That is the truth of it for sure. Maybe I will adopt your style, must be less frustrating..I will have to pray for some clever wit though. :D

The thing is UG, that one point of view can easily be "overruled" by another point of view - the whole context needs to be discussed and that can rarely be done in a few lines of a post. A wall of text tends not to be read.

So what we end up with is wrangling back and forth getting no where - each party holding to its own "position".

Umm nope it was your turn to respond to my comment and I also provided the link which is about 20 posts back now

#51306

And you also said you were afraid to talk about free grace because you did not want to get banned.

Make up your mind Ralphie..
Stop. I just pointed out that we have to be careful HOW we talk. We'll have to do it from the view point of Calvinism, your personal belief system if I'm not mistaken(?)

Now, I responded to a good chunk of your post from the other night. Have you responded since then? If you did I missed it.

Not being a follower of doctrinal trends means I won't be arguing over the old or new OSAS - which is why I don't get theologically involved in this thread. And I've seen the same argumentation on other forums over the years however the doctrine is framed.

Okay. That's fine. Which means you should refrain from ridiculing me too. I mean, if you're not going to discuss the topic you should not say anything at all and certainly not attack and ridicule me.

Don't you have anything to add of value to the discussion? Doctrine is what we need here, not empty criticism, which is what your mentors have been doing. They've stopped adding anything useful to the discussion. They just attack personally and offer no substance. You've started acting like them, even talking like them, and it's sad to see. You were different before.
We don't need more doctrine here and certainly no more criticism. Where are those Christian attributes of peace, joy, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self control?....but the greatest of these is love.

They don't exist in the BDF.

Just having fun Ralphie :) You are good with the comebacks

We will see what tomorrow brings ...
Just saw this. Thank you!

This is the point: Which best represents where you're at if you were living in sin....

I read Galatians 5:21 and I think, "that doesn't apply to me because I'm born again, even though I'm living in sin."

-or-

I read Galatians 5:21 and I think, "hmmm....I'm living in sin, I may not be born again."

You being Reformed (right?), which one fits Reformed doctrinal thinking? Compare that to what you honestly think when you read Galatians 5:21. Do they match? Let's talk about it.

Gee, not terribly surprised by that. And yet I'm the un-Christian one, right?
Well, no, I'm just surprised by all the humility.

Anyway - I gotta go finish watching the Walking Dead on Netflix rather than arguing with him.

:p

I KNEW someone would say this. This is too funny.
That was hardly an attack, but of course you all are looking diligently for an occasion to catch me in something instead of actually discussing the topic and proving your points.
Your hypocrisy is just so easy to spot.
It is okay for you to do the very things you rail on others for.
You don't see it? I am not surprised :)

As to your assertion that members get other members banned, you are
way off the mark. You really ought to stop bearing false witness, Ralph.

You'll be wishing for milennia, especially concerning God's word, after all as it written "God's word is like a fire only quenched by speaking it".

No, you are only able to see it as an attack and can't see the honest concern in my words to him because you are gunning for me. You have been from the start. You're holding a grudge. And because of that you'll never hear a word I say correctly. And all of this is especially funny since you people think I'm FranC. You think you've been beating up on her, which is bad enough, but what really gets me is you think it's okay to do that.

Now, do you have anything useful to add toward the topic, or are you just here to beat me up?
