Is the Bible under attack?

I've asked this question after reading an OP in another thread.

Of course, I say the bible is under attack and more so in the current day. Satan is on his last leg and he will use any instrument to destroy and manipulate God's Word and God's people into believing his lies. As well, while on another site, I saw posters who said they were Christians trying to dismantle that holy book.

The message from those pages is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Why? Because God does not change and neither will His Message to all mankind.

Or... the Word of God has been attacking the world, other religions, proud people, various elites, self-righteous sinners etc for more than 2000 years.

And even though the world, elites and other religions fight against it, they still could not to stop it. There are more Christians than ever, today.

Christianity is like a wave. First, Europe got the main hit, then the Americas, now its mainly in Asia. We may see a decline around us, but in the global context, Christianity has never been better.

I think it automatically creates a problem when a statement like that is made.

Many of us have the tendency to say that if someone says they see something different in a particular passage than WE see, then, of course, they are trying to dismantle the Bible. We want to believe that what people saw before us — and taught us to see — has to be what the Bible says, and is the only thing that could possibly be meant.

However, Catholics say the same thing about their beliefs. And, they have many, many more centuries of renowned Theologians who came before them, telling them what the words of the Bible REALLY mean, than we have. So, by the very logic we try to stand upon, THEY would be the ones with the correct interpretations and doctrine... not us, who follow Denominations that are far younger than Catholicism. Mere "upstarts" by comparison.

I think we need to use a bit more caution when stating that it has to be the "other" posters who hold different views than we do, that are, of course, the ones who are wrong.
 
It is more like the Word of God has always been distorted -beginning when Satan used it to tempt Eve.
 
God's Word first came under attack when the disciples and apostles preached it. It continued to be under attack from various heresies since the NT was written. It will continue to be under attack until Jesus returns; but it will continue to prevail over all attempts to destroy or pervert it.
 
Perhaps, is a good thing the Bible is under attack, eh? Perhaps, in this way, a body, might look inwards and upwards, and start to asking God, er Christ, er the Holy Spirit, instead of some man, or men, who's intent is to certainly deceive you. A good way, IMHO, in getting God, "OUT OF THE BOX", that so many try to restrict Him to, eh?

Actually one could go all the way back to Genesis chapter 3 and see how the Word of God came under attack immediately. Both the serpent and Eve knew what God had said to Adam, and both added, subtracted, and distorted what God had said.

Today, the Bible is under attack in a number of ways, and the attacks generally begin in the seminaries and Bible schools, and then filter down from there. Both the Higher and the Lower Critics {scholars) have been attacking the Bible since about the 18th century, and when we come right down to it, every modern version is also an attack on the true Word of God. At the same time Muslims are constantly attacking the Bible by alleging that it is corrupt.

The RCC can claim whatever it wants, but the truth is not on their side. They not only changed the canon of Scripture, but they also branded Protestants as heretics, and killed many of them for the sake of the Bible. John Wycliffe tried to put the RCC on the right track, and he paid with his life. So on could say that whatever the Catholic Church has done through the centuries has been detrimental to the Bible and to Bible Christianity.
 
Kind of thinking the whole concept of "the Bible is under attack," is about the same thing as "guns kill people." Inanimate objects don't do anything, so they are neither attacked nor do they attack.

On the other hand, if we're talking about God, then not happy suggesting the Bible is God. No, the Bible is the written word of God. He's much bigger (and stronger) than paper in binding, (or fancy computer coding on the Internet.)

Is God being attacked? He's God. It is more likely a feather will come at us and hurt us, than anyone can attack God. He's God!

Truth is most people hate him. The book comes secondary because it's about him. And the only ones who love him are the ones he chose.

So do people hate God? Of course! But it doesn't rightly matter since God is God and he will always get his will. Nothing, even hate, can thwart his will.

As for the Bible? Well, the full version has lasted 1800 years now, (some has been around much longer), so it also doesn't matter if people attack it. God always gets his will, and the promises he made are in there, so it's not going anywhere, even if people hate and/or attack it.

Feels like you're getting riled up over a feather.

Not actually, was more referring to Jesus' words, saying: "Let no man deceive you!"

But, the verses you posted surely seems to hold water as well. Although, I'm certain, Jesus was referring to "Pharasetic law", as it had become. More so, the "gamara", or oral interpretation/s of it. For, the "little" people, yanno?

You "could say" anything you want.... But, the truth remains that we are trying to use the same logic the Catholics use when we say that we have it right because some old guys told us so. And it doesn't work any better than when they try it.
 
IMHO, the failure of Christians to read and study the Bible is a much greater problem than the versions attack that is constantly levied on the Bible here, and in many churches.

Well the Word is always going to come under attack. The world does not want to hear what the Word has to say, because the light shineth into the dark, and the dark comprehended it not. Remember, even Christ was attacked by Satan in the wilderness. And we know Christ told His disciples that If the world hate you: remember that it first hated me. It's always going to come under attack from Satan and his demons. We as Christians need to make sure we are firmly entrenched in his word and to study to show ourselves approved

The latter is of utmost importance: the immutability of God. Some people claim to believe it, yet in reality they do not. His Word, immutable, like his person and character, has always been under attack. Even by professing believers.

I Would say God's Word has been under attack since the serpent uses parts of it to deceive Eve into disobeying God.
