Correct. I know now what the problem was with Bible Discussions. No wonder I felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall.
I'm sure the Pharisees said the same thing about the Gospel Jesus taught.

If you know God's Word you know the CONTEXT. Your interpretation of the scriptures disagree with God's Word. If you knew God's Word you would speak the words of God. You are not from God neither do you know your words. You testify of your self. You indeed do not KNOW God's Word or him who the Word belongs.

Only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE another. If you were from God you would not speak of yourself but point all to him who LOVES all.

Here is the CONTEXT you leave out of your scriptures which is about SIN. As mentioned from the start SIN will keep all those who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

1 JOHN 2
3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4,
He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

If your faith has no FRUIT your tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire. SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

THE CONTEXT of 1 John 3 is those who SIN (BREAK GOD'S COMMANDMENTS) and those who do not...

1 JOHN 3
3,
And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whoever COMMITS SIN TRANSGRESSES ALSO THE LAW: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW
5, And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, WHOEVER ABIDES IN HIM SINS NOT: whoever SINS HAS NOT SEEN HIM, NEITHER KNOWS HIM.

Here you have that reference John is talking about earlier repeated in emphasis in 1 John 2:3-4 [3], And hereby we do know that we know him, if wekeep his commandments. [4], He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

7, Little children, LET KNOW ONE DECEIVE YOU: he that DOES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, even as he is righteous.
What is righteousness? PS 119:172 My tongue shall speak of your word: for all your commandments are righteousness.Yep we are definately talking about God's 10 Commandments. SIN is breaking God's Commandments (1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7; James 2:8-11; Romans 3:20)and RIGHTESOUNESS is OBEDIENCE to God's Commandments.

8,
HE THAT COMMITS SIN IS OF THE DEVIL; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Seems like John is speaking pretty plain language here. If you are sining (breaking God's Commandments) then you do not know God and you are of the Devil

9,
WHOSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD DOES NOT COMMIT SIN; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Seems John is telling us the reason why Jesus says. Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).Those who practice SIN will NOT enter into God's KINGDOM

10,
IN THIS THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE MANIFEST AND THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL: whoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.
IN THIS to SIN or NOT to SIN are the children of God and the Children of the devil manifest;

No need to be in confusion here. God's Word makes it very clear who God's saints are.

Revelation 12: [17], And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14: [12] HERE IS THE PATIENCE OF THE SAINTS: here are they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, and the faith of Jesus. Yep if you are still in your SINS you are not on God's side or do you know him.

11,
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12, Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And why slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13, Marvel not, my brothers, if the world hate you.
14, We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers. He that loves not his brother stays in death.
15, Whoever hates his brother is a MURDERER: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

To put it all to rest now, John's now talking about the 6th Commandment of the 10 Commandments. This is the CONTEXT of 1 John 3:23 that you say is NOT talking about God's 10 Commandments. It seems God's Word disagrees with you.

Indeed the CONTEXT is about those who practice SIN which is what you follow in order to practice your traditions that break the Commandments of God. As mentioned from the very start; SIN will keep all those who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

...............

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).
Here is Paul on the subjectsof being bound by the law of sin.

Romans 7 (NIV) New International Version

Released From the Law, Bound to Christ
1 Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives? 2 For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. 3 So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.

4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. 5 For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death. 6 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

The Law and Sin
7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead. 9 Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. 10 I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death. 11 For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death. 12 So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.

13 Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! Nevertheless, in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it used what is good to bring about my death, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Thank you. That is worth knowing.

Act 20:7 KJV
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

1Co 16:2 KJV
Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Joh 20:19 KJV
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

1 Corinthians 16:2
First day of ... week — already kept sacred by Christians as the day of the Lord’s resurrection, the beginning day both of the physical and of the new spiritual creations: it gradually superseded the Jewish Sabbath on the seventh day (Psa_118:22-24; Joh_20:19, Joh_20:26; Act_20:7; Rev_1:10). So the beginning of the year was changed from autumn to spring when Israel was brought out of Egypt. Three annual feasts, all typical of Christian truths, were directed to be kept on the first day of the week: the feast of the wave offering of the first sheaf, answering to the Lord’s resurrection; Pentecost, or the feast of weeks, typical of the fruits of the resurrection in the Christian Church (Lev_23:11, Lev_23:15, Lev_23:16, Lev_23:36); the feast of tabernacles at harvest, typical of the in-gathering of the full number of the elect from one end of heaven to the other. Easter was directed to be kept as a holy Sabbath (Exo_12:16). The Christian Sabbath commemorates the respective works of the Three Persons of the Triune God - creation, redemption (the resurrection), and sanctification (on Pentecost the Holy Ghost being poured out). Jesus came to fulfil the Spirit of the Law, not to cancel it, or to lower its standard.
(Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)
You are stating an error that keeps being passed around. Jesus didn't rise on Sunday. The tomb was found empty on Sunday. Jesus said the proof of His claim to be the messiah was the sign of Jonah. As Jonah was in the belly of the big fish for 3 days and 3 nights so He was to be in grave 3 days and 3 nights. He was crucified just before the second Sabbath of Passover week and was buried just before nightfall. The tomb being empty on Sunday meant He rose on Saturday afternoon. You ignore the facts as laid out in the Gospels.

You fail to understand that most Christians are protestant. That by it's name means rejecting many beliefs of Catholicism. Get your head on straight. One denomination is Seventh Day Adventist.

then why do you still type stuff ????????? Just leave.
I believe that putting people under Law after the NT clearly teaches that they are not under law is a false gospel!

Gal 1:8-9
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
KJV

If I chose to respond to people who teach a false gospel for the sake of the ungrounded; doing so does not obligate me to respond to them at other times. I ame not interested in friendly chat with those God's word calls accursed.

If we were telling you to keep sabbath to be saved then of course that would be putting someone under the law. I cant speak for others but for me I keep the sabbath because I am saved not to be saved. There is a difference.

Yep we should worship GOD everyday. What has this got to do with anything?

God's 4th Commandment of the 10 says that the SEVENTH DAY is a HOLY DAY that NO WORK is to be done on this day as it is a day of REMEMBERING Jesus the God of creation.

GOD'S 4th COMMANDMENT

Origin....

Genesis 2
1,
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2, And ON THE SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made.
3, And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, and made it HOLY <the 7th day>: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

4th Commandment of the 10 that gives a KNOWLEDGE OF SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS (Romans 3:20; Ps 119:172)

Exodus 20
8, Remember the
SABBATH DAY , to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day; He knew his professed people would forget it)
9, Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10, But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God : in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY : wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT

Breaking God's 4th Commandment is SIN just like breaking ANY of the 10 Commandments. SIN will keep ALL who practice it out of God's KINGDOM

No one is saying with MarcR is saying.

Ask him if breaking any of God's 10 Commandments is SIN and what is SIN according to God's WORD?

Also, ask him if anyone who is professing to be a Christian who is practicing SIN in a saved state before God or an unsaved state before God?

It is breaking God's LAW that is SIN (1 John 3:4) UNREPENTANT KNOWN SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

It all smells a lot like condemnation to me (sorry LFG)

Romans 8:31-34: "If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns?"

Somebody please tell me how you can be a Jew and a Christian at the same time. The theology of the Jews I have spoken to over the last few years is nothing like Christianity.

Thanks.
Being a Jew is both a religion and an ethnicity. Oh accepting the Lordship of Jesus and the scriptural authority of the NT, one can no longer practice Judaism as a religion but one retains his/her ethnic heritage.

WHO IS A JEW IN THE NEW COVENANT?

Let's look at the scriptures.......

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He says not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, AND TO YOUR SEED, WHICH IS CHRIST (Galatians 3:16)

Abraham’s seed is Israel.........

THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: FOR YOU ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS AND IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN YOU ARE ABRAHAM'S SEED FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS and IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN ARE YOU ABRAHAM'S SEED, AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE (Galatians 3:28).

No explanation needed, believe God's Word, and again..........

FOR THEY ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL WHICH ARE OF ISRAEL,: NEITHER, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SEED OF ABRAHAM, ARE THEY ALL CHILDREN: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called <Christ> That is, THEY WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FLESH, THESE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: BUT THE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE <those who believe> ARE COUNTED FOR THE SEED (Romans 9:6).

FOR HE IS NOT A JEW WHICH IS ONE OUTWARDLY; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OUTWARDS IN THE FLESH: BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; and CIRCUMCISION IS OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT, AND NOT IN THE LETTER; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29)

God's Israel...............

Galatians 3:28-29,
THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Colossians 3:11,
WHERE THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Romans 10:11-13,
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. FOR THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JEW OR GREEK: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.

Romans 2:28-29,
FOR HE IS NOT A JEW WHICH IS ONE OUTWARDLY; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY ; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

The New Covenant is for God's Israel..........

Jeremiah 31:33-4,
BUT THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL; After those days, says the LORD, I WILL PUT MY LAW IN THEIR INWARD PARTS,AND WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Hebrews 8:10-12,
BUT THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL; After those days, says the LORD, I WILL PUT MY LAW IN THEIR INWARD PARTS, AND WRITE IT IN THEIR HEARTS; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 10:14-17,
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR HEARTS, AND INTO THEOR MINDS WILL I WRITE THEM; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Galatians 3:29,
AND IF YOU BE CHRISTS THEN YOU ARE ABRAHAMS SEED AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE.

The New Covenant is for God's Israel which represent those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God’s WORD. If you are not part of God's Israel you are not part of the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:10-12).

God's Israel are those that believe the Word of God and follow it and is why Jesus says If you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15)

My friend it is time to leave Sunday School and believe the Word of God. Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW him who calls us out to worship him in Spirit and in truth.

Your house has been built on sifting sand and as the scriptures show great has been the fall of it.

You teach against God’s LAW and the prophets. This is something Jesus and the apostles never did. Unless you REPENT from SIN and BELIEVE the Gospel there will be no place for you and those who follow you in God’s KINGDOM.

Practicing KNOWN SIN will keep all who reject God’s GIFT out of God’s KINGDOM and the proclamation will be announced DEPART from me you who work SIN I never KNEW you (Matthew 7:23; 1 John 3:3-10; 1 John 2:3-4; Hebrews 10:26-27)

Do you BELIEVE God's WORD MarcR? Gentiles are now grafted in and Gods' Israel are those that BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD.

DISAGREE? Where are your scriptures to address this post and the scriptures in them.

..................

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Hello Katty nice to see you.
Breaking God's LAW is Indeed condemnation because those who SIN are guilty before God of breaking it. SIN is the transgression of God's LAW if you break ANY of God's 10 Commandments you stand guilty before GOD in SIN because you have broken one of His Commandments.....

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Romans 3
19,
Now we know that what things soever the law said, it said to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20, Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

James 2
8
, If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well:
9, But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you are become a transgressor of the law.

12, So speak you, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

It is not God's will that we should SIN...

1John 2:1
My little children, these things write I to you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

There is no condemnation for those in Christ means those who seek God's FORGIVENESS and turn away from SIN to follow him who calls you in LOVE to LOVE another (1 John 1:9).

Once you receive a KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH if you turn from GOD to CONTINUE IN KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN then you are still in your SINS because you have rejected the GIFT of God's dear son.

HOW DO WE KNOW IF WE KNOW GOD?

1 John 2
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 3
3,
And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whoever stays in him sins not: whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

WHO ARE GOD'S ELECT?

Revelation 12
17,
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ

Revelation 14
12,
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

WHO ARE THOSE THAT RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE?

Revelation 22
14, Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life,
and may enter in through the gates into the city.

WHAT IS GRACE FOR?

Romans 1
5, By whom we have received GRACE and apostleship, FOR OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH among all nations, for his name.

Romans 6
1, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. 2, How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

DOES FAITH ABOLISH GOD'S LAW?

Romans 3
31,
Do we then ABOLISH THE LAW THROUGH FAITH? GOD FORBID: YES, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THOSE WHO CONTINUE IN SIN ONCE THEY RECEIVE A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH?

Hebrews 10
26,
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Indeed, those who CONTINUE IN SIN will not enter the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

.................

I am not sure why you keep accusing Hizikyah of twisting scripture yet you provide none to show him of any error? Then you accuse him of not being a Christian?
How is someone supposed to post Scriptures that do not exist? You make no sense. Plus, you falsely accuse, again, since there was no accusation of Hiz not being a Christian, just someone telling him to stop being a "fake jew" (because he uses the word "Yahshua").

This simply means that God does NOT show favoritism based on ethnicity, gender or station in life. It does NOT mean that differences do not exist.

Any man who has ever seen a woman undressed can tell you that there really is a difference.

Likewise there are still linguistic and cultural differences between ethnic groups. As God does not play favorites; we likewise should not harbor ethnic prejudices.

I'm going to have to find another forum. There are some lovely people on here, but I just cannot stand all these arguments whereby people try to push error down other peoples throats. It is bad for ones mental and emotional well-being.
