A few weeks ago, I believed, but I was in constant doubt. Then one day, I just stopped. I continued believing in God, though the Bible says they are one. I believe in God cause he has done things in my life, and I take that evidence. But I have not seen proof that Jesus was real. I'm sure I wont go to hell for not worshiping a God I don't believe in. So it should be okay by then huh? Well these past days, I've lost my immortality, by which I mean, I don't feel immortal to man anymore. I always felt I would lead in the battle of Armageddon. I'm not so sure anymore.

To make it worst, I knew I had diabeties but I never paid attention to it. Now I'm worried that I could suffer. I asked God to show me to Jesus, cause he said Those Who Seek, Shall Find. I seek Jesus now. I asked God, but I haven't gotten an answer. Even though his answer comes in different ways.

The reason I don't put Jesus as my personal Lord is because
1. There is no solid evidence, he could have been the devil all trying to lead astray the people
2. I don't trust the Bible, because it has been altered so much. That's why we have so many religions.

I hope no one finds this offensive.

I want to Find Jesus. Help me.

Good for you for explaining why you don't believe & why you have doubt.

Now you must be aware of this Seeker.

Yes the bible has been changed text-wise because the original language of the bible was written in two languages: Hebrew (Old Testament) & Greek (New Testament)

But the first step is Not with figuring out if the bible is correct, It's with finding out if God is correct.

Now if it true that there is a God. Then you would have to come to the conclusion that he made all things, that he made us & that he made the earth & the universe & all the natural laws. If you can admit that then you may be able to understand that God has made all things and is in control of all things. He knows how this world is going to end, He knows how many hairs you have on your head, he knew exactly when you were going to read this response. There is nothing he doesn't know Seeker. His ways are above are ways & His thoughts above our thoughts.

Now he also knew that many would question the authenticity of the Holy Bible. & Here's the thing, it takes Faith to believe in God in the first place. You need to live your life by Faith & not by sight.

Abraham lived his life by faith, Although he had never seen the actual God he listened to the words of God He obeyed the instructions of God. & He was SOOOOOOOOO blessed. In the same way we are to do likewise as Believers. As it says in the Bible, "The righteous will live by FAITH"

Now if you need prooof about the authenticity of the bible, MOST of the original manuscripts (The 66 sectular books that make up the bible)
Are still in existence & THEY ARE NOT altared. Only reason it was translated so many times is so that people could understand it easier. It is still the same meaning it has always had for thousands of years.

The Authenticity of Jesus is provin because the Old Testament is allllll about Jesus. Every prophecy about him was Fulfilled down to the Tee Just like was written about him THOUSANDS of years before he was ever on Earth.

Nothing happened by chance. It was written down thousands of years ahead of time so that people could show proof & know he had come.
Another thing is Jesus never lied. His whole life was Truth. He said he was Truth. He was the word of God. It's hard to understand i know but read the Gospel of John its a GREAT place to start reading the bible. Infact read John 1:1

Yes Jesus said Anyone who seeks will find, But seek with all your Heart. Read the word of God, & you will figure out the bible is more than just fairy tales. It is ABSOLUTE TRUTH. Start with the Gospel of John I promise you will change your mind about it.

Try reading a New International Version (NIV) or a New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible, they are most easiest to understand for new believers.

God bless bro.

The way I have been reaised and the way I believe is that we find God through Jesus. Jesus broke the veil so that we could have communication and a relationship with God that would otherwise be impossible because of our imperfections and for our sins. (Also im not the best explainer). But I do believe you can't come to God except through Jesus.

And it is a faith in Jesus and God, there is no direct proof especially if you don't accept the bible as God's word....For me I do I believe it is God's word and I believe he uses it to teach us and to help guide us. For me I see God and Jesus doing things in my life. I would recommend studying the book of Mark I did a manuscript study on it,a nd the stuff I got out of it was truely amazing and was things about God's charcter and Love for us I had never realized.

(If that didnt make sense, I'm sorry as I said I'm not the best at describing it, it's a belief and a faith)

You guys are really helpful, really, thanks, but I am not fully convinced. By the way, I'm not new, I've been believing ever since God sent an angel to me when I was athiest. (He had red curly hair, and was named Gabriel....is curly red hair evil?)

Ok, so I've been looking into conspiracy theories, and into this illuminati. I know alot about it, and I believe they changed the Bible, but then again, illuminati only exist in northern America. Ooooo I answered my own question.

I did read John, and the old testament, but not the whole thing. That is intresting though, The Old Testament is all about Jesus.

Would it be okay if I was to put faith in Jesus that is only directly linked to God, and tells nothing but the Truth?
Cause I don't want to be a hypocrite to myself. I still think that it was the devil pretending.

1. There is no solid evidence, he could have been the devil all trying to lead astray the people

This looks like what is called a modal fallacy in logic.

You say Jesus could have been the devil... well so what? Jesus also could have been an alien cat from the distant planet Catropolis disguised as a 1st century Jew in order to gather more information about us humans and how we treat our cats.

Does this mean we have any good reasons to think that Jesus is actually an alien cat, General Meow, from Catropolis sent to spy on planet Earth?

Of course not. You have to distinguish between things that are logically possible and things that are plausible.

So you make two claims: (a) There is no solid evidence (for what??) and (b) Jesus could have been the devil.

Concerning (a), what is there not solid evidence for and what do you think would be solid evidence for whatever it is you think is lacking solid evidence?

Concerning (b), what reason do you have to believe Jesus was the devil?

2. I don't trust the Bible, because it has been altered so much. That's why we have so many religions.

First, which other religions do you think are based off of altered Bibles?

Second, where exactly has the Bible been altered?

I believe in God [...] But I have not seen proof that Jesus was real.

If you do not believe in Jesus then you do not believe in God either (at least not the one true God).

“...Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. ” (John 5:23)

"And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen, and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one whom he has sent" (John 5:37–38).

I'm sure I wont go to hell for not worshiping a God I don't believe in.

Why?

Because Christ is a devil trying to deceive us all into salvation?

The world teaches us that corrupt and wicked things are okay and normal. The Bible/God/Christ show us love, compassion, salvation, righteousness and so much more.

The Bible has been "altered" so everyone can easily read and understand it.

While you think there is no "proof" that God exists other religions even acknowledge Jesus to be real.

The reason to man-made religions is because many people see the Bible as nothing more than a rule book, they obviously don't know much about Christianity.

I don't understand why you think the Bible is a "book of lies leading us to our doom" so please write an in depth explanation.

Also those that don't follow and believe in God/Christ won't receive Heaven.

Exactly.. Tell us one place you THINK the Bible has been altered from the Original?

& Tell us one good reason you have to think that Jesus was manipulated or was by any means influenced by the Devil?

& For that matter if you had an actual angel named Gabrielle visit you, WHY WOULD YOU NOT BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE?????

Gabrielle is mentioned in the Bible. LOL

YOu have so much evidence at your disposal, #1 Being the Word of God, which he gave for all those to put their FAITH into him.

You must seek with all your heart. Trust in the LORD & lean NOT on YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING - Proverbs 3:5 (Wisest man in the world wrote those words) Think about it.

I read about the apocalypse in the New Testament. And then did research online (yes not a good source). It says how the false prophet will pretend to be Jesus, and he will heal and did what Jesus did. And he will force you to worship the false God, which is the devil himself, or was it the...nevermind.

That's the reason I can't trust Jesus yet.

You did point out a flaw in my ideas. Why would the devil want to lead us to salvation. Why didn't I think of that.

I think that the illuminati has changed the Bible enough for their own reasons.

The whole problem is, if I put my faith into a false prophet, I'll be hellbound. If Jesus was the Son of God, and I doubt, I'm hellbounded

Thanks you guys, you've helped me alot, now it's time for my journey, I must journey alone.

Question: Do you mean difference denominations of Christianity? Other religions don't go by the Bible

I assume that there are other religions out there that go off of the Bible. And i assume that since The bible is changed from different languages, different countried have semi different religions.

I guess I can be 70% wrong

Well I find another intersting thing here is that you say you read about false prophets pretending to be Jesus in the New Testemant. Others pretending to do what Jesus did are the false Prophets not Jesus himself who was the original one to do these things. Also wtih that if you believe in false prophets which is from the new testemant how do you not believe in the new testament.(Im just trying to fully undertstand your beliefs)

In my mind its not that there are different religions. Different denominations do come from how people interpret the Word differently. Some focus on certain things while others focus on others. Thats why the best way is to read it yourself so that you can understand, and form your opinions on what is meant by the test old and new for yourself. I know theres some denominations that I dont completely agree wtih by what they focus on buy they still all preach the message of God.

I also believe that even being translate into different languages doesnt make the religion different if they are preaching that Jesus died and rose again to save our sins, and tell the same gospels and such than its the same bible. it's still God's message (as longas the translation was good, if it was a bad translation than thats a whole different story.)

I’m not sure exactly what you are referring to when you say “the apocalypse in the NT.” Do you mean the book of Revelation or do you mean just references here and there in the NT that refer to the “end-times” stuff?

Revelation is a book written by the apostle John. The same person who wrote the gospel of John. In both of these “books” John tells us about the person of Jesus and both of the portraits presented of Jesus are congruent with each other and congruent with the portraits of Jesus we find in all the other NT books.

Now because the NT warns us about false Christs, you think this gives us sufficient reason to reject the real Christ as (plausibly?) Satan, an imposter?

This makes absolutely no sense.

Imagine if your mom is talking to you. She says “Son, sometime in the future I might be kidnapped by aliens and replaced by an evil cyborg.”

You then immediately tackle your mom to the ground and accuse her of being an evil cyborg.

Your mom says “What are you doing?!”

You say “You warned me that there would be an evil cyborg… So you’re an evil cyborg!”

She says “What are you talking about?! I AM THE ONE WHO WARNED YOU ABOUT THE FUTURE CYBORG!!”

So you think the same NT that tells us about Jesus and warns about false Christ’s is at the same time portraying the false Christ that it is warning us about?

Honestly… this is getting absurd. If you can't trust what the NT says about Jesus then what makes you think you can trust it about the false Christs and if you can trust what it says about false Christs why can't you trust what it's saying about the actual Christ?

That's the reason I can't trust Jesus yet.

You’re “reason” looks a bit ridiculous to me. If the New Testament is portraying the false Christ then why would it bother to warn us about false Christs?

I think that the illuminati has changed the Bible enough for their own reasons.

Sorry, that last part with the hand smacking the forehead probably wasn't too helpful... I'd remove it, but they don't let you edit a post after five minutes (actually their "five minutes" is more like 3).

So instead of the emoticon let me say that I don't think anyone will get very far by making assumptions. We can't just assume this and assume that and then make another assumption about how wrong or right our assumptions are...

Consider it for a moment. If you can just assume that there are other religions out there based off the Bible and if you can just assume the Bible has been changed countless times and if you can just assume that you might be 70% wrong (seriously, where did you get that number??) etc. then I can just assume there ar eno other religions out there based off the Bible and I can just assume the Bible hasn't been changed countless times and I can just assume that I'm 100% right.

It's a fruitless and irrational exercise.

Beyond that, I sort of agree with what Sporty said in relation to your comment here.

heres the thing, I read that believing in someone other than God can land you in hell.
I don't dishonor the son, so how am I dishonoring God?
Yes im refering to the book of revelations.
I know assuming isn't right, I go off what the bible says, what pastors are saying, and what I have learned off the internet.
Isn't Judaism the one true religion? It follows the Old Testament completely. Christianity focuses on the New Testament. But Jesus was Jewish, and since he came from God, Judaism should be the most correct religion, besides the fact that they don't believe Jesus to be the Son of God. This is an example of different religions off of the Bible.

This is enough, thanks guys, But now I have to journey myself for the answer. You guys have filled in the missing pieces, but now I have to put the pieces together, No one can convince me more than myself. But sometimes your mind can decieve you.

No one claimed, to my knowledge, that you dishonor the Son. However, you do not honor the Son and, therefore, you do not honor God (Matthew 5:23).

Don’t confuse present day “Judaism” with 1st century Judaism and don’t confuse (popular) 1st century “Judaism” with the Judaism in Abarham’s, Moses’s, or David’s time.

Jews who reject the New Testament are not accepting the true teachings (and thus religion) of the Old Testament, the religion of Abraham or Moses. Thus, Jesus said, “For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me” (John 5:46).

Therefore, if one truly follows the Old Testament they will follow the New Testament and be Christian.

This is an example of different religions off of the Bible.

You’re not keeping track of your own argument.

You originally said that there were many other religions based on altered Bibles. I asked which religions were based off of these altered Bibles.

Now you are coming up with a different claim… But this doesn’t support or have anything to do with your earlier claim about other religions being based off of altered Bibles. The difference between modern Judaism and Christianity is not alterations in the Bible, but simply that modern day Judaism refuses to take their own Old Testament seriously.

This is enough, thanks guys, But now I have to journey myself for the answer. You guys have filled in the missing pieces, but now I have to put the pieces together, No one can convince me more than myself. But sometimes your mind can decieve you.

The journey for truth should never be ventured alone.

You are very good at explaining what I feel in words.

ok so heres a philosophical question. a child was born into a satanic worshipping family, the baby only hears the evil, then he does not honor Jesus. Will he go to heaven? though remember, he does not know, he is innocent, and through his whole life, he will not repent.

The conditions of your hypothetical scenario are impossible in the actual world (depending on what you have in mind when you say "child").

The Bible teaches that all men have sufficient knowledge of God (Romans 1:18 and following). And that no one is innocent, all have sinned and all are "without excuse" (Romans 1:20).

So if this "child" (I have no idea what age range you have in mind) did not repent, he would go to hell because he would not be innocent and would not "not know."

Now, if you have in mind a child that, due to his age, lacks the sufficient cognitive abilities to recognize his sin and, subsequently, need of a savior then I suppose we might say the child is "innocent" and goes to heaven (I don't know, but it's possible).

However, if we ignore how things actually are and just follow your hypothetical scenario, then no, an innocent person will not go to hell. Persons only go to hell because they are not "innocent." But this isn't very interesting. The important question would be whether anyone is actually innocent.
