The truly scandalous thing is you make God says things in the New Covenant He does not.

In fact please find the phrase in Greek unrepentant sin?

Known UNREPENTANT SIN will keep you out of God's Kingdom.

Hello UG,

It is not because you say so but because God says so.... Only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow it over the teachings and traditions or men that lead others to break to the commandments of God.

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Calling yourself a child of God does not make you such ONLY the FRUIT shows what FAITH you have. The Jews claimed to be the children of God because they were Abraham's seed. Jesus said to them this is NOT true if you were Abraham's children you would do the works of Abraham.

God's people in the days of Jesus claimed to the the children of Abraham all the while planning how they might kill Jesus.

Known UNREPENTANT SIN will keep you out of God's Kingdom.

Hi UG,

There is nothing scandalous about God's Word. It is God's Word and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God. Only those who by Faith that works by LOVE, BELIEVE and FOLLOW GOD's WORD are His people.

If there is NO FRUIT there is NO LOVE and the axe is laid at the root of the tree because you are still in your SINS. KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will keep you out of God's Kingdom unless you repent and seek God's Forgiveness.

In times of ignorance God WINKS at but when a knowledge of the truth has come calls all men everywhere to repent.

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

Hello UG,

If you do not know God's Word how can you know the truth? If you do not know the truth you are in danger of being carried about with every wind of doctrine.....

James 2
10,
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11,
For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Hebrews 10

26, For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 6
4, For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7, For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes oft upon it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:
8, But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

1 John 2
3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that saith, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 3
6, Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Only God's Word is true and we should Believe and Follow him who LOVES all.

Amen! SDA's play the same game in salvation as every other false movement of Christendom. They profess to teach that salvation is by grace through faith, but they redefine this in a way that is contrary to New Testament doctrine through their subtle mixture of law and grace, which results in salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works.

None of what you have said above is true at all. Funny here is me all this time thinking you are teaching another Gospel.

What is the other Gospel?

It is a Gospel that tries to separate God's Law (10 commandments) from the Cross. The counterfeit Gospel is out there. It is a Gospel that tries to separate God's 10 commandments from the plan of salvation.

Why is God's Law important to helping someone to have faith in Christ alone?

Because it is only through the Law of God (10 commandments) that any of us have a knowledge of what sin is ( 1John 3:4; Rom 3:20; 24 ). If we do away with God's Law we have no knowledge of sin. If we have no knowledge of sin we have no need of a savior. If we have no need of a savior we have no salvation. If we have no salvation we are lost. "For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law." ( Rom 2:12 ).

God's Law shows us that we are sinners in need of a savior. God's Law was given to us that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God ( Rom 3:19 ). It shows us that we are sinners and cannot save ourselves from this disease that we have within us so that we can by Faith lay hold of the promises of God's Words s o that Jesus can save us from our sins. Jesus did not come to save the righteous (those that think they do not need saving) but sinners (those that know their need of saving) ( Matt 9:12-13; Mark 2:17; Luke 5:32 ) God's Law has always been part of the true Gospel of Christ. The counterfeit Gospel does not have it. God's forever Law (the 10 commandments) is the foundation of both the Ol d and the New Covenant and the very foundation and basis of the true Gospel of Christ. It will be the basis of the judgement where we will all be accountable to God.

The Law of God is the only way of showing us who we truly are, sinners in need of a Saviour and in this condition we can see for the first time Him who loved us and washed us in His own blood and by faith only lay hold of the promises of God’s Word. ( 2Pet 1:4 ) It is here as we believe God that he changes us from living a life of breaking God's Law to a life of walking with him. It is through the operation of God through Love because he first loved us that we follow Jesus not for salvation but because of love. Love is the fulfilling of God's Law in us who walk not after the flesh (carnal sinful mind) but after the spirit and why Jesus says to his followers, "If you love me keep the commandments" ( John 14:15 ).

People cannot see that this is the operation of God in the believer and assume God's people believe they are saved by their works, when in fact Jesus is saving us from our sins to walk in newness of life in fulfillment of His new Covenant promise ( Heb 8:10-12 )...... Gods Sheep hear His Voice salvation is from sin and sin is the transgression of God's Law ( 1John 3:4 ) whosoever is living in sin has neither seen him nor known him ( 1John 3:6 ) ............

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten ( Exodus 20:8-11 ) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness w e are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

Here is verse out of context for you, how come you never use this one?

"For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also." Hebrews 7:12

Here are a few more you should quote sometimes too

"We are not under the law" (Rom. 6:14; Gal. 5:18).
We are dead to the law (Rom. 7:4).
We are delivered from the law (Rom. 7:6).
Christ is the end of the law (Rom. 10:4).
“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ .... we are no longer under a schoolmaster" (Gal. 3:24, 25
"The law" has been abolished (Eph. 2:15)

If it is a different Gospel from "1 Cor. 15:1-4" then it is a false gospel. As far as being saved:
Eph 2:.."For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

Amen! The Gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16).

To “believe” the Gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. The Gospel is a message of grace to be received through faith. The Gospel is not a set of rituals to perform, a code of laws to be obeyed or a check list of good works to accomplish as a prerequisite for salvation.

The Gospel is also not the 10 commandments or salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works. SDA’S teach a "different" gospel. A "works based" FALSE gospel (Galatians 1:6-9).

The new covenant or the New Testament is a will written in the blood of Jesus. The will of inheritance. The "will" of God.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Jesus is our inheritance. His whole life, the New Testament.

All that He is, we have inherited. And Waggles was right in his post. We inherited or received His will on the day of Pentecost.

The New Covenant is our debt is no longer "rented" yearly by bulls and goats but paid in full by Messiah. Accepting Messiah, G-d has given us the Holy Spirit, as a down payment for the ransom. There will be a day (not yet) that G-d writes His Law on the tablets of all mans hearts and we will no longer have to teach each other the Word of G-d. This will happen when Messiah returns, obviously men are still picking up sward and their plowshares against each other. Jeremiah.... not sure exact Scripture 33 something... Mae paraphase....

No one can understands a writers thesis by only citing a few verses from the main body.
You have proved nothing, I have a Bible, I have several as a matter of fact.
It is called topical bible study line upon line and precept upon precept here a little there a little as guided by the teacher who knows and loves all. Jesus says; I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receives not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. I suggest you read God's Word for yourself asking Jesus to be your teacher...

Here is verse out of context for you, how come you never use this one?
"For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also." Hebrews 7:12
Hello UG this scripture ties in very nicely with the COL 2 thread linked here Now can you show me this is referring to God's 10 commandments or is it referring to the Mosaic laws for remission of sin? The link above will show you the scriptures.

Here are a few more you should quote sometimes too "We are not under the law" (Rom. 6:14; Gal. 5:18).
We are not "Under the Law" if we have repented and confessed our sins and are no longer practicing them as we have Faith that God has forgiven us. IF how ever you are still in your SINS and practicing known UNREPENTANT SIN you are still Under the LAW and because you have broken it and unless you REPENT will receive the penalty for sin because you have rejected the Gift of God's dear son.

ONLY BELIEVERS ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH .............

Romans 3
9, What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: FOR WE HAVE BEFORE PROVED BOTH JEW AND GENTILES, THAT THEY ARE ALL UNDER SIN.

Romans 3
23, FALL ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD;

Romans 3
19, NOW WE KNOW THAT WHAT THINGS SO EVER THE LAW SAYS, IT SAYS TO THEM UNDER THE LAW; THAT EVERY MOUTH MAY BE STOPPED AND ALL THE WORLD BECOME GUILTY BEFORE GOD.

Romans 2
6, He will repay each one according to his works:
7, To them who by patient continuance in WELL DOING seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:
8, But unto them that are contentious, and DO NOT OBEY THE TRUTH, but OBEY UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, INDIGNATION AND WRATH,
9, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10, But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11, For there is no respect of persons with God.
12, For AS MANY AS HAVE SINNED WITHOUT THE LAW SHALL ALSO PERISH WITHOUT THE LAW: and AS MANY AS HAVE SINNED UNDER THE LAW shall be judged by the law;
13, For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Romans 8
1, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2, FOR THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST HAS MADE ME FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH .
3, For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH: <Why?>
4, THAT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE LAW MIGHT BE FULFILLED IN US WHO WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT.

Romans 6
12, Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13, Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14, For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law <SIN AND DEATH>, but under grace.
15, What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16, Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17, But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart <NEW heart> that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

You are under the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH IF YOU ARE LIVING A LIFE OF KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN!

If you have accepted God's gift of Grace by FAITH you are FREE from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH meaning you are NOW FREE NOT TO SIN because you have been forgiven and now have the POWER to walk in NEWNESS of LIFE........

Those living in known UNREPENTANT SIN do NOT KNOW Him who LOVES all and need to SEEK Him in REPENTANCE and CONFESSION of SIN because they do not KNOW God and are NOT FREE from SIN.

1 John 3
3, And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

We are dead to the law (Rom. 7:4).
Try reading the rest of the verse and the rest of the chapter it is not saying that God's law (10 commandments) is no more. It is saying we are dead to the law of SIN and DEATH by faith in Christ we should live in newness of life through the Spirit being dead to sin to bring forth FRUIT of obedience to God and the process of conversion. (Romans 7:4; 5-7; 12-14; 25)

We are delivered from the law (Rom. 7:6).
ditto... as above

Christ is the end of the law (Rom. 10:4).
“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ .... we are no longer under a schoolmaster" (Gal. 3:24, 25
"The law" has been abolished (Eph. 2:15)
Absolutely! This is the purpose of God's Law to bring us to Jesus without it how do we know we need a Savior? This includes God's 4th commandment which is one of the 10.

We are no longer Under the Schoolmaster because God's Law has brought us to Christ that we might be justified by FAITH to walk as he walked in His Spirit. The same way that we receive His we are to walk in him by FAITH. Now does that ABOLISH God's LAW? ABSOLUTELY NOT it only says we are not Under the LAW because we have been forgiven. IF we SIN however we are UNDER the LAW because we have SINNED and need God's forgiveness. Now it is time for Growing in Grace and Faith and the knowledge of Him who LOVES all so that we can LOVE others as he has first LOVED US. You do not know what SIN is without God's LAW because SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (James 2:11; Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4)

1Jo 2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

If you are living a life of known UNREPENTANT SIN you do not KNOW Him who loves all and need to seek him in repentance and forgiveness.

Hello MMD

Now if you do not know what the GOSPEL is how can you preach it to others? Man does not live by bread alone but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the MOUTH of GOD.

WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

The death, burial and resurrection of Christ is a very important part of the Gospel but is that all there is to the Gospel?

Lets look at God's Word...................................

The Gospel means; G2098 εὐαγγέλιον euaggelion (ev-an-ğe'-liy-on) n. a good message; Good news).

Ok I think most know that the word Gospel means good news or a good message. So if you only believe that the Gospel is the death burial and resurrection of Christ, how do you harmonize the following scriptures....?

After Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist............

Mark 1
15,
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL.

Wait a minuet? Jesus is ONLY JUST STARTING HIS MINISTRY and has NOT DIED, has not been buried and if he has not died and not been buried he certainly has not been resurrected. Yet here we have Jesus BEGINNING his MINISTRY and preaching the GOSPEL

and again..................

Mark 8
35,
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but WHOSOEVER SHALL LOSE HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE AND THE GOSPELS, THE SAME SHALL SAVE IT.

Well here we have it again the Gospel is being preached BEFORE the death of Jesus and again.....................

Matthew 4
23
, And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Seems like Matthew and Mark both agree that Jesus is preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom before the death of Jesus...

Matthew 9
35
, And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Yep Jesus still going about everywhere preaching the Gospel. His whole Ministry BEFORE His DEATH was preaching the GOSPEL..

Matthew 11
4, Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
5, The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and THE POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM.

and again..............

Matthew 24
14,
And this GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM SHALL BE PREACHED IN ALL THE WORLD for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Yep Jesus is still preaching the Gospel before His Death and Resurrection. Mathew and Mark both agree.....
Luke talks about Jesus in the Synagogue.....

Luke 4
17,
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because HE HAS ANNOTATED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Well it seems like Isaiah from the OLD TESTAMENT knew about the Gospel so the Gospel indeed was being preached BEFORE the DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS.......

Luke 7
22,
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor THE GOSPEL IS PREACHED.

Yep Matthew, Mark and Luke all agree the Gospel was being preached BEFORE the DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS.......

Luke 20
1,
And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and PREACHED THE GOSPEL, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

Yep there goes Jesus again teaching the people in the temple and preaching the GOSPEL before the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.....

So ok lets bring it all together............

The Good New (Gospel) is JESUS and Jesus is the WORD OF GOD. It is the WORD OF GOD THAT IS THE GOSPEL that we are to BELIEVE IN AND LIVE BY. (Matt 4:4; John 1-1-4; John 3:16). Why do you say it is a "works based doctrine" when we have to BELIEVE EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD? It is by GRACE that we are SAVED <HOW?> THROUGH FAITH and NOT of your selves it is a GIFT of GOD and NOT of WORKS LEST ANY MAN should boast.

Now if you do not know what the GOSPEL is how can you preach it to others? Man does not live by bread alone but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the MOUTH of GOD.

Now was God's LAW (10 commandments) the work of God and come OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD......................

Exodus 32
16,
And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

Ecclesiastes 3
14,
I know that, WHATSOEVER GOD DOES, IT SHALL BE FOREVER: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God does it, that men should fear before him.

Did God make the ten commandments then His Word says they are FOREVER.......................

Exodus 31
18,
And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, WRITTEN WITH THE FINGER OF GOD.

Did God speak the 10 commandments to His people personally? Well YES he did so they are FOREVER......................

Exodus 20
1, And GOD SPOKE ALL THESE WORDS, SAYING,
2, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.1
3, Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4, Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5, Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6, And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7, Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8, Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9, Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10, But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12, Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13, Thou shalt not kill.
14, Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15, Thou shalt not steal.
16, Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17, Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
18, And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19, And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

If God's Word is the ten commandments as shown above, The scriptures tell us that God's Word is FOREVER.........

Isaiah 40
8,
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but THE WORD OF OUR GOD SHALL STAND FOREVER.

1 Peter 1
25
,But THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Psalms 119
89
, YOUR WORK O LORD IS ETERNAL; it stands firm in the heavens.

Matthew 24
35,
Heaven and earth will pass away, but MY WORDS WILL NOT PASS AWAY.

The 10 commandments are God's Word therefore are FOREVER...............................

Does God change?

Numbers 23
19
God is not human, that he should lie, NOT A HUMAN BEING THAT HE SHOULD CHANGE HIS MIND. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Hebrews 13
8,
Jesus Christ is THE SAME yesterday and today and FOREVER

Malachi 3
6,
I THE LORD DO NOT CHANGE. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed

Summary; God does NOT CHANGE his WORD is the Ten Commandments so they are FOREVER. The 10 commandments are the WORK OF GOD so they are FOREVER.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we break any one of the ten we stand guilty before God of SIN (James 2:8-11) and need to repent and seek his forgiveness (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 2:1; 1 John 1:9). Those that continue a life in known unrepentant sin will not enter into God's Kingdom (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is NO SCRIPTURE that says that God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now COMMANDED to keep Sunday as a HOLY day..................

Your are so right. People leave off vers 18 in John 3:16.

John 3:16-18King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Vs. 18 Messiah Himself says the world is already condemned, it's only believing in Him are we freed from the curse of the Law.

The New Covenant was ratified and began on the day Christ died on the Cross....see Hebrews....it did not begin on the 50th day....geesh.....!
SDA's fail to rightly divide the word of truth and mix the Old and New Covenants. "Gospel" simply means "good news." Jesus was preaching the gospel of the kingdom to Israel. John the Baptist preached the gospel of the kingdom, which was, "..Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 3:2). This shows that before the cross, the gospel of grace that Paul taught and came to him through a revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:11-12) was still a mystery.

Ephesians 3:1 - For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— 2 if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, 7 of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power. 8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

That was not part of the gospel which the twelve, John the Baptist, and Jesus Christ were preaching. Yet, they were still preaching the gospel of the kingdom to Israel.

Jesus Christ sent the twelve to preach only to Israel. Matthew 10:5 - These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ The disciples were specifically told to go only to the people of Israel, and they were not preaching anything about the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

In Matthew 16:15, Jesus Christ asked His disciples, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Now Peter had no clue that Jesus Christ would be crucified and resurrected. He only believed that Jesus was the Messiah. This is obvious when, only moments later, Peter rebukes Jesus Christ for saying he will be killed, and be raised again the third day" (Matthew 16:21). In verse 22, "..Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”

Before his death, Jesus told the twelve that he had to die and that he would rise on the third day. Looking back upon this passage we see this as Jesus speaking of an event that would change the history of the world. However, it is unquestionable that the disciples were ignorant of its meaning.

“Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem,…And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. – Luke 18:31-34. hmm... that's strange if the gospel of grace that came through a revelation of Jesus Christ to Paul and was a mystery prior to that has the same content as the gospel of the kingdom. *This is where we need to RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH.

After his crucifixion, instead of anxiously waiting his resurrection, the apostles were still ignorant, disheartened at the death of their redeemer, and did not even at first believe the testimony of his resurrection (Mark 16:14, Luke 24:19-24).

It was not until after his resurrection that Jesus appeared to the apostles and opened their understanding (Luke 24:44-47).

In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, the gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. In this age, therefore, there is a distinctive element to the content of the gospel which is called "the mystery of the gospel" (see Ephesians 6:19 and compare with Colossians 1:26-27; 4:3). This new revelation is that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise (Ephesians 3:6). Such equality—Jew and Gentile united together in one body—was previously unknown. The distinctive message of the church is that Jew and Gentile alike may believe the gospel and be united together into ONE BODY (Ephesians 1:13; 1 Corinthians 12:13).

"He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenantnot of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills...the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone...the ministry that condemns" (2 Corinthians 3:6-9).

So the gospel that SDA's preach is that salvation is by grace through obeying the 10 commandments (with a heavy emphasis on obeying the 4th commandment to keep the sabbath day holy, which was part of a covenant with Israel, yet is not binding on the Church under the New Covenant - Colossians 2:16-17) and is a "different" gospel indeed! (Galatians 1:6-9). We are not fooled for one minute by these modern day, misguided teachers of the law/shady lawyer types who teach salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works. ;)

Hi MMD,

Have you changed your mind now about the meaning of the Gospel? According to your last post it is fair to say that you only accept the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus as being the Gospel...

While the Word of God teaches and is highlighted in post # 95 linked above, that the Good New (Gospel) is JESUS and Jesus is ALL the WORD OF GOD. It is the WORD OF GOD THAT IS THE GOSPEL that we are to BELIEVE IN AND LIVE BY EVERY WORD OF IT.

From what you say in your post above is that you like to choose only the part of the Word of God that suits you and you reject the rest of the scriptures. God's Word says Jesus is ALL the Word of God we are to live by ALL of God's Word which is the good news Gospel. This is the Gospel (the Word). You either BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word or you do not.

Unbelievers have NO part in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Who are God's Israel?

"Israel" is only a name given by God himself to represent his people. The origin of the name "Israel" come from Genesis 32:28 where Jacob wrestled with the Angel and prevailed ...for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. Its meaning is his posterity will rule as God. Jacob had 12 sons representing the 12 tribes of Israel.

Israel is only a name given by God that represents God's people and today anyone who is following Jesus is part of God's Israel according to God's Word.

What does God's Word say.....................................…

Let God be true and every man a liar that thou might be justified in thy sayings, and might overcome when thou art judged.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He says not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, AND TO YOUR SEED, WHICH IS CHRIST (Galatians 3:16)

Abraham’s seed is Israel............................................

THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: FOR YOU ALL ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS AND IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN YOU ARE ABRAHAM'S SEED FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS and IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN ARE YOU ABRAHAM'S SEED, AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE (Galatians 3:28).

No explanation needed, believe God's Word, and again..........................

FOR THEY ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL WHICH ARE OF ISRAEL,: NEITHER, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SEED OF ABRAHAM, ARE THEY ALL CHILDREN: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called <Christ> That is, THEY WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FLESH, THESE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: BUT THE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE <those who believe> ARE COUNTED FOR THE SEED (Romans 9:6).

FOR HE IS NOT A JEW WHICH IS ONE OUTWARDLY; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OUTWARDS IN THE FLESH: BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; and CIRCUMCISION IS OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT, AND NOT IN THE LETTER; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29)

Believe the scriptures...............................................

Galatians 3:28-29,
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Colossians 3:11,
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

R omans 10:11-13,
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 2:28-29,
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

The New Covenant is for God's Israel..........................

Jeremiah 31:33-4,
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Hebrews 8:10-12,
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 10:14-17,
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Galatians 3:29,

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise

The New Covenant is for God's Israel which represent God’s followers the believers. If you are not part of God's Israel you are not part of the New Covenant ( Hebrews 8:10-12 ).

God's Israel are those that believe the Word of God and follow it and is why Jesus says If you love me keep my commandments ( John 14:15 )

So there you go the seventh section of your post from the word of website comes tumbling down because it is not built on the rock but on sifting sand and GREAT is the fall of it…….

If you do not know the God's Word my friend how can you preach the Gospel if you do not know what it is?

This was a really good thread until the usual suspects from both sides of the not by works team house decided to derail the thread and make it about salvation and how it is obtained.

You guys have your team house, is it really to much to ask from both sides of that thread to stay in your team house and then blow each other up!?

Why must every other really good threads be interrupted by both sides of the not by works team house coming in and blowing up another thread to push their sacred cows.

There are at least 7 or 8 other Bible covenants and the only one that mattered was the agenda seekers on both sides of the not by works team house seeking to derail an otherwise awesome thread.

Hiz, loveme, loveGodforever, DCON and your squad, could you all keep your stuff in the not by works team house?

Please?

We are not fooled for one minute by these modern day, misguided teachers of the law/shady lawyer types who teach salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works. ;)
Being new to this forum i have yet to be acquainted with all the posters here.
Only recently have i discovered this place and attribute the Lords Hand to all my journeys.
Forgive me for interjecting a moment here.
First and foremost this is a place for fellowship and a conversation in Christ.
