I actually red Acts this morning where Peter had his dream and nowhere it says that he did eat. Even when he recollected the vision he never said that he ate anything.
There is so much misundersrandinging about what is good to eat, what is the law and do we need to follow it, what does the Lord mean about clean and unclean.

When God created on the first day he started with what is transcribed as darkness, but the hebrew work for what he started with meant evil, without God. The first thing God did was add God--and the hebrew word for that is owl meaning all of what we call good. But is our world we have time, God has eternity. We have opposites. Good and bad, up and down, dark and light, hope and despair. We are given free choice, we can choose anything we want. God wants us to choose the good, and when we co it results in good for us. Steal and you go to jail, give and good happens. Built people up and it is good for us, tear them down and there is a whiplash effect for us. The spiritual results are grave.

In Acts when it speak of the vision of eating animals that "God has made clean" it is a symbolic vision and strict reading of scripture will tell you. The meaning of it is that gentiles that accept God are cleaned by God.

Until this time, what was happening in the Jewish church was that ALL gentiles did not have the true God as their God. If they accepted God they were required to accept the Jewish culture. All the letters of the NT speak of it. That dream turned the world around, for you and I can lean of the Lord with what that vision started.

What works do you think the little baby Moses did while floating over the waters amongst the reeds in that REFUGE of a temporal basket?

Noah believed GOD. He believed in the coming destruction, he did what GOD told him to do (build an ark) and he preached to the people the truth of the coming destruction Noah pointed al men to the ark and (THE REFUGE which GOD had provided)

but only those who listened and entered in were saved

By the way what do you think of RDKirk's input?
and now upon reading Gandalf's same response about the ark?

And what does "eight" signify?
Found nothing from a RDKirk.
I am not into Kabbalah , so really the meanings of number and letters hold little value for me.

Why? Really I would like an answer. You see to have a misunderstanding of this, means that there is a lack of knowledge, this would show a lack of true teaching on the parts of many in leader ship, would it not?

I know I skiped over chapter one, I like to save the best for last. Chapter 1 of Gen. is my favorite chapter of the Word. As it holds so much, and if study for every it gives, can take close to a year on it's own.

Amen, and I don't mind telling you, in my at home study, we are going to get into a study on just Peters vision. I am sure it will be fun, and that we will learn a lot from it.

Oh don't worry about it
i do t even know what Kabbalah is
however every Jewish family covenanted to GOD should have understood exodus 12 and the significance of that mark

as for my error in the name of the poster let me just pull up His post so that you could look at it. I would have thought you had already read it and pondered it but maybe you passed over in your zeal to list chapter upon chapter in some sort of attempted monologue with no dialogue involved with the posters here

or st least, the picking and choosing of those whom you wish to respond to
what kind of "light" would you be showing if you were face to face in a bible study and you just disregarded some of the people's responses?

Look! you responded to one of Blik's post but passed over the other where he mentioned the ark as the same Hebraic term
used for the basket which sheltered Moses through the waters of Egypt

Rainrider: I would like to add some things from this chapter. Noah was given strict instructions about how to build the ark. The ark was for his salvation. We are given strict instructions for our salvation. Noah was to act on these instructions and the Lord would take care of all the rest.

It is the same for our salvation. We are given strict instructions to follow and God will take care of all the rest.

The Ark was called tevah in Hebrew, the same word was used for the basket the baby Moses was put in to be saved.

Here it is Rainrider
it appears you didn't seem to "like" his post and felt no need to respond to it?

what is your thoughts on his insight into the Hebrew word for the ark and the ark/basket which Moses was placed in

I know from past experience with you that I'm an unwelcome guest at your bible study and that you had resorted to not responding to me

that was fine
and I even stopped asking you questions in the hopes that this thread would stop getting responses

you aren't giving the WORD thoroughly. And you tell people that you will (for ease and simplicity) pass over certain things?

That isn't a study of GOD's WORD

Alas this thread keeps popping up because you keep going on not responding to all involved and only offering portions of GOD's WORD!

and so here I am asking questions which you continue to pass over

therefore I was wondering if you could respond to Blik

Sorry for my persistence
but if you're going to have a study from Genesis to Revelation

Please let it be thoroughly GOD's WORD

Wheb people are only given bits and pieces of GOD's WORD...it distorts GOD's WORD

Getting the name right is kind of important when you ask someone to read a post. As for what post I answer and don't answer, well some do seem to want an answer, others don't. As it seem you are once more headed down the road of being ugly, I will ignore you for a time. Thank you.

Reading and listening rather than skimming over posts is even more imprtant

i wouldn't care if you got my name right in a bible study

but if you just ignored what I said and passed my questions and comments over, that I do thiink is much more important than calling me by the wrong name or not even knowing my name

you must have not read his post
because if you did, at the mention of Moses and the basket, it should have at least stirred your memory so that you would have been reminded of it and should have known exactly where to find the post in question

That's okay if you ignore me. I'm pretty sure that you have been for quite some time already

I don't feel offended when I am ignored in a Bible study thread because I add my 2 cents worth as the person goes along.

A Bibles study should not be one sided because then it is one person's opinion. We have to jump in and dissect the word with the poster and go with the flow of the thread.

My opinion. Thank you RR for taking time and discussing God's word.

Gen 7:6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters were on the earth.

Many things in life can bring a man down, or lift them up. We know that HaShem can give a man the straight to do His will, if that ma is willing to do so. We are not told that Noah had any help at all, then we are also not told he didn't. Many follow that Noah did all the work on his own, with no help at all. Een seen a movie once that showed it in this manner.

How ever if one thinks about it, his sons would have right by his side working, and getting things done. Well I say would have, I should say most likely would have. As we know in the days of old, family always worked together, no mater what the job. The sons would almost always take over the family trade, one that they knew well. As they would learn it from the time they could start to help. Even if it was just pulling water from a well. or opening a gate.

Gen 7:8 Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of birds, and of everything that creeps on the earth,
Gen 7:9 two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.

This text shows us that Noah didn't go out on the largest round up in history. Rather the animals seem to have came to him. Giving us the info we need to say that all animals of the earth, also did what HaShem wanted them to. I could build a full sermon on this, yet in doing so I would be injecting my own teaching. I know I have at some points in this already, even though I really do try not to.

Yet even on this, we can many teachings. One that come to mind is a good example of not letting the Bible tell us what it truly says, and injecting our own thoughts in. Even at the risk of removing the divine wisdom and power of HaShem.
In that teaching, they take the stand that Noah got the giants to help, by telling them he(Noah) was taking the worst beast so they would have more room for what they wanted. This as the story goes, made everyone happy, so they all helped out. There are many things wrong with this story however. The people at that time were so consumed by their own wants, they would have cared less, and most likely made fun of Noah, as he worked to get all the animals in the ark. Also, if HaShem had not lead the animals, every time Noah opened the door to get the bunch in, the first ones would be trying to get out. Wild animals, simply don't like being locked up. Watch them at the zoo some time. I mean really watch them. You can see they looked unhappy.

One other teaching that just popped in my head. Teaches that as the animals went inside, they shrank. An elephant would be the size the of a large dog, and so on. Also, their mouths were closed, so the didn't need food. This as they teach, was all done to add Noah in the care of the animals, and to keep them from fighting. Now I know that all sound fantastic, yet it is not out the scope of HaShem's power. So what may I ask do think? Or do you hold a teaching that is not on here? If so, would you mind filling us in?

Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

The one teaching I really like on this will be the first.
In this, we are told that there was only one continent. It is called Pangaea today. When the fountains of the deep broke open, this also broke up Pangaea, forcing the land mass to drift. As the water under it, was forced out, the land masses drifted fast, some think they may have been moving at speed of up to 100 miles an hour, They slowed over time to (what I think is) 2 CM a year. I won't get into the full teaching, as that would take a long time. I will point out a show on Nextfilx that if you can watch it, gives most of this teaching. It is called, "IS GENESIS HISTORY"

The next one tells us that this was not the case. The water under the earth, just bubbled up slowly. The rain came down in a gentile manner, slowly covering the earth. This also I can see. As the we are told,
Gen 7:18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters.

This passage does seem to indicate that it was slow, and not as horrific as the first teaching would lead one to think. Both work in my mind, as I have seen first hand that a little 1/4" hole in the water main behind my house, turned my yard into a swamp in just a week. It took the city 5 weeks to fix the leak, and in that time, I had to dam of teh water to keep it from softening the ground under the foundation of the house. The city has said that if I find any sinking of the foundation, they will get teh house raised and foundation fixed. Yet just to see the back 1/2 of my yard under 5" of water, in a short time, due to a small leak, opened my eyes to just how slow the flood could come, and still cover the earth in just 40 days.

I skipped some on this, I am going to back to it in my next posting. As there is still some things to look at. I skipped so that I could cover the flood, and how it may have came about, with out being forced to interrupt the flow of thought. PUN not intended.

No need to thank me. I am only doing as my heart leads me.
I will however say that I am not happy about felling the need to over look any one. It is just that I have seen some people on here go from nice, to angry, even if they have to hunt for a reason to do so. I have seen it on so many threads, and all I can think is, "Really? how does this show the love of HaShem in anyway."
I do like to see your 2 cents for sure. I may not answer ever post, then does everyone on here answer ever single post on every thread? Ok some may.
Keep up the good work my friend. I may not agree with every thing you say, yet it always gives food for thought. That as we know leads to seeking ones heart for truth, and better understanding. Well it should anyway.

Just like the ark of the covenant, Noah’s ark also had three levels. Our universe is also divided into three levels. Earth, universe (space) and heaven (where God is).

Other interesting thing about Genesis 6:14 is that the words describing the pitch are two different words:

The first pitch is the Hebrew word kaw-far'
A primitive root; to cover (specifically with bitumen); figuratively to expiate or condone,to placate or cancel: - appease, make(an) atonement, cleanse, disannul, forgive, be merciful, pacify, pardon, topitch, purge (away), put off, (make) reconcile (-liation).

The second word is ko'-fer
properly a cover, that is, (literally) a village (as covered in); (specifically) bitumen (as used for coating), and the henna plant (as used for dyeing);figuratively a redemption price: - bribe, camphire, pitch, ransom, satisfaction, sum of money, village.

But let us dig a bit deeper into this verse:

Gen 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

The word make is the Hebrew word aw-saw'A primitive root; to do or make, in the broadest sense andwidest application: - accomplish, advance, appoint, apt, be at, become, bear, bestow.

The word ark is
tay-baw'a box: - ark. The root work for ark is and An empty space needingto be filled. This root is closely related to aband ib. (eng: be - as somethingthat exists filling a void)

go'-ferFrom an unused root, probably meaning to house in; a kind of tree or wood (as used for building), apparently the cypress: - gopher.

Wood is ates, a tree(from its firmness); hence wood(plural sticks): - + carpenter, gallows, helve, + pine, plank, staff, stalk, stick, stock, timber, tree, wood.

What is the picture if we put this all together?

We have to appoint somebody to fill the void that will house us in; a carpenter on/with a stick that will clean us, forgive, pardon us and be merciful to us. He will reconcile us (to the Father – my interpretation) and pay a redemption price for us.

LOL If we always had to agree there would be no need for a Bible discussion forum :p
