Jesus didn't create this story so you could use it to justify rejecting God's Commandments. Was it the intent of God's Sabbath to ever leave an animal in a pit, or restrict me from walking and eating a strawberry in fellowship with Christ? Was it the intent of God's sanctuary to withhold food from God's Humble Servant David? Of course not, yet the Mainstream Preachers of Christ's time taught just that.
1 Sam. 15:
22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD
as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey
is better than sacrifice,
and to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and
stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from
being king.
13 And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who
is so faithful among all thy servants as David, which is the king's son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honourable in thine house?
15 Did I then begin to enquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute
any thing unto his servant,
nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.
If you only use those scriptures that can be used to support your ancient religious traditions, and reject the rest, how is it you are any different than the Pharisees who did the exact same things?
