Yesterday, I tried to go into a battle with no Pokemon. Here is one of my results:

I swear I'm normal.
...And I just now tried to heal that same empty party:

Now, I think I know why this happens, but I don't wanna blow anyone's brains up...![]()
I wanna know
Well i have a similar family but some people think everything is an argument xD like just cuz we disagree doesn't mean we have to argue we can still talk about it and come to a peaceful resolution but you also have those people who make everything an argument and it just makes it hsrd to talk to them
That must make you the muffin man.
Okay, then...you see, I have no Pokemon, while healing them simultaniously. This confuses the game, because it's kind of like a paradox to own no Pokemon and heal them at the same time. This leads to an underflow in the hex value responsible for my party pokemon. Basically, the game just assumes that I have about 255 (hex: FF, the maximum possible value in these Gen 1 games) pokemon in my party, though almost all of them are probably garbage/glitch Pokemon. Yep...
The reason why the images get corrupted is that after placing six of my pokemon, the game doesn't know what sprite animation to use for the remaining 249 pokemon in my impossibly large party, so it instead gradually corrupts the entire screen as a substitute animation, sort of.
However, this little trick could also cause more serious damage to the game, as the corruption resulting from the sheer number of Pokemon being healed could also go beyond just the graphics, and corrupt more important parts of the game. The funny thing is, after Nurse Joy healed all of my 255 pokemon, surprisingly, the game told me that my...Safari Game...(?) is over. Suddenly, the game restarted and played through the opening scene with Nurse Joy's and my sprite still intact and visible. Afterwards, I pressed start and instead of the normal New Game menu, I was sent back to the Pokemon Centre and because of the excess corruption, I couldn't access my Start menu anymore.
Life is strange. :/
Oh, and sorry, Alayna...
That must make you the muffin man.
You Just described my mother....
But yes I agree.

Glad to hear it. Carry on gaming. You have pokemon to capture.Well, you're not wrong...my save file data has not been corrupted or destroyed yet...but I think that's only because of the magic of emulator save states.
You drive me crazy with talking about glitches and strange game stuff you know that!Okay, then...you see, I have no Pokemon, while healing them simultaniously.
