Louis, when you said the thorn in Paul's side being left to him, it was to keep him humble because of the greatness of what God showed him, I agree. And some of us have attested weve experienced great blessing through our trials, thorns, sicknesses, to the point where we thank Him for them.

So the question we were having is, why little strength?

And BillG, i felt you deeply when you said it pains you that we don't see the miracles they did. I have felt that same way to be honest. Its part of why I wonder if we are that church in rev 3

i believe those scriptures were written to encourage the saints to persevere and the power it talked about was the ability to save their lives. God took them out of the world by allowing them to die.

yes and Jesus did hold them to account...God allowed the 2nd temple to fall and the nation of Israel to be destroyed and lead into captivity. just as He did before with Babylon and Persia and other invasions when Israel played the harlot with other gods and idols.
The nation of Israel is restored but most are not practicing Jews much less accepting of Jesus as Messiah.
Jesus also said that its not your blood line that makes you a Jew, its accepting the prophecies of Abraham and having faith in God's plan for the world.
So some say Israel has been re-established but i say its in name only until they accept Jesus as their promised Messiah.
I think I follow...except to me, to be beheaded is not to be kept from the hour of testing coming on the whole world.
