jesus had a devil and it was independently veriefied. Only God's WORD is true and we shoulf BELIEVE and FOLLOW him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE another.

Obviously you are out of your depth here.
If you are trying to say something coherent and logical here you have utterly failed...

None of the first church fathers initiated it either but they did record its reality.

The New Testament does however record it:
Acts 20:7
No mention of the Sabbath or that they came together to worship. To assume they were or to assert it is to add to the word of GOD.
1 Cor 16:1-2
No mention of the Sabbath or that they came together to worship there either. To assume they were or to assert it is to add to the word of GOD.

And the Apostle John is the first use the phrase "the Lord's Day" in Rev 1:10.
If this was the Sabbath he surely would have said so....
And if it was to take the place of the Sabbath he surely would of said so.
To say that the Lord's Day here refers to the 1st day of the week or the Sabbath is subjective at best if rely on Revelation alone.

However if one was to rely on the rest of the Holy Bible; on solo Scripture. Then one would conclude that John's intent was, that the day in which he called the Lord's Day was the Sabbath. Because Jesus proclaimed in his ears to be Lord of the Sabbath. (Matthew 12:1-8, Mark 2:23-28 and Luke 6:1-5)

If through Jesus' own words He lay claim to a specific day, then certainly that day he is Lord of is the Lord's Day not the first day of the week.

No Let me help. He compared you to the teachers of Jesus' day. You see They mocked and ridiculed Jesus who spoke the Word of GOD also. Quoted Scripture out of context to prove their point. Even went as far as to say he had a devil.

They were wrong. We do not need false teachers on a Christian forum.

How ridiculous1
Why would there be any reference to the Sabbath?
It was the FIRST day of the week - not the Sabbath!

I am not adding to the word of God - nice try though!
I will let those texts speak for themselves...

As you say, Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. So keep HIS day Holy!

Jesus rose on the first day of the week not the Sabbath: Mk 16:9

All 6 appearances of Jesus happen on two Sundays, none on Sabbath. Mk 16:9; Mt 28:5-9; Lk 24:34; Lk 24:13-15; Lk 24:33,36 + Jn 20:19; Jn 20:26

Christians are recorded assembling three times on Sunday after resurrection and before ascension, never on the Sabbath. Jn 20:19 Jn 20:26 Acts 2:1 (We do not claim that these were worship services, just the early starting point of Sunday gatherings)

The only time Christians are recorded to have assembled together was on a Sunday in Acts 20:7, never does it say the disciples assembled on the Sabbath.

The only day ever mentioned when Christians broke bread was on Sunday: Acts 20:7

Christians are commanded every Sunday to give into a common treasury of the church: 1 Cor 16:1-2

Jesus was declared the Son of God on Sunday: Rom 1:4

Ps 2:7 "Today I have begotten thee" was fulfilled on Sunday when he rose: Acts 13:33

The sign that Jesus was glorified was given on Sunday: Jn 7:39 + Acts 2:1,32

The church officially began on Pentecost Sunday: Acts 2:1

Jesus was crowned king on a Sunday: Acts 2:33-36

The disciples reception of the promise of the Father on Sunday: Acts 1:4-5; 2:1-4

The Holy Spirit first fell upon the apostles on a Sunday: Acts 2:1-4

Salvation first preached by Peter on Sunday: Mt 16:19; Acts 2:1,38,40-41

The Keys to the Kingdom of God were first used on Sunday: Mt 16:19

The great "Triumphal entry" (also called "Palm Sunday") happened on the first day: Luke 13:32

The time between the Lord's resurrection (sheaf waving day) and Pentecost was Sunday to Sunday counting of 50 days. The starting and stopping time was on the 1st day.

First time Jesus worshipped after resurrection was on the first day by Thomas (Jn. 20:26).

The first time we could be born again to a living hope was on a Sunday: 1 Pet. 1:3

The first time Jesus had communion after his resurrection with His disciples, was on a Sunday: (Lk. 24:1, 13, 28-35)

Pentecost was a Sunday - Sunday duration of 50 days. The starting point and stopping point of counting the 50 days was a Sunday - Sunday period!

Pentecost was a Sunday - Sunday duration of 50 days. The starting point and stopping point of counting the 50 days was a Sunday - Sunday period!
And yet not ONE of those scriptures you quoted PS tell us that God's 4th Commandment is now abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day.
