Oneness or Trinity?

I do not believe in the trinity. The word "trinity" is not in the Bible. Jesus is the SON of God.

A: you keep using the same argument, just because the word trinity is not in the Bible, doesn't mean the definition of the trinity isn't in there. (1 John 5:7)
B: maybe you can't be 2 separate things, but God is not limited to one form, so yeah, He can be God and God's Son, for all things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27, and 14:36)
C: to answer your last question, He's both, and much more
 
Well I said the trinity but I also want to know what you meant by oneness. The trinity is 1God 2Jesus 3Spirit. 3 in 1 body… so in that way yes there are three sections but they are one person like a clover leaf.. it has three little humps but they are connected and made in one leaf! 3 in 1!! I just had a thought or something, its like God is all around us Jesus is in our heart and the Holy spirit is guiding us! More to it then that but it’s the basics…

Hmm you may think this is a lil weird but this is what comes to mind….. ok so its like this huge clover is covering the earth and everything and it has those 3 humps each hump is its own being but is joined together at the root making it one thing Jesus is accentually the son of oh lets say the first hump he bent himself down to earth to die for our sins he has an equal role he is a ruler accentually the ruler but God is his father so he does and agrees with what he says. (sorta kina what I meant to say but yea) does that remotely make any sense? :)

Oneness as in ourselves. We are made up of body, mind, and Spirit. But we are one entity.

Father and Son are titles that God has. He Is Both Father and the Son. When we go to Heaven we will only see Jesus. No other entity of God.
 
The bible is peppered with the markings of a trinity, people who hold Unitarianism, that's foolishness. You can't tell me honestly that you come to the Bible, read it and then come to that view. No someone told you that, or you are unsaved, and you change it to your own interpretation rather than what the Bible actually says
For Example

Galatians 3
14For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from whom his whole family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. The father strengthens, how? through the Holy Spirit, so we can do what? by Faith Christ might dwell in us.

20 and 21, Him(father) according to his power that is at work within us(Holy Spirit) and in Christ Jesus(the Son)
Here is another From Isaiah
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, [a] Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Wonderful Counselor(Holy Spirit) Everlasting father(Father)

but we are not our own God so then oneness has nothing to do with our God so then oneness is out unless it about God
 
The Bible is Clear that God is ONE Not, three in one. Not 2 in one. But One. God doesn't share his glory with anyone. Jesus Is God. 1Ti 3:16. I have prayed about the matter, and asked God to show me himself. I bet you were taught about the Trinity weren't you? The word Trinity is Never found in the Bible; especially in reference to God. However the word One is referenced countless times in reference to God.

"Hear O Israel, the Lord thy God is one, LORD."

God has different counsels, or roles, or jobs that he does. When son is referenced to God, it is because we are the Children of God. And we are to be like Jesus. Therefore if we follow the role that God plays as the Son; that is our model of how we are to act as Children of God.

Now Father: A Father places judgment on his Children, and has also created them. EX. The Founding Fathers of Confederation. They are called the fathers of Confederation, because the Founded it or Created it. As a Child I'm sure your Earthly father has placed a judgment on your actions. Likewise some day God will place judgment on all of his Children.

The Holy Spirit; Well God is a Spirit right?

There are evidence for both in the Bible. But, Jesus said it himself. "Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

From what I understand there are many more people who believe in the Trinity, than people who believe in Oneness.

You may use the verse Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

But it is clear that it is Singular, and Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is not a Name. But The name of these three is Jesus.
Jesus said I and my Father are one. And that the comforter that which is the Holy Ghost, the Father will send in My NAME.

Jesus is the only God. There is no Triune. If there were then we would also be. But we are one, just as my God is one. For I am made in His Image.
 
yes but we have sin in our lives and sin is not in his imige we have to get back to that state with God. and to call ourselves God is not rigth God is God

I believe you read into what I'm saying. I never said I was God. But My Body is the Temple of God.
1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own

I was just giving an example of How God is one not Three, we are one and not three. I decided to use us as an example instead of a clover :P

in that case you missunderstood my first post i am in full agreement that God is one being. i now get what you were saying about us being one person though. so God is still one being, father, son and holy spirit.

It may be weird to interject this late in a thread, but i would have to disagree with this statement. God is more than capable of being manifest in all three of his "forms" if you will at once.
 
then now i am really lost cuz in that case oness and trinity are the same thing.... sence that was just an etc.

The trinity makes NO sense. The trinity states that God exists in 3 entities.!

More like the other way around, three entities exist in God. You can believe in oneness if you want to, but I'll stick to the definitive judgment of the Church.

Polycarp (70-155/160 A.D.). Bishop of Smyrna. Disciple of John the Apostle.

"O Lord God almighty... I bless you and glorify you through the eternal and heavenly high priest Jesus Christ, your beloved Son, through whom be glory to you, with Him and the Holy Spirit, both now and forever" (n. 14, ed. Funk; PG 5.1040).

Justin Martyr (100?-165? A.D.). He was a Christian apologist and martyr.

"For, in the name of God, the Father and Lord of the universe, and of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, they then receive the washing with water" (First Apol., LXI).

Tertullian (160-215 A.D.)

"We define that there are two, the Father and the Son, and three with the Holy Spirit, and this number is made by the pattern of salvation... [which] brings about unity in trinity, interrelating the three, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are three, not in dignity, but in degree, not in substance but in form, not in power but in kind. They are of one substance and power, because there is one God from whom these degrees, forms and kinds devolve in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit." (Adv. Prax. 23; PL 2.156-7).

Furthermore the Nicene Creed which was declared to be binding dogma by the Council of Nicaea in A.D. 325 in opposition to the Arians says thus:

the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The oneness movement is basically Arianism. It is just a old heresy with a new name. But, the following reasons are why i believe in the Trinity. The divine teaching authority of the Church has proclaimed it so and the scriptures testify to it. If i believed anything else i would be anathema.
