Okay kids, your study for next week’s Sunday school lesson is from Iames 2, Iohn 4, Romanes 6, Nahvm 2, Habakkvk 1, & Ieremiah 13.

Hey, I believe in pounding scriptures into kids. They see those titles and are like, “Huh? Whaaa?”

Esther spelled that way makes me think of a lisp.
 
Languages change. Hebrew changed. Greek changed. English changed. I don’t speak 17th century Elizabethan English. I don’t want to read 17th century English, either. I have the NIV, NASB(my two favs), ESV, (H)CSB, the Hebrew & Greek interlinears by Jay P. Green Sr., to read now.
 
What we really need, instead of this or that version of the Bible, is the proper teacher.

1 John 2:27: "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."

Whatever Bible you have will suffice. Praise God!

And EG never said to interpret any bible according to EG, He said we should interpret it according to the word Using language which is applicable and understandable to all people who speak it. Yet keeping the same meaning.

Do you not think we can do that?

Lol.. So in other words, a child are oven an adult instead of being given a word which is applicable and easily read to them, should study an old outdated text. And use ther “word to interpret itself”

ie, instead of th Bible saying, and they spoke in different languages, so that each person could say, these men speak to us in our own language) we should keep the word “tongue” because the KJV has it.

tyhis is why this CULT is so unbelievable. (And yes I call it a cult. That is what it is.)

There is your problem folks. God does not want us to easily read his word in our own language, he wants us to read it in words we can not understand (even modern day greek words are not the same as greek used in christs day)

How does one say, "Dude, you completely missed the point!" in KJV? Ezra didn't leave the words alone... he translated them.

You better hope and pray her gandparents used the KJV only, and not the American standard or ano other text. Or you will be eating your words..

and if they did use the KJV only, it does not prove you right, no one here Denys the KJV would not be a word which one could use and find the word of God.

God never promised it would be easy studying and understanding His word. Humble yourself. God wants us to approach His word with a believing heart. There are many things I do not understand, but I believe them.

your right, God never promised it would be easy.

But God did not make it harder by demanding we study an old outdated unspeakable by the general public interpretation of his word in order to make it harder.

I remember growing up being told the KJV was th only good version, all others were flawed. But I do not remember such nonsensical arguments being used as you used, Or maybe they did, and I was just to young to understand how unsensical they were.

At the church you attend, does the preacher simply read the KJV, or does he expound on it? If the latter, does he expound in 16th/17th century English or in 20th/21st century English? If your children have a question about something in the Bible, do you simply read it to them or do you explain it in contemporary English?

And since you're so confident about the KJV's internal dictionary, what do you do with a term that appears only once?

And the word of God is contained in other versions as well. You do know the King James has ‘version’ in it, too, right? It’s a version of what? God’s word that was translated from Hebrew, Aramaic, & Greek. It’s a version, too.

As I stated earlier, it’s pouring the rain outside, and you’re drenched.

Right. My point, however, was that they trusted in the scriptures as the Word of God and even if they didn't understand some of the words, they trusted that the Holy Spirit was presenting God's message to them.

I have no problem with other translations as long as I compare them side by side with the KJV. I will never know Hebrew nor original Greek but I trust what I read from scripture to be God's Word and message to a fallen world.

The KJV is NOT the standard to judge other versions by. Only foolish ppl think this. There are tools out there that give you the Greek, Hebrew, & Aramaic in English to study by. Never use the KJV as the standard. Only foolish ppl do this.
