its a shame when people belittle what Jesus did

then rest their hope on their own shoulders....

you NEED to be blind in order for that to make sense

"oh yeah Jesus payed for my sin and is my savior... but its up to me to keep my salvation and earn it back when i mess up"

not even looking to Gods character

or the words of Jesus

you know its gonna be hard talkin to em when they post verses that dont even apply to their point and they use semantics to attempt to make sense of it

Then they demand you respond to it like it is some major find that was never seen before and you never understood before.

35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

john 10

1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

This is our hope. The hope which sustains us, How can we have faith apart from this hope?
Afternoon EG...

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see...:)...

2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal...:)...

Romans 8:24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?...:)...

And last but not least

John 20:29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."...:)...xox...

1 john 3

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

God's WORD that says that GRACE is for OBEDIENCE to the FAITH
The very definition of grace is "unmerited". You've made salvation merit based on adherence to the law, but the law saves no one - and never has. Nobody can keep the law, not even the Jews to whom it was given. The law is simply the schoolmaster that points one to Christ.

Christians have been justified. Our sin debt has been paid in full. We are no longer guilty of any sin - past, present, or future.

Our righteousness is the very righteousness of Christ imputed to our account.

We are free.

AMEN...the hope of the bible...a confident expectation of something guaranteed...........not the hope of one who buys a lottery ticket like the workers for, sinless perfectionists, lawyers and law keepers..........

I will never understand all these people that preach law and works.

1. Moses gave the law. After he gave it, He demanded they confirm an oath that they would keep and obey every word.

2. Moses then gave the instruction on priests, and sacrifices, to show the people that they law they could not keep comes at a price. the price happens to be these innocent animals, who did no wrong and this is what God thinks of each one of our sins

3. Yet they think they can keep the law. They think that hey, sacrifice is great, But I still have to add my work. even though no where in the law was it ever shown or stated that forgiveness, or atonement was purchased by the blood of an innocent PLUS My work.

The animal died and his blood shed because that was the ONLY option.

Christ hung on the cross as our lamb, because it was the ONLY OPTION.

The day of atonement occured every year, because every year all people were sinners, even the priest needed his own sin washed.

Christ died once, because his sacrifice was all sufficient. yet these people think God still needs our help.

even the ark of the covenant showed this

The ten commands, the rod, and the manna (all proofs of guilt for all the people) was covered or atoned for by the blood of the innocent which was poured on the ark.

The judge can not see what makes us guilty ( the charges against us) because they are "covered" by the blood of atonement,

AMEN brother.........it is as clear as can be and yet many will deny it and go about to establish their own righteousness by attempting to keep that which cannot be kept and or believing that their righteous, good works will ADD to or finish off that which Christ has already accomplished eternally on the cross......it is amazing that many cannot see this basic, entry level truth.......

I think the very idea that salvation is totally free is unnerving to some people. They just can't believe it. They think they have to contribute at least something to feel better about the whole deal. In this life, there are strings attached to everything. Even things that are offered for "free" have small fees attached to them. This is what people are accustomed to. We are naturally suspicious of something offered without a catch.

We've always been taught to "pay our way" and "earn our keep". Those things are very hard for people to let go of.

It's why some people think they are "good" with God because they put a lot of money in the collection plate on Sundays.

Amen, its called the flesh. That is why the gate is so narrow. People will not humble themselves and admit they have no hope. because it is just to hard to believe or understand. People will be brought to their knees as god is begging them to look for him, and they will not listen. Its sad.

My salvation is 100% dependent upon Christ, his work, his power, his promises etc.......Anything I could or would do will fall short of God's standard......I trust Jesus 100% at his word to never leave me nor forsake me and save me to the uttermost while keeping me by his power.....

people like that want to always promote of focus on a few sins (sex, murder, rape etc etc) and ignore the fact the worse sin of all (because ALL of those sins are rooted from this one sin, and this is the one sin which will keep us from coming to God) is Pride.

they want to boast because they have not done those grave sins? go ahead.

But what is important is you see how pride is keeping you from the cross. There will be alot of people in hell who never committed sexual sins, never raped anyone, never murdered anyone, etc etc.. I guess they can have a do gooder party?

keep in mind that pride is the sin that got the devil kicked out of Heaven. Isaiah 14- " I shall be like the Most High" ", "I will ascend ".

I,i,i, pride.
