They sell diapers at walmart.....His jest was funny...don't be so easily offended which is a sure sign of immaturity
I'm not offended. I want you to know that laughing is the sign that you are defenseless and you know it. Like in school when someone's getting their lights pounded out and they haven't got a defense and they start laughing and mocking the one bloodying their nose in a vain attempt to frustrate and make the one pounding their face in think that it's not hurting.

The law is weak thru the flesh
The law is our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ
The law deems the world guilty and shuts every mouth
The law is nailed to the cross and taken out of the way
The law is for the lawless
The law came by Moses as opposed to GRACE AND truth that came by Jesus
The Law is being done AWAY WITH

Law or grace.....not both....one or the other.......all who choose law choose and inferior weak way that deems you guilty!
Romans 11:25-32 All Israel Will Be Saved I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Romans 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.

Romans 9:4-5 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

Romans 15:8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs

Galatians 3:17 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise.

The Gentiles who received mercy because of Israel's disobedience are not those who received the law and are therefore not under the condemnation of the law but have received grace through faith that worketh in love.

The promise is for Israel whom God made to be one new man with the Gentile believers who also were made recipients of the promise through faith.

Romans 2:27-29 The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise is not from men, but from God.

New International Version 1984 Romans 2:12-16 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

Ephesians 2:11-22 One in Christ Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)— remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Sorry DC. But from what I read on this thread 99% are saying this.

Seems that many argue from eternal security side but say ," It is really not by works, but you WILL have works. And if not. you really were not saved." Making it(salvation) BY WORKS.

Our works and service is to glorify Christ. Our belief/trust in Christ is for salvation.

Many, many, many believers STOP on START and live a life of divine discipline and worthless works. Still saved though.

A believer SHOULD have works and SHOULD Glorify Christ. Many do not. But they are still saved.

Ephesians2:8-10;
saved by grace "Not by Works"

8)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus 'unto good works', which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Not a difficult concept to understand; saved "unto good works", "not by your good works." anything less is nothing more than "Cainology", unacceptable sacrifice, wood hay and stubble.

Unsaved people don't live in new lives. Their old life testifying to the fact that they are unconverted. They're toast.

Just as the one who has a new life testifying to his conversion will be saved.

Why do you people always drag once saved always saved into this? Is it because you are still living in your old lives and are afraid that if once saved always saved is not true then your goose is cooked when Jesus returns, so you make sure to bring that into it? Is that why?
Loss of salvation is false doctrine and that is the premise you argue from. So it ALWAYS needs to be brought up.

Living in our old life....is trying to clean up the old man. Live in the Spirit and the old man is forgotten/ignored.

But many believers are deceived into thinking that the point of salvation is to clean up the old life and live in the old life to make it better. Which cannot be done.

Your living in the old life.......your just trying to clean it up.

Does not matter..your first line is a misnomer and false....there is no such thing as the loss of salvation.....so the rest does not matter......
Just tell us. How does once saved always saved mean you do not have to have righteous works by the Spirit when Christ returns?

Maybe this is a good time for you to just admit that you believe that you can live in your old life and when Jesus comes back you will be saved, even though you deny that you believe that in other posts.

you don't understand. let me give you an example:

Your living in the old life.......your just trying to clean it up.
tomorrow people all over the world are going to make "new year's resolutions" -- they're all going to have a go at cleaning the outside of the cup. live new lives. produce works.

You missed it by a mile.

Living in your old life is you still living in your old life....adultery, fornication, lying, stealing, impurity, lust, greed, worldliness.

The argument is not that the point of salvation is to clean up the old life. The argument is the cleaned up life is the result of being saved. No cleanup-no salvation has occured. You will be rejected when Jesus returns. It doesn't matter if you were saved and lost it, or if you were never saved to begin with. Either way if you're in your old life when Jesus comes back, you're toast.

Maybe you should read what I write without blinders on and be honest with what I have said....your whole post drips with things I have not said nor implied.......the fact that you push a faith/works psuedo blend blinds you to the actual truth that believers will have either works of gold, silver and precious stones or works of wood, hay and stubble or a combo of both.....at the end of the day ALL SAVED have done the WORK of the Heavenly Father and are secure in Christ...............!!

Can you read....serious? You cannot get your head around simple truths from the bible because you cannot understand the root of salvation and what it is based upon.....and or what this thread is about....

if salvation is real, you can die in the flesh never having achieved any degree of physical mastery over the sin in it at all, and your soul may yet be alive to God by the spirit, because the sin in the flesh is conquered by the Messiah on the cross. but God "who justifies the ungodly" and who "calls that which is not, as though it were" and who "appoints the times and seasons" is faithful.

is He faithful to the one who has no works?
is there truly such a thing as salvation, if He is not?

The only way once saved always saved can matter when Jesus comes back is you can live in your old unconverted life and you will still be saved. But that contradicts what you have said in other posts that the believer WILL have works. Make up your mind already. Which is it? It can't be both.
