You still sin, Budman. You've condemned yourself too by interpreting 1 John 3:6 as sinless perfection. It's amazing you can not see this.

Same for you, then. You are not born of God, Budman.

And yet, you do too, budman.
You've effectively condemned yourself and you don't seem to even realize it.

Same for you then, you sin every single day too. You've just condemned yourself but you think you are not condemned while you condemn me.

So that's why he became sin for us....so we can keep on sinning and not change but be saved anyway because we are incapable of stopping our sin? Really? So you're saying I can keep sinning in my old life because grace makes it so it doesn't matter anymore?

That's making grace a license to sin. You're only fooling yourself. Grace was given to us to forgive our sin and grow us out of it and deny it. Let's compare what you say grace is for against what the Bible says grace is for.

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,13looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds."-Titus 2:11-14

Grace purifies us, instructing us to deny ungodliness. If this isn't happening in you and you're not growing up into Christ, you do not have the grace of God. Remember that the next time you indulge your sinful appetites thinking God's grace makes it so you can do that and have the grace of God in salvation at the same time.
maybe you didn't see my answer for your question yesterday- not everyone who claims to follow Christ actually does. there are true believers who struggle with sin, and there are fakers.

only God knows the heart, and can rightly and fairly judge. you do not know the heart, and should not be judging. do you accept this?

You too. It's obvious you're convicted about not having a changed life. Take it to Jesus. Leave the messenger alone. I'm all for rewards for labor trying to build people into the Building of God but I'd rather not get them through the abuse of those I'm talking to. Your salvation is the reward I want. That's the reward I want.
That's hilarious! Hey dcontroversal, he want's you to know, in all arrogance ""Ralph-" Saves!

It matters tremendously. Are you hesitant to answer because you are well aware that you will be completely exposed as a "works for salvation" advocate?
No it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you never had salvation or lost it if you stand before Jesus with no works when he comes back. You're still an unbeliever either way and you will go into the furnace. That's not a works gospel.

Yes. The believer is saved even without working because Jesus accomplished all that was required on the cross. A Christian is declared righteous at the moment of belief and can never lose that righteousness, because it is the very righteousness of Jesus that is imputed. As long as Jesus is sinless, so is every believer.

You too 'preacher'.

"no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him"-1 John 3:6

Did you forget your own doctrine?

You're attacking me while I support YOUR own doctrine that says the person who lives in sin is NOT BORN AGAIN. Yet you've unleashed this personal vendetta against me. And this from a preacher. I could understand if you were a baby in Christ. But you are a preacher. A CALVINIST preacher at that who's doctrine is in agreement with what I'm saying.

I do not know how anyone lives their life in this thread except for 'preacher' and 'decontroversal. I have no obligation to consider them brothers in the faith because of the way they have been treating me here. Locutus too, actually.

As for everyone else, you have to take the word of God I've been posting and apply it to yourself and judge yourselves to see if you're in the faith. I don't know how you live. I don't consider any one an unbeliever without first knowing how they act.

"For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous."-1 John 3:10-12

Hear the word of God, Decontroversal, 'preacher', and Locutus. Your behavior towards me shows me that I can not consider you to be my brothers in the faith. Take it to Jesus if you're offended by that. Don't slay me. Leave the messenger alone.

Classic you, assuming, falsely accusing, being disingenuous, lying, sowing discord, causing division therein &c.

The fact is you practice this sin daily, then preach those who practice sin are on their way to hell. (Of course I agree with that doctrine.)

So, that being said, that passage is for you too "christian."

Is this how you are to treat your enemies? Show me you are a disciple of Christ and back off.

we do not have to show you anything, you have no authority over anyone. and you do not know how anyone here " lives their lives ".

LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?
He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman,
who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts,
who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.
Psalm 15:1-5
Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

You're not my enemy, but I am hoping for you to come to repentance; 2 Peter 3:9.
You are treating me like an enemy. I did not know Christ said to beat up on those who wrong you, as if I have wronged you.

That verse even says if abide in sin you do not know him. How are you missing that?
Ralph, yet again, as you yourself sin every day, how is that not abiding in sin?

So that's why he became sin for us....so we can keep on sinning and not change but be saved anyway because we are incapable of stopping our sin? Really? So you're saying I can keep sinning in my old life because grace makes it so it doesn't matter anymore?

That's making grace a license to sin.
Aaaaand there you go - the very thing you've been called on out again and again and again. Not one person here has said grace gives you a license to sin. We should live as much an obedient life as we can, but not for salvation! That issue was completely settled over 2,000 years ago.

The whole point is, if even a single sin is attributed for us - just one - we are lost and on our way to hell. Since without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin, and since Jesus isn't coming back to die for sins ever again, either all sin is covered under the blood and forgiven, or they're not.

And if not - every single person - including me and you - are doomed.

You harp on and on about "living in sin" and "abiding" in sin, when there are no sins attributed to Christians - so your whole argument is pointless!

Grace purifies us, instructing us to deny ungodliness. If this isn't happening in you and you're not growing up into Christ, you do not have the grace of God. Grave is unmerited, Ralph. That means you can't add a single thing to it. Not a single work. If you did, then you could claim some of God's glory for yourself.

You literally have no understanding what the gospel is about. You mouth the words back to us, but you obviously can't comprehend salvation. You equate proof of salvation with works, when even a charlatan can do countless good works. You have no real clue what the Judgment Seat of Christ is about - or why there would be one.

Even the book of James (you like to quote so often) that speaks of being saved in regard to works, means if you have faith but don't have any works, it will not save you from the consequences of the Judgment Seat - which is the judgment of believers according to their works. You will not be spared the embarrassment, the regret, the sorrow, the tears, or the shame at the loss of rewards you will experience when you stand before the Lord, and He asks, "What did you do since you were saved?"

If you've done nothing for Him, you're not going to be saved/delivered from the consequences of this judgment - which means you will suffer loss of rewards. Your "hay and stubble" will be burned up, yet you yourself will remain saved.

Salvation itself is a gift, but one without works will regret they did not live for Christ. Indeed, "faith without works is dead" because works are the means to display the life of your faith to men. Our works/testimony are what impacts others for Christ.

The only "proof" we need of salvation, is God's word being true.

If we have believed that what Jesus did, He did for us - placing our faith/trust in Him alone to accomplish what He promised - we are saved forevermore.

That's it, that's all, thank the Lord!

"no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him"-1 John 3:6

The person living in sin is not saved. The person living in sin DOES NOT KNOW HIM. They are not born again. Understand? This is right out of the very verse you derive once saved always saved from. You seem to have not known this.

It does not say "living" in sin, Ralph. You like to distort that. It says "no one who sins" - which includes you and me and everyone else.

Ralph, do you have any concept of what the two natures are?

Ralph, yet again, as you yourself sin every day, how is that not abiding in sin?
Are you judging your brother, and accusing them of sin while not being able to say what this is?
I thought this was slander.

I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.
My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
1 Corinthians 4:3-5

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
Matthew 5:14-15

Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
1 Peter 3:15-17
