I agree with everything in that post. Salvation is not maintained or kept by good works. Good works is just an outgrowth and result made possible by our Lord. I also agree that lack of good works does not cause loss of salvation. We have much more in common than we do in difference.

Matthew 22
22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
22:39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Amen bro.....it is a simple equation that gets complicated by men.....one of my favorite verses...Be not removed from the simplicity found in Christ....it is a simple thing that God is pleased with the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe and that before God a man is justified by faith without works <--Per the words of Paul

James 2:22, "Do you see that the belief was working with his works, and by the works the belief was perfected?"
In James 2:22, "faith made complete or perfected" by works means bring to maturity, carry to the end, to complete like love in 1 John 4:18. It doesn't mean that Abraham was finally saved based on the merit of his works after he offered up Isaac on the altar in Genesis 22. When Abraham performed the good work in Genesis 22; he fulfilled the expectations created by the pronouncement of his faith in Genesis 15:6.

It started with Cain and Abel (Grace vs Works) I doubt it will stop until the end
The Gospel remains under attack by works-salvationists who play the same game in salvation as every other false movement of Christendom. They profess to teach that salvation is by grace through faith, but then redefine this in a way that is contrary to the Truth. Even though they may deny this, they teach that salvation is by "grace plus law, faith plus works." :(

they miss the message of Cain and Abel.

Abel gave sacrifice (a lamb gave his life for Abels offering) Cain gave the fruit of his labor.

God rejected Cains human righteousness,. And accepted Abels, Which made Cain angry, and the start of religion (works based Salvationist) HATING grace ( faith based salvationism) began, and continues even til today.

Yes, we can see that Abel's faith was evidenced in obedience to God's requirement for sacrifice by which he obtained witness that he was righteous (Hebrews 11:4). His faith was evidenced by his offering (James 2:18). Cain, who was of the evil one, demonstrated an evil heart by evil deeds, while Abel demonstrated a righteous heart by his righteous deeds (1 John 3:12); and Abel offered his sacrifice by (out of) faith and Cain did not. Cain's sacrifice was evidence of his lack of faith. Abel's offering proved something about his faith that was not demonstrated by Cain's offering.

Now MMD how do you know the Gospel is under attack when you do not know what the Gospel is? :(

A year later, 2386 pages of this.
We can all agree to stop posting here and it will disappear quickly. The problem is when people stop posting here the OP bumps it up.

We have this new gospel where obedience is you trying to save yourself, and disobedience is just you growing up into the faith. 'Do not be deceived', the Bible says.

I've never seen more resistance against the righteous works of the Spirit than I have in these last couple of years and especially in this forum.

I predict another 20 or 30 thousand more posts to this thread for 2018. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but it is the reality of the situation.

For the op, not responding to the post, Refuse to response to silly nonsense anymore with people who continue to lie about others)

The fact is, is is posts like this right here is why this thread, and threads like it will never die. (I am beginning to think they do it on purpose to get a rise out of us which is why I think it is best we stop responding to this nonsense anymore)

1. False accusations based on false truths about what others are saying or teaching.
2. Just like Cain attacked Abel, The works people will attack the grace people. Because the same reason the pharisee attacked christ. Because of pride. The4y think because we REJECT the fact that obedience will save us, but is the RESULT of being saved, we are attacking obedience.
3. And then your final lie. This fight has been going on since Cain and even. The one who is resisting the spirit are the ones trying to do what religion has done since the beginning, Saying obedience is REQUIRED. Not that obedience is RESULT (it boasts in self) yet you say only in the last couple years? You must have been isolated.

You have posted here more than David has the last little while. Your lies are easily exposed. Why do you continue in the ways of the flesh, despising and hating and abusing those who reprove you? God does not wink at your lawlessness.

What you're seeing is I had some free time over the holiday weekend to post. You watch. When this 'thing' starts dying and falls down in the list he'll bump it up. That's what he's been doing.

The 'disobedience' part stings, doesn't it, Magenta. We're not blind. We can see right through you people. Repent so you don't get cast away when Jesus comes back. He's not coming back for disobedient, lawless people-Matthew 7. He's coming back for people transformed by faith into obedient people who have been obeying him more and more in their love for Him. Not for people who use the excuse that they don't have to be obedient because salvation is not by obedience, and that their disobedience is just them still having to grow up in the faith.

As a New Year's resolution let us stop posting here and let the little glee club that wears the 'like' button out on each other's posts here encourage each other in their disobedience and blindness.

Yes. By ALL means. I implore you in the Name of Jesus Christ to repent from relying on YOUR works, to trusting SOLELY in the shed Blood of our beautiful, sweet, Holy, Savior!

The cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. To those that REFUSE to trust solely in Jesus.

May He rescue you from your body of death, and give you a NEW, LIVING heart, as the New Wine (Holy Spirit) CANNOT inhabit an old wineskin. (your dead heart).

Personally, I like this thread. As long as it is up, I will post. For those who don't want to continue on it, stop - for those who find this thread interesting and want to continue to discuss the topic, post.

Just saying.

One thing is for sure, they have NEVER stepped foot in a faith based church, If they had, they would realise how foolish and how utterly wrong their arguments (ie, things like they HATE obedience) are. And maybe even have the capacity to see the truth of the cross.

Somewhere along the way, I posted in here before today. This thread fills my email up every day. I can't remember when or what I wrote.

My question is: If we are saved by faith alone, what is the consequences to a saved Christian, who disobeys God's laws?
