Why is Moses not in the lineage of Christ?

Considering how significant person Moses was, why is he outside of Christ' lineage?

"This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham:

Abraham was the father of Isaac,

Isaac the father of Jacob,

Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,

Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar,

Perez the father of Hezron,

Pretty simple. Moses was from the tribe of Levi, not Judah. Jesus Christ is descended from Judah.

Moses was of the tribe of Levi. The Line of promise was to come through Judah.

Mary and Elizabeth were cousins Their mothers were sisters .. Elizabeth was married to Zacharias, a Levitical Priest who also brought forth John the Baptist, which was cousin to Christ .

Christ's Genealogy is in Luke 3. It means Christ was both of the tribes of Judah and Levi. He is both Priest and King.
It would be good if you took time to study the chapter.

Not sure its going to answer your question exactly, but just go with what the Bible teaches .

God was very specific with who Christ would be born through, which line of people. And there maybe reasons given in one case or the other for how the line came about that was picked by God .. Would be a study throughout the entire OT to get a good grasp of it .

The "sceptre" represents royal authority and Shiloh" (Heb sheelo) is another title of Christ, and means "He whose it is" or "that which belongs to Him" -- a Messianic title. Since Jesus came from the tribe of Judah, it was imperative that His High Priesthood be of the order of Melchizedek, not the Aaronic priesthood (from the tribe of Levi). And since Moses was also of the tribe of Levi, he would not qualify to be in Messiah's line.

Because the Lord did not see the necessity of having Moses in the lineage of Christ and Abraham was the father of the Jews, not Moses. Moses brought the Law, that was his destiny, it was not to be part of the lineage of Christ.

OK, I will rephrase my question:

Why is Moses from the tribe of Levi and not of Judah?

Moses is very clearly an image of Christ (leading people from the slavery to promised land), so it seems strange he is from another tribe.

He also ruled over Israel, if we can say it in this way.
