greek words for Lord's Day- kyriake hemera. greek word for Sabbath - sabbaton . two different words, with the words for Lord's Day being the only time they are used in the N. T.
Revelations 1:10
10, I was in the Spirit on the Lord's (G2960) day, (G2250) and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.
STRONGS
Lord's meaning G2960 κυριακός kuriakos (kï-riy-a-kos') adj.belonging to the Lord (Jehovah or Jesus).
[from G2962] KJV: Lord's Root(s): G2962 Lord κύριος kurios (kï '-riy-os) n.
1. lord, supreme in authority, the one in control.
2. (also, by implication) sir or master (as a title showing respect for others).
3. (in Hebrew) Adonai, The Lord God of Israel (which is actually Yahweh God of Israel - see Exodus 5:1 and 120 other occurrences).
4. (in Hebrew) Yahweh. Outside the Hebraic Scriptures, rabbis rendered the name “Yahweh” as “LORD” or as “GOD” with the intent to keep this name utterly holy and away from any hint or speck of desecration. This practice continues fervently to this day.
5. (of ownership) an owner (especially of an animal or object).
The same Greek word in Rev 1:10 for DAY IS used in other places nad once again it is referring to God's Sabbath (Luke 4:16; 13:14; 16; 14:15; John 5:9; Acts:13:14)
Matthew 12:8
8, For the Son of man is Lord (G2962) even of the sabbath day.

As you can see above the Words used have the same meaning of application depending on how they are used. The meaning of Lord/Lord's in both Matthew 12:8 and Rev 1:10 is of OWNERSHIP of the DAY and the context is singular meaning that it is referring to a specific day.
Which day is the Lord's day? No need to guess. The scriptures make it very clear.
Matthew 12:8
8, For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day
Which day is the Sabbath day?
Exodus 20
8, Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
9, Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10, But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD THY GOD: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and MADE IT HOLY
.................
Now where in the scriptures does it say that the "LORD'S DAY" is referring to Sunday? Woops there is no scripture. You cannot prove something that is not there. There is NO scripture that says the "LORD'S DAY" is referring to Sunday.
The "LORD'S DAY" = The SABBATH DAY = The SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK (Matthew 12:8; Ex 20:8-11)
Yep it seems God's Word is very clear the Lord's Day is the Sabbath day? There is NO scripture in God's WORD that says the Lord's DAY is Sunday.
Many like to keep SUNDAY because of their Catholic heritage.
John, a jewish man who knew the Sabbath from his youth, would have most likely used the word Sabbath if that is what he meant. but, he used a completely different word, for a different day.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)
Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.
Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?
In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).
