the scripture is God's word, but some time you change

for example colossians 2:14

Colossians 2:14 King James Version (KJV)

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

it say Blotting out the handwriting of ordinance

you change to

blotting out the Moses handwriting of ordinance.
studydude will come also and change 'sabbath' to 'not any real sabbath but only fake sabbaths that are not and never have been real sabbaths at all'
and then he will change '
law' to 'not any real law but only fake laws that are not and never have been real laws at all'

so i ask him about new moon festivals, does that also mean '
not any real new moon but only fake new moons that are not and never have been new moons at all' ?
because this doesn't make sense to me; the moon is in the sky all this time where everyone can see it, how can anyone have a fake phase of the moon? it would be amazing news if that is true! but he will not answer me. for months, i ask. he won't answer. he gives me a snake instead of a fish, and it makes me sad :(

hundreds of pages to tell us the scripture doesn't actually mean what it actually says! and we're still not convinced! wow this kind of education takes a long time ;)
but Christ will convict everyone of the truth, and to Him time is like nothing, clay in His hand if He purpose it to be. He is faithful to finish what He began :)

hey how about click here --

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Therefore

do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

These are a shadow of the things that were to come;
the reality, however, is found in Christ.

i guess if a person were to have a really confused, perverted misunderstanding of Colossians 2, they might obviously think i'm 'making it up as i go along'

Robinson's morphological analyze codes states this on the Dative (indirect object, "to"; also location "in", "at"; instrument, "with")

So with all that is above, one can clearly see that it should be translated "Handwriting to the ordinances" and not the "handwriting of ordinances".

Not one jot is removed. Not one tittle.

But God has made a way, it is the cross of Christ, upon which we died and were thereby set free from condemnation, no longer under law: thereby 'all things are lawful for me' because whoever has died is no longer liable to the law
The Word for Sabbath in Col 2:16 is plural.
Verse 16 starts with the word therefore. Which keeps it in context to verse 14.

Having blotted out the handwriting to the ordinances that is against us, that was contrary to us, and he hath taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

It is the Sabbaths that were of the handwriting to the ordinances. The ordinances are the Decalogue and those Laws contained in the Book of the Law that showed us what righteousness is.
The handwriting to them that were against us and contrary to us, were those laws pertaining to when we sinned not those laws that showed us what righteousness is.

As was said the Context brings us to the handwriting to theordinances that were against us, not the ordinances themselves and certainly not the Decalogue. Not all the handwriting to the ordinances were against and contrary to us. Most of that which is contained in the Book of the Law pertain to what righteousness is. They describe the Character of GOD and HIS Christ. They are of the New Covenant. Who we are through HIM through HIS Spirit; HIS Word, His Law; HIS Christ being in our hearts, minds and mouths so we do it.

Paul is not addressing the Decalogue in Colossians. He is writing of the Book of the Law and only those writings in it that were against us and contrary to us. Those writings that dealt with when we sinned.

Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God,
that it may be there for a witness against thee.

yep, real law is love

do not steal,

the real spirit of do not steal is love, because if you love other, you not steal from.

the real rest or sabbath is in Jesus, only in Jesus we are free from worry

people may close his office on Saturday but his mind full of worry how to pay the bill, debt etc.

10 commandment and all law is fulfill in those 2 command

[h=1]Matthew 22:37-40 King James Version (KJV)[/h]37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

one of SDA dude ask, if you not use 10 commandment anymore, do you believe it is ok for Christian to rape?

No, we use love your neighbor like yourself, that mean not ok to rape.

you change o
blotting out the Moses handwriting of ordinanc.
you also say that you not kill sabbath violator because you call to love.
it mean you accuse God call Jews to ha .
Now Jackson,

Really? You want to say the same thing over and over, despite all the scriptures sent to help you? Neither will you even try to address all the scriptures sent you but you choose to completely ignore and reject all the scripture sent to you?

It is ok dear I will leave this now between you and God. You are free to choose and believe what you like.

Even in this post that you write here, it only shows you have not read the posts I have sent you.

If you did read the posts that were sent you then you would know through the scriptures sent to you that God did not write the ORDINANCES, Moses wrote them. God wrote the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20:3-17).

Dear, how can you discuss the Word of God when you do not KNOW God's Word and when God's Word comes, you choose to reject it? This is your decision and you are free to do this if you wish to after all it is your salvation and no one elses.

Jesus says; If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

However, If we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries (Hebrews 10:26-27).

You have a knowledge of the truth now dear. What you choose to do with that knowledge now I will leave between you and God.

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

.......................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

Indded for those who have repented of their SINS. CONFESSED and FORSAKEN THEM. Those that are still in their SINS do not know God because their SINS separate them from God.

Prov 28:13 He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

1 John 2
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 36,
Whoever stays in him sins not: whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.
7,
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

Isaiah 59:2,
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

is this one of the commandments you keep if you know God?

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

4*But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

1st John 2, talking about command keeping, is NOT referring to the 10/ Sabbath. that is a pure lie. in the 3rd chapter, John says believe in the name of the Son, and love one another. plain as day context.

now, the sda/ Hebrew roots crowd will try to spin this back to Sinai, as they do everything, but belief in the Lord Jesus Christ saves, not keeping the jewish ( given to jews only ) Sabbath, no matter what they say.

Please use bible verses to back up what you are saying. LGF is using God's word, bible verses to back up every point he makes and many of you are saying that it's wrong, or twisted but don't give anything to back up your points. There are many shades of grey and you can say truth comes in many forms as well, but if i have to choose a bible based truth, which explanation should i follow? The explanation based on the word of God. God's word is being used by LGF to reason and a lot of you are using your own reasoning to disprove him.

Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Psa_119:105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Isa_8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Joh_17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
it is possible to quote a bible verse
and state a conclusion
and have the conclusion not follow from the verse

example
Ecclesiastes 12: 6. Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. - Bible Offline

don't use golden bowls, they break

Yes, and it is not only temple prostitution that is not edifying.

Paul always shows both sides on the argument. He will say on the one hand, it is like this, but on the other hand this is how it is, and depending on which side of the fence you are, people will quote whatever suits their point of view. This is why we get people only quoting one or two verses, because in the subsequent verses Paul shows the right way. In this example the wrong way is to go with Plato who said "everything is permissible etc....." rather than with Paul who closes the discourse a few verses further on by saying, "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1Co 10:31)
i agree you certainly have a valid possible interpretation

and we both definitely agree with this
whether you eat or drink,*or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

mosr people really want to do what the bible says

that's why i hope that real discussion can start at some point, so we can compare what we each think the spirit is telling us

i remember reading that the definite article in Greek is similar to English, but not the same

so it doesn't always translate one to one

Hello gb9,

Your words have no truth in them because you speak of yourself and your words are not God's Words.

The Context of 1 John 3 is SIN which the Word of God says is breaking ANY of God's 10 Commandments. Showing how that this is the difference between God's people (not practicing sin) and the children of the devil (practicing sin).

1 JOHN 3:23 CONTEXT

Here is the CONTEXT you leave out of your scriptures which is about SIN. As mentioned from the start SIN will keep all those who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

1 JOHN 2
3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4,
He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

If your faith has no FRUIT your tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire. SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

THE CONTEXT of 1 John 3 is those who SIN (BREAK GOD'S COMMANDMENTS) and those who do not...

1 JOHN 3
3,
And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whoever COMMITS SIN TRANSGRESSES ALSO THE LAW: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW
5, And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, WHOEVER ABIDES IN HIM SINS NOT: whoever SINS HAS NOT SEEN HIM, NEITHER KNOWS HIM.

Here you have that reference John is talking about earlier repeated in emphasis in 1 John 2:3-4 [3], And hereby we do know that we know him, if wekeep his commandments. [4], He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

7, Little children, LET KNOW ONE DECEIVE YOU: he that DOES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, even as he is righteous.

What is righteousness? PS 119:172 My tongue shall speak of your word: for all your commandments are righteousness.Yep we are definately talking about God's 10 Commandments. SIN is breaking God's Commandments (1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7; James 2:8-11; Romans 3:20)and RIGHTESOUNESS is OBEDIENCE to God's Commandments.

8,
HE THAT COMMITS SIN IS OF THE DEVIL; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Seems like John is speaking pretty plain language here. If you are sining (breaking God's Commandments) then you do not know God and you are of the Devil

9,
WHOSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD DOES NOT COMMIT SIN; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Seems John is telling us the reason why Jesus says. Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).Those who practice SIN will NOT enter into God's KINGDOM

10,
IN THIS THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE MANIFEST AND THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL: whoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

IN THIS to SIN or NOT to SIN are the children of God and the Children of the devil manifest; No need to be in confusion here. God's Word makes it very clear who God's saints are.

Revelation 12: [17], And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14: [12] HERE IS THE PATIENCE OF THE SAINTS: here are they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, and the faith of Jesus. Yep if you are still in your SINS you are not on God's side or do you know him.

11,
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12, Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And why slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13, Marvel not, my brothers, if the world hate you.
14, We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers. He that loves not his brother stays in death.
15, Whoever hates his brother is a MURDERER: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

To put it all to rest now, John's now talking about the 6th Commandment of the 10 Commandments. This is the CONTEXT of 1 John 3:23 that you say is NOT talking about God's 10 Commandments. It seems God's Word disagrees with you.

Indeed the CONTEXT is about those who practice SIN which is what you follow in order to practice your traditions that break the Commandments of God. As mentioned from the very start; SIN will keep all those who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

...............

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God.

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God.

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).
this is a commentary on 1st John 3 that leaves out 11 of the 24 verses , and writes a LOT of opinion .

notice how v. 17 tells us that if we have material goods, see folks in need, and do not help them, we do not have the LOVE of God in us. nothing about Sabbath, nothing about the other 9, helping folks in need is not part of the 10.

plucking, picking, conjoining. this is not Biblical teaching, this is propaganda.

Actually no it is not it is a commentary on the CONTEXT of 1 John 3:23-24 which you ignore and as you say in your own words, your plucking, picking, conjoining scripture out of context in order to follow your tradition.

The context of 1 John 3:23-24 is 1 John 3:3-15. Did you notice v15 even talking about the sin of Murder?

LOVE is indeed the fulfilling of God's LAW in those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. That is why Jesus says; On these two Commandments (LOVE to GOD and man) HANG ALL the LAW and the prophets. (Matt 22:40)

Paul also agrees with Jesus when he writes...

Romans 13
8,
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law.
9, For this, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
10, Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

Well that is not true. I provided God's Word showing scripture context for the passage you quoted out of CONTEXT then showed further scripture that disagrees with your interpretation of the scriptures you were quoting.

Your interpretation of the scriptures you quoted out of CONTREXT was LOVE is devoid of LAW.

The scriptures provided above shows God's Word disagrees with your interpretation of 1 John 3.

you took Romans 7 v.7 . well, in the same chapter , v. Paul says believers died to the law through the body of Christ.

so, thanks again for proving my point. fake , man-made ( or woman , ellen white ) theology that has a premise , then carefully selects verses, isolates them, and writes in commentary, and connects it all to keeping the Sabbath for salvation, instead of trusting Christ.

Actually the KJV did not do a good job translating that verse. It ignore the definite article "τοις".
The Greek looks like this, "χειρογραφον (Handwriting) τοις (to the) δογμασιν (ordinances)"

The definite article τοις
would translate to the English word "the".

So one can easily see it is the Handwriting of the ordinances and not the Handwriting of ordinances. "The Handwriting of the ordinances" would be the Handwriting that pertain to the ordinances.
The handwriting of ordinances could be misconstrued as to include the ordinances themselves. This is not the intent of the Author.

There is a another issue, but it is not as a big of a deal. The KJV has the clause translated to the Genitive case by the use of "of".

The clause is in the Dative case which would dictate the use of the word "to".

Robinson's morphological analyze codes states this on the Dative (indirect object, "to"; also location "in", "at"; instrument, "with")

So with all that is above, one can clearly see that it should be translated "Handwriting to the ordinances" and not the "handwriting of ordinances".
The law has gone, abolished.
Inserting ‘THE’ as in ‘the ordinances’ positively affirms“THE ORDINANCES” are abolished.

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in [THE] ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: (Eph 2:15-16)

Blotting out the handwriting of [THE] ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (Col2:14)

For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness (for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God. (Heb7:18-19)

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. (Heb 8:13)

For the Law which has a shadow of good things to come, not the very image of the things, appearing year by year with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually, they are never able to perfect those drawing near. (Heb 10:1)
