Ex 15This chapter needs no help at all. Just keep in mind as you read it, That Yeshua is the right hand of HaShem, and this song tells us 2 stories.
First it speaks to Israel being freed from Egypt.
Yet it also gives us a clear pitcher of Yeshua's victory over Satan, and death.

Ex 16

1-2 I have little chose when it comes the rest of Ex. I must remove my own thoughts. It brakes my heart to see that a people can turn so quickly, and forget the strong hand, and loving kindness that had freed them. As we are told it had only been a month.

3-5 there 3 things told of this short passage.
1- When a person complains about how things are, they often look at the past as being better than it was. This lie deals with the idea that faith is always happy with what is, and looks to a better life to come. It also feeds a fire of unfaithfulness. It does so by helping the one complaining see HaShem as unjust, and cruel.
2- When ones complaint is toward a leader or teacher, that has been sent by HaShem, then that complaint is against HaShem as well. Though we say it isn't in our minds, the heart knows better.
3- Complaining always tries to make things worst than they are. With all the livestock they had, they know they weren't going to starve. True there more than likely wasn't enough to feed them all for years, although one must ask, if their shoes lasted for years, HaShem could make sure the livestock as well right?

4-5 Most people then as now, resist a life that forces us to depend on HaShem for our needs day by day. many will say I am wrong, and they do trust in HaShem for their daily needs. To that say bull. You see we all want to have enogh on hand for no less than 3 days. For some it is not enough if it will not last them a month. HaShem however was trying to show us here that a life by faith is not an easy one. He was getting Israel ready to live by faith a lone.
One teaching here, that holds little water in my mind. HaShem was having them observe the Sabbath before it was given. Though this teaching is followed by many, the idea is wrong. Just as I pointed out many times in Gen. the law was in place before it was placed in writing, or given at Sinai. the 7th days was made holly on the 7th day that earth was here.
6-8 Here we find that the Torah backs the idea that when one complains against a leader sent by HaShem, they complain against HaShem. So it is that HaShem tested them to see if they would do as He said. Keep in mind they are to only take enough for that day.
9-10 To present themselves to HaShem, Israel was lead to a place were they faced the cloud. This may have placed Moses and Aaron between them and the cloud. Showing that Moses didn't act independently, rather acted only on what HaShem told him.
11-12 Though we first read it was to test Israel, and HaShem said nothing of the complaint, here He does. This may well have been that at first He was replying to only Moses, and here He is responding to the people.
13-18 The people had no clue what to make of the Manna. Some say they had expected to go out find bread all cooked and ready to eat. HaShem it seems doesn't hand out MRE's. Yet just as He said, they all had what they needed. That is once they know what it was they were looking at.
19-20 One would think that after all that had been do on their behave, They would listen, and do what they were told. Some had to learn the hard way. Keep in mind it is not human nature to live day by day, it wasn't then, and it isn't now. So some keep a little for the next day.
22-23 After having it everyday, some of the people didn't understand why they should take enough for 2 days now. After all, when some was put back for the next day before it went bad over night. Moses explained that the next day was Sabbath, a day of rest, set apart for HaShem.
24-26 What was put back for the Sabath was still good. Yet Moses told them to eat today. He also added that their wouldn't be any in the field on Sabbath.
27-30 Still some went out to look for some. HaShem seems a bit bewildered by this, much like of us are when our kids don't do what they asked. It is also here that some will turn to try and debunk Sabbath. Or at lest try to make it seem as though another doesn't keep Sabbath. As Israel is told not to stay i their place, and not go out looking for manna. This get twisted into, you can't go out side, or if you do you can't leave your yard. We will deal with this later when we look at what is said for Sabbath, and what the NT has to say as well.
32 Though we are never told the manna set a said here was ever shown to anyone, one teaching, tells us it was every year. One other tells us that every time the tablets were taken out and read, it was placed so that all could see it. However, once they were placed inside the Ark, the Tanakh never tells us they were removed. Though it does seem to hint at this in places.
33-36 Though this passage tells us Aaron placed the manna in the ark, at this time they had no ark to place it in. This shows that even though the Torah tells us what was going, it isn't confined to time as we understand it. We are told of events that couldn't have happened at the time we are told of them. This however is no reason to debate id they really happened at all.

I wish you would go back to citing the verses. I find it uncomfortable to shift back and forth between screen and text.
It is worth the effort but seems unnecessary.

Ex 17

1
Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.

2 Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, "Give us water, that we may drink." And Moses said to them, "Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the Lord?"
3 And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, "Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?"

Once more Israel is faced with a hardship. One commentator tells us, "What we find in the actions of Israel shows their mind set. It seems to one of entitlement, as well spiritual blindness." Is there more to this? As always the answer is YES. The sages tell us, that in 2 the people still had water in their vessels and no one was going thirsty. This is why Moses simply answered them with the questions we find here. Yet in 3 we find that they are indeed thirsty. As the wording now makes clear that there was not water left.

4 So Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, "What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me!"

5 And the Lord said to Moses, "Go on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel. Also take in your hand your rod with which you struck the river, and go.
6 Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink." And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

After the second complaint, Moses turned to HaShem for an answer. Once more making it clear that there was no water left. What we find in the answer goes unseen by many. When HaShem tells Moses to pass before the people, This may well imply that Moses was being rebuked for having side they were ready to stone him. The elders were to be witness to HaShem's power. Though this has been said they were to witness the power of the staff, and not HaShem. That teaching tends to give the idea of the people worshiping the staff. So it should be rejected.

7 So he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, "Is the Lord among us or not?"

This name literally means "Test and Contention". For Israel tested HaShem to see if He really was with them. They contended with him, by placing their complaint in the form of a challenge.

8 Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
9 And Moses said to Joshua, "Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand."

It has been said that Joshua, and Jesus have the same name in Hebrew. However, they are both side in a different manner, and the spelling is a bit different. Joshua, in Hebrew is, Yehosua, it means,( as best I remember) God is with us.
Jesus on the other hand is Yeshua, and means God is salvation. Wish I know how to put that in the Hebrew script, just to show the slight difference.

10 So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
11 And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses' hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
13 So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
14 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven."

It is said by the sages, and I agree to some extent. Moses was to write this in the book. That book being Torah. The recounting of it to Joshua, was to let him know that his battle was not in vain, that HaShem would keep fighting this war until Amalek was no longer even a memory. This teaching however removes the idea that it was to be written down, so it would not be forgotten.

15 And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner;
16 for he said, "Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation."

Verse 16 in the Chumash reads, "and he said, 'For the hand is on the throne of HaShem: HaShem maintains a war against Amalek, from Generation to generation.
We must note that in the Hebrew text, ( as we are told by the sages) the word for throne is shortened, as well as the Name of HaShem.
The sages differ in their teaching no this. One tells us that HaShem's name and throne are diminished as long as Amalek exists. This is an odd teaching when one understands that His name can't be demised by man.
Yet the other tells us that it is a reference to the Jewish kings. As long as a Jewish hand is on the royal throne, he must carry on HaShem war.

Ex 18
1 And Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel His people--that the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt.

There is some debate if Jethro was a pagan priest at this time. As we are not told straight out, one must their own way of thinking to find the answer for them self. Though many see what follows as alluding to him following HaShem.

2 Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her back,
3 with her two sons, of whom the name of one was Gershom (for he said, "I have been a stranger in a foreign land")
4 and the name of the other was Eliezer (for he said, "The God of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh");
5 and Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses in the wilderness, where he was encamped at the mountain of God.
6 Now he had said to Moses, "I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons with her."

It seems more likely that word was sent to Moses, before they got to the camp. A sign of respect, and show of peace. Much like knocking on a friends door rather that just walking in.

7 So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, bowed down, and kissed him. And they asked each other about their well-being, and they went into the tent.

Going out to meet Jethro, was a sign of honor. For Aaron and maybe the whole of Israel went out to greet this man.

8 And Moses told his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how the Lord had delivered them.
9 Then Jethro rejoiced for all the good which the Lord had done for Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
10 And Jethro said, "Blessed be the Lord, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
11 Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them."

The sages tell us Moses was trying to bring Jethro closer to Torah by telling him of the things that had taken place. Even though we are told before hand Jethro knew of them, he most likely didn't know the details. Some point to this to say he was at that time turned toward Torah, and HaShem. As he proclaims that HaShem is greater than other gods. Keeping in mind that when we are first introduced to Jethro, it seemed clear that he was a leader of pagan worship. Yet it also seemed that he had been removed from this post for one reason or another. So it may also be that he had turned to HaShem some time before we meet him, and his exclamation here is nothing more than an acknowledgment of that faith. As he has now seen, and understood YHVH for what it truly meant.

12 Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and other sacrifices to offer to God. And Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.
13 And so it was, on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people; and the people stood before Moses from morning until evening.
14 So when Moses' father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he said, "What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?"
15 And Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of God.
16 When they have a difficulty, they come to me, and I judge between one and another; and I make known the statutes of God and His laws."
17 So Moses' father-in-law said to him, "The thing that you do is not good.
18 Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself.
19 Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God.
20 And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do.
21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
22 And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you.
23 If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace."
24 So Moses heeded the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said.
25 And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people: rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
26 So they judged the people at all times; the hard cases they brought to Moses, but they judged every small case themselves.
27 Then Moses let his father-in-law depart, and he went his way to his own land.

Though it was a direct command from HaShem Jethro gave sound advice in matters of court. So sound, most systems follow this pattern even today. It is even backed in the NT, as can be seen in Pauls letters. 1Cor 6, is just one that comes to mind. However we must also note that Jethro in his own way placed this matter in the hands of HaShem. with his statement, "If HaShem so commands you" In other words, let not my will be done in this matter, but HaShem's.

Ex 19
1 In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai.
2 For they had departed from Rephidim, had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness. So Israel camped there before the mountain.

The long awaited day had came at last. Israel was about to find why they had been saved from slavery, and how their lives would change. Just as when we first came to Yeshua, it was hope, and looking foreword to a better life. I wish now to say, I will not try to tell anyone you must live by what is said in Torah, I simply ask that you hear this out. I also ask, that you don't try to change how I see this, many have tried, and all have failed. It was after all, finding that so much of Torah is in the NT, that has changed my life for the better, as well giving me a new understanding of so much.

3 And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
4 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself.
5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.
6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel."

HaShem has made clear His intent of Israel, they would be a nation of priests a Holy nation IF they keep His covenant. A covenant that we as gentiles are freely given part in, Rom. 11. Peter also points to this passage of scripture in 1Peter 2:5-6. One may also wish to read the following. Eph. 2:21-22, and Rev. 1:6, Not once in all of the Word has this been repealed, Even Yeshua gave us an order that is much the same in Luke 21.
There is more behind this than just that however. If one looks to Judges 9 you will find it tells of the trees seek one to reign over them. So it was that this teaching was found. The trees are the nations of the world, and they were all given a chance to take the Torah as their own. None would, as it against human nature to accept commandments that are in conflict with their own characteristics. Israel after everything they had seen was willing to bend themselves to what HaShem wanted from them. Much as Paul said in Gal. 2:20.

7 So Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him.
8 Then all the people answered together and said, "All that the Lord has spoken we will do." So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.
9 And the Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever." So Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.
10 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.
11 And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

Though there are many teachings on the above passage, some simply don't fit. It is with that in mind that I offer up just 3. The first 2 from the sages tells us, they were remain spiritual clean, so their hearts would be free of sin. Yet Ibn Ezra views it this way. The people were to immerse themselves in a mikveh as should be seen in the command to wash their close.
The 3ed comes to us from a Messianic Rabbi, he draws on NT teachings for this. "Immersion gives us the image of being washed clean. As many see baptism as being a part of salvation, so to was it seen in this passage as being a part of excepting by faith ones walk with HaShem."

12 You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, 'Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.
13 Not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with an arrow; whether man or beast, he shall not live.' When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain."

As should be noted the bounders may be seen as more than one. The sages tell us that there was one for Aaron that was closer to the mountain than the one for the people. This shows us that the more holy a person, the closer to HaShem that person is. Though their is little to say this is right, and less to say it is wrong one would do well to understand this.
When HaShem left the mountain, the Holiness left with Him. The sounding of the shofar was to let the people know it was now safe to go up, and to let the livestock feed there. One may also see this as a way to show that the mountain was holly, and should not be worshiped. The pastors that I study with all agree that this also applies to the cross. Both hold no power of their own, and were nothing more a toll, used to get a job done.

14 So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.
15 And he said to the people, "Be ready for the third day; do not come near your wives."
16 Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.

17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

Just as today, HaShem came down on the mountain and waited for is people to come to Him. This was a display of love in that He showed His willingness to wait for us to come to Him, rather than make us wait on Him.

18 Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
19 And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice.
20 Then the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
21 And the Lord said to Moses, "Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish.
22 Also let the priests who come near the Lord consecrate themselves, lest the Lord break out against them."
23 But Moses said to the Lord, "The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai; for You warned us, saying, 'Set bounds around the mountain and consecrate it.' "
24 Then the Lord said to him, "Away! Get down and then come up, you and Aaron with you. But do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to the Lord, lest He break out against them."
25 So Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.

HaShem told Moses to go back down and warn the people once more not to come up, Moses however was sure they wouldn't, after they had been told once already. HaShem however knew that we humans are always looking for a short cut. So in their minds it may have been that going up a little higher would them become just a little more holly. After all, if the priest were set a side as holly, and could go up a little higher, then they may think they can attain this standing as well. Always keep in mind if HaShem tells us something He means what He says. If He tells us a second time, He wants us to understand it, and know in our hearts He means it. More than that, and it should be clear that it is His will, and we best be about getting it done. Don't forget however, that no matter how much we try, we can never make ourselves holly. That can only come about by HaShem, and His loving kindness.

As we enter the LAWS as given by HaShem, I feel the need to post this first. As I know full well there are many on here that wish to discreet any teaching of HaShem's Law, I am going to keep it down to one law at a time. I ask that if you wish to show THAT ONE LAW has been removed, please stay with just the ONE LAW that is being covered at that time. Even though I can't see any that don't want the law to be thought being able to do this, I still feel the need to ask that you try. After all the Bible tells us to walk as Yeshua, it also speeks of doing things in an orderly fashion.
1 Cor 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
2 Cor 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

Also keep in mind that Satan is, the opposite of HaShem. By him confusion, and disorder is born.
Thank you for your time in reading this, I pray we all heed this, and do our best to follow what is being asked. After all, not once will you see me say anything about u must follow the Law, I will simply place before you what the Bible tells us, and let the Spirit of HaShem do His will with it.

Ex 20:1-3
1 And God spoke all these words, saying:
2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 You shall have no other gods before Me.
Deut 5:7 'You shall have no other gods before Me.
Deut 6:14 You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you
Duet 7:5 But thus you shall deal with them: you shall destroy their altars, and break down their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images, and burn their carved images with fire.
6 "For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
2Sam 22:4 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
2 Kings 17:35 with whom the Lord had made a covenant and charged them, saying: "You shall not fear other gods, nor bow down to them nor serve them nor sacrifice to them;
Psalm 96:4 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens.
Mat. 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.'
Heb. 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
Rev 22:9 Then he said to me, "See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."

As can be seen in the passages given, The first commandment lives on even today. As I am sure that not may will contest that we are to worship only HaShem, enough is said. Well I take that back, we should show pity to any that wish follow after other gods, and pray for them always.

Ex 20:4
4 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

I have found in the past that this one may need a bit of clarification. In the southwestern states, some people willl say a sand painting is wrong to have, and hang on your wall. Yet if a person sees it as nothing more than art work, there is nothing wrong with it. It is when we look on it as a god that it becomes sin. I say this as I have had more than one person ask if a photo of the kids, pets, and other forms of art transgress this commandment. It is only when you pray to, or worship them that it becomes sin.

2 Kings 17:35 with whom the Lord had made a covenant and charged them, saying: "You shall not fear other gods, nor bow down to them nor serve them nor sacrifice to them;
Mat.4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.' "
Eph5:5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Col.3:5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Rev 9:20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.

This a short list, as there are many more that could be added. Yet this shows that to turn to others gods is still a sin, even if we have turned our lives over to Yeshua.

Ex 20:7
7 "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

There are many teachings on this, one is that to say is name wrong is a sin. Yet a another is that to use His name as a curse is wrong. Then there is also the idea that to use His name when you have not been given the authority to do is sin. The best anyoe can do is to turn to scripture for the truth on this matter.

Phi 2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
1Tim 1:13 although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
Heb 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Jam 2:7 Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?
Rev 3:12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

There are many other passages that deal with this topic, I placed these before you to give my understanding.
First we find that there is a name above all others, Phi 2:9, and that by that name we are to give praise to HaShem, Heb 13:15. When we turn our lives over to HaShem, through Yeshua's sacrifice, We are then have the authority to use His name. Many see Rev. 3:12 as informing us that it is then that we are given His name. It is wrong to use His name without His approval, as can be seen in
Jer. 14:15 “Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who prophesy in My name, whom I did not send, and who say, ‘Sword and famine shall not be in this land'—‘By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed!

Also look what became of them that didn't have this approval or authority in Acts 19:13-16. The evil spirit didn't run from them, it attacked them. So it is that we should study the Word, and understand what rights it gives us, and what ones it with holds. We also need to be sure of our salvation, not by the words of Man, rather by the Word it's self. After all, does Yeshua not turn away many that came calling Lord Lord?
Mat. 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Ex. 20:
8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. (also see Deut 5:12-15)

There are somethings here that I have found need to made clear. As I said in post#522 it has came time to deal with the misconception of not being able to go out side. As can be clearly seen here this doesn't tells us that. Infact, there are many other misconceptions that should be addressed at this time. In their hopes of making it clear what the Laws mean, and all that is forbidden, many things were added, that are not in, or hinted at in the Torah. As we are now looking at the sabbath, we will stay with just that one.
Rabbinic Law, (not to be confused with Biblical law) we are told that we can't light a lamp, cook a meal, heat a meal, walk more than X # of steeps, lift any thing, drag a limb out of the way so no one trips over it in the dark, start your car, and this list can get much longer. However none of that is ever given as a part of Sabbath, except in Ex 16. There it seems that it was simply an order for the people to keep them from seeking something they were not going to find.
My reason for pointing this out is simple. I have fielded questions many times in my life that have their bases in Rabbinic law and not Biblical law. That kind of question has been placed before me so many times, that I have questioned if their church teaches it, or if they had simply looked it up on the internet seeking a way to force an answer that could be used to discreat my understanding. No matter on that however, as they never got what they wanted. If their intent was true, or not HaShem knows, and I will not have to answer for the actions of others.
Moving on, we see that Yeshua gave clear answers to on some of the above, and in doing, told us more of how one should Keep the Sabbath.
Ex. 31:16 ‘Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

Many will say this is only for Israel. I am ok with that idea, if we keep in mind that this same covenant is what we as true believers are should take part in. Please see Rom. 11 for more info on that one.

1Ch 9:32
And some of their brethren of the sons of the Kohathites were in charge of preparing the showbread for every Sabbath.

This doesn't show work being done on Sabbath, just being done to be ready for Sabbath.
Neh 13:15 In those days I saw people in Judah treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. And I warned them about the day on which they were selling provisions.

Please read that chapter in full. As it shines a light on what shouldn't be done.
In contrast,
Isa. 56:2 Blessed is the man who does this, And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
Isa 56:6 “Also the sons of the foreigner Who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him,
And to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants—Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant—
Isa 58:13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words,
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the LORD.
Mat 12:1-13 tells of Yeshua being confronted for His followers picking grain. Moves on to the healing of a man. One should understand that even rabbinic law makes allowances for civil service workers, and medical workers. As their work is understood as doing good.
Mark 1:21 Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught.
Luke 6:5 And He said to them, “The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”

Did Paul keep the 7th day Sabbath?
Acts 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.

One would do well to read all of acts 13.
Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.

2 More things on this.
1) Not one place in the Word tells us it is wrong to worship any day but the Sabbath. So no it isn't a sin to worship on days 1-6.
2) There is not one place in the whole of the Word that ever changes the Sabbath from the 7th day to the 1st day.

Ex. 20: 12
"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Duet 5:16
‘Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.
Mat 15:4
“For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother'; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.'
Mat15:6‘then he need not honor his father or mother.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
Mat 19:19
‘Honor your father and your mother, and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
Eph 6:2
“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise:

Sorry about that, life does go on even when we may wish it to stay away just a little longer.

Have any of you ever wondered what would have happen if Adam hadn't eat of the fruit? Don't get me wrong, it is clear that anything said on that would just what the person speaking thinks. So the best we can do is work with what we have. As the Word tells us, Adam and Eve both found shame in their nakedness. Though one must wonder, was it that, or was the shame they felt for their disobedience?

There is one thing that we need to look at here. As we read in 8-12, we find something that at first seems odd. HaShem is asking were they are, then ask how told them they were naked. So why was that?
Can it be that HaShem was giving them the opportunity to confess their sin to Him?
Or was it that He know they needed to, so that they would see the wrong in what they had done?

When we look at Adam, saying he was afraid, one can draw a parallel to Israel when HaShem spoke to them at Sinai. The people were scared, and told Moses to talk to HaShem, they thought they would die if HaShem spoke to them directly. Ex. 19.
Gen 3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.

This passage has been the focus of some debate. As in all debates their are 2 sides. Here one side thinks, (as it can not be proven) that this was the first Day of Atonement. They say that the skins were from a goat, yet that is not in the Word, and I have looked in some 25 translations to see.
On the other side, they stay with in the Word, and teach simply that it was the skins of an unknown animal. Holding to the idea that none of the feast were in place at this time. It would be interesting to hear what some of you may think.
As for me, I do think that the sacrificial system did start here. That HaShem took this time to show Adam what needed to be done, and told him way. If He hadn't, then what we find chapter 4 may lead to things best left unsaid, or even thought.
I am looking foreword to hearing your thoughts on this one. I know I didn't use much for out side scripture, that is mainly due the lack of any that hold any further elaboration on this topic.
I believe the animal scorns that covered Adam-and-Eve were revelation 13:8 The lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If you believe in the types and shadows in the animal that covered Adam-and-Eve would have to be a shadow of what was to come

As we move on, we find that in chapter 3 of Gen, It opens with the first sin of man kind. I have seen that some say it was sex. When asked how that can bee as HaShem told them to multiply? I got the strangest answer. it was something like this. Keep in mind this has been some time ago, so it is not a direct quote.
Eve had sex with the serpent, and that was where Cain from. Now just nut's is that? There are a lot of people that follow this teaching however. It has been used for years to show that just because a man tells us something, it needs to be studied in it's context, from Gen. to Rev.
21 The LORD God, made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. He showed them the first animal sacrifice. In Genesis 2:25 we are told they were naked and not ashamed. Then they sinned and knew they lost some kind of a covering so they try and make their own from fig leafs. God showed them this would not work by the sacrifice. God did not only make the garment for them to have but he clothed (covered) them himself. We must let God do the covering and summit to his will.

Hebrews 9:22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Isaiah 61:10 I will rejoice greatly in the LORD, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Abel's sacrifice
Genesis 3:21 The LORD God made clothes from animal skins for the man and his wife and dressed them.
For Adam and Eve to know they were naked they must have had a covering before the fall. Their sin removed the covering . A animal died to give them a covering.
Cain and Able were under the covering of their parents faith who would have schooled them in the ways of God.

Romans 10:17 for faith is from the hearing ear, and the hearing ear is from the word of God

Able had faith and trusted in what he learned from his parents. When the boys were at the age of accountability they needed now to bring their own sacrifice to the LORD at the designated time
.
Genesis 3 At the designated time Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground. 4Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering.

This means that they were told about the blood.

Hebrews 11:4- By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Hebrews 9:22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

Hebrews 12:24 - And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than [that of] Abel

Hebrews 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, "SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME
Revelation 13:8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the Lamb's book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.

[QUOTE=Rainrider;3176706
This chapter opens with the birth of Cain and Able. At first glance some may say he was born after the expulsion from the garden. As the Word does not tell us the answer to that all one can do is think for them selves. As the answer holds no barring on Salvation, or any of the works of HaShem that follow, is there really reason to have an answer? If there is, then would not HaShem have told us?
Yeshua picture in Able
1 Yeshua and Able were Shepherds. John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:2 , John 10:14 , Isaiah 40:11 , Psalm 23:1 and 1 Peter 2:25
2 Yeshua and Able killed by their brethren with no cause. Psalm 38:19 Many have become my enemies without cause; those who hate me without reason are numerous. John 7:19, Mark 11:18 , John 7:1and Acts 2:36
3 Yeshua and Able their brethren were Jealous of him. Matthew 27:18 For he knew that it was out of envy that they had delivered him up
4 Yeshua and Able killed by the wicked, Acts 2:23 This man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross Luke 22:22 1 John 3:12
5 Both Yeshua and Able offered a lamb to God. 1 Peter 1:19 with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect John 1:29
6 The wicked who killed Yeshua and Able were punished and taken out of the land Mark 12 and 70 AD ,Genesis 4:16-17
7. both Yeshua and Able are called righteous Hebrews 11:4 - By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh Luke 23:47
8 Both of the offerings of Yeshua and Able still speak to this day Hebrews 12:24 to Yeshua the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. Genesis 4:10 Matthew 23:35 Revelation 6:10 Zechariah 9:11
John 5:39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,

I don't thikn that was implied at all. May I ask that you please explain that, so we may try and clear that up? I sure don't want anyone to think I said or implied any of that. Adam as best I know, has never been seen as Satan.
As for the mark placed on Cain, please read,
Gen 4:15 ¶And the LORD said to him, “Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.” And the LORD set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.

If the mark was not know to man, then how would they not to kill him? It seems clear that this mark was known to man, and they knew what it meant as well.
life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,
Genesis 4:15 But the LORD said to him, "Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.
Genesis 4:24 If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy times seven".
This is the first time the number 490 comes up. It is shown as a complete judgment
Daniel 9:24 24 “Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.
490 comes up again in complete judgment .
It looks like there are 7 periods of 490 years that God will judge his people for good or bad. These times stop in count when Israel is removed from God sight.
There is also found in this the feast of weeks 49 days
7 year Sabbath
And Jubilee “You are to count seven sabbatic years, seven times seven years, so that the time period of the seven sabbatic years amounts to 49
Matthew 18:23-35 This is about end time judgment and those people who would not forgive.
Matthew 18:24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
This is a picture of the antichrist. In the book of Esther Haman is a picture of the Anti Christ.
Esther 3:9 If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to destroy them, and I will put ten thousand talents of silver into the royal treasury for the men who carry out this business."

Rainrider: The report we have of the ark is symbolic of our redemption. Eight humans were saved, Noah, his 3 sons, and their wives. Eight is the number of redemption.

In very 29 it starts with the words "God said". Much of scripture is written as a result of the spiritual input to a human, he must use his own words to explain what comes from the Lord. But when we see the words "God said" it is given to the writer in exact words. When we see this we must pay special attention.

Scripture is telling what is food at this time. Of course, animals and humans could choose to eat anything for we have choices, they could even eat dirt. But only what God gave them to eat was food for them. Later God will assign certain meat as also food, but not at that time.
Genesis 6:3 jubilee X 120 = 6000 years for man.
Noah a shadow of Yeshua
Noah’s name means rest
Noah’s Father said he would bring us comfort from the curse on the world Matthew 11:28
They both walked with God.
Noah built an ark to save his family. Yeshua is the Ark to save who so ever will come. Then there is the Jewish wedding where the bridegroom goes and builds a place for his bride and then comes and gets her.
Living things under Noah’s authority, Everything is under Yeshua’s authority
Noah is the giver of food to all that is in the Ark. Yeshua is the bread of life
Yeshua and the Ark save us from God’s wrath and gives us victory over Satan’s assaults
Yeshua and the Ark
Both the Idea of God.
Both life saving
The Ark and knowing Yeshua was done by divine revelation
Yeshua and the Ark give from God’s mercy and grace.
God invites man into the Ark and God pleads with man come to my son.
The ark had 1 door, Yeshua is the Door
The Ark has a window into heaven. Yeshua gave out the teachings of God.
We are to look to god for everything even with a storm around us.
The Ark had many rooms for the animals. Our father’s house has many rooms.
The Ark completely covered the people and Yeshua completely covers us.
The Ark rested on the 17th of Nissan. This would have been first fruits the Day Yeshua was raised from the dead.

Gen 7:6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters were on the earth.

Many things in life can bring a man down, or lift them up. We know that HaShem can give a man the straight to do His will, if that ma is willing to do so. We are not told that Noah had any help at all, then we are also not told he didn't. Many follow that Noah did all the work on his own, with no help at all. Een seen a movie once that showed it in this manner.

How ever if one thinks about it, his sons would have right by his side working, and getting things done. Well I say would have, I should say most likely would have. As we know in the days of old, family always worked together, no mater what the job. The sons would almost always take over the family trade, one that they knew well. As they would learn it from the time they could start to help. Even if it was just pulling water from a well. or opening a gate.

Gen 7:8 Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of birds, and of everything that creeps on the earth,
Gen 7:9 two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.

This text shows us that Noah didn't go out on the largest round up in history. Rather the animals seem to have came to him. Giving us the info we need to say that all animals of the earth, also did what HaShem wanted them to. I could build a full sermon on this, yet in doing so I would be injecting my own teaching. I know I have at some points in this already, even though I really do try not to.

Yet even on this, we can many teachings. One that come to mind is a good example of not letting the Bible tell us what it truly says, and injecting our own thoughts in. Even at the risk of removing the divine wisdom and power of HaShem.
In that teaching, they take the stand that Noah got the giants to help, by telling them he(Noah) was taking the worst beast so they would have more room for what they wanted. This as the story goes, made everyone happy, so they all helped out. There are many things wrong with this story however. The people at that time were so consumed by their own wants, they would have cared less, and most likely made fun of Noah, as he worked to get all the animals in the ark. Also, if HaShem had not lead the animals, every time Noah opened the door to get the bunch in, the first ones would be trying to get out. Wild animals, simply don't like being locked up. Watch them at the zoo some time. I mean really watch them. You can see they looked unhappy.

One other teaching that just popped in my head. Teaches that as the animals went inside, they shrank. An elephant would be the size the of a large dog, and so on. Also, their mouths were closed, so the didn't need food. This as they teach, was all done to add Noah in the care of the animals, and to keep them from fighting. Now I know that all sound fantastic, yet it is not out the scope of HaShem's power. So what may I ask do think? Or do you hold a teaching that is not on here? If so, would you mind filling us in?

Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

The one teaching I really like on this will be the first.
In this, we are told that there was only one continent. It is called Pangaea today. When the fountains of the deep broke open, this also broke up Pangaea, forcing the land mass to drift. As the water under it, was forced out, the land masses drifted fast, some think they may have been moving at speed of up to 100 miles an hour, They slowed over time to (what I think is) 2 CM a year. I won't get into the full teaching, as that would take a long time. I will point out a show on Nextfilx that if you can watch it, gives most of this teaching. It is called, "IS GENESIS HISTORY"

The next one tells us that this was not the case. The water under the earth, just bubbled up slowly. The rain came down in a gentile manner, slowly covering the earth. This also I can see. As the we are told,
Gen 7:18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters.

This passage does seem to indicate that it was slow, and not as horrific as the first teaching would lead one to think. Both work in my mind, as I have seen first hand that a little 1/4" hole in the water main behind my house, turned my yard into a swamp in just a week. It took the city 5 weeks to fix the leak, and in that time, I had to dam of teh water to keep it from softening the ground under the foundation of the house. The city has said that if I find any sinking of the foundation, they will get teh house raised and foundation fixed. Yet just to see the back 1/2 of my yard under 5" of water, in a short time, due to a small leak, opened my eyes to just how slow the flood could come, and still cover the earth in just 40 days.

I skipped some on this, I am going to back to it in my next posting. As there is still some things to look at. I skipped so that I could cover the flood, and how it may have came about, with out being forced to interrupt the flow of thought. PUN not intended.
From what I have read about this only the unclean animals came to Noah. The clean animals Noah had to Gen 7:2 "TAKE" meaning he had to put effort into it because they were animals that could be sacrificed and that means Noah would have to work at it.
