blue - There are many ways a statement can be taken.
Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life"
Now some may say he is insulting others who claim other things, how dare he insult them.
So it is possible to take almost any statement and say it insults someone though it can be 100% true.
So maybe what upsets you is something in your own life, which you cannot come to terms with.
Everything I state is what Jesus or the apostles have said and written.
And to be really honest, many have had terrible experiences which leave them hurt and upset, which
if a subject is talked about they get upset about it. It is not because anyone is saying anything wrong,
but emotionally there are still issues to resolve and come to terms with.
So unless you can actually specify what you mean, it is of little value. Christ is talking about love, hope,
life and freedom, overcoming sin and being free. Are you suggesting talking about this is insulting?
Is it insulting to call someone in adultery as adulterer, a thief and thief, a murderer as murderer,
a liar a liar, a greedy person a greedy person. Should we be quiet in the face of sin, and let it rot the
lives away of sinners?

I will re-iterate once again, for the gazillionth time on this thread, that works do not gain our salvation. Works do not KEEP us saved. Works do not gain us access into heaven.
What's that, you say? You gave money to a bunch of charities? You babysat the neighbor's kid? You mowed or shoveled someone's lawn? All very nice things to do,BUT those good works won't do jack diddly for keeping you saved or earning you a ticket to heaven..

Yes, this is wrong. Believing in Jesus does not produce carrying on living the sinful life.
"This is okay" in the sense that there is no damage? Nope. It is not okay. We all know sin has consequences.
The greatest consequence is death. God's righteous judgement must be satisfied. Which is why Jesus died. To be judged on our behalf.
"This is okay" in the sense that God's righteous judgement has already been satisfied by Jesus' death as payment. Absolutely yes.

Back to your first example. I suppose the question now is, if you carry on living the same, are you really saved?
There are many possibilities (we can only speculate because we can't read peoples minds and we don't know what they go through):
- Yes, you are saved but your faith is still small.
- Yes, you are saved but there are many things that you still don't understand.
- Yes, you are saved and Jesus has just started working through your relationships.
- No, you were never saved at all.
"No, you're not saved anymore?" If your salvation was thanks to your living a holy life, you wouldn't have needed Jesus saving you in the first place.
Here's a specification for you.. YOU manage to find a way to spin insults into nearly every post you make. Maybe you do intentionally, maybe not. Others do it also, but for you it is a constant thing.

He told Peter and Judas both, that they would betray Him, even though they swore they wouldn't.. You better believe that He got ticked off at people, He just dealt with it differently than we do in today's time. Jesus may have been THE lamb, but He was NOT a meek quiet lamb all the time..

A believer falling in love with another woman while married... Ahh good example. I personally know a couple who are going through this.
If by "leaving the faith" you mean the man getting 'unsaved', see my previous post.
If by "leaving the faith" you mean leaving the church, that is the natural response of someone who thinks his salvation hinges on his performance.
The question here is, is the man still saved? For reasons I have already mentioned above, yes.
Through Faith we are forgiven and reconciled with GOD.
Now am I correct in thinking that imputed righteousness is for some the belief that you have Christs Righteousness through Faith in that nothing you can do after believing changes your position because it is Christs Righteousness that saves you if you believe and accept Him as your sin offering with GOD? You try to be Christ like but are unable to be perfect and righteous?

Christians still sin after being saved. It's called being imperfectly human. One trip to the Family forum proves that.. We won't get made perfect, until we get to heaven.

Speaking of post salvation here, the above does not negate your personal responsibility to grow in Christ, not to stay saved mind you.

It's possible to grow in Christ, BUT it's also still possible to stumble and sin. We are sinful mortals in a fallen mortal world. Think about it: if we were IMMORTALS in a mortal world, would we fare any better? I don't think so because it's impossible for perfect people to live in an evil imperfect world tainted by sin.
Are you God? Are you all-knowing or psychic? How do you know those people have never called Jesus, Lord? The truth is, you don't. Even the mightiest Christian stumbles and falls from time to time. Jesus was the mightiest Christian of all, but even He was tempted to sin. Remember the devil telling Him to commit suicide? We are STILL sinful people, our Christianity aside. We ARE STILL tempted to sin, and oftentimes do.. Unless we are immortals in a immortal world, we will continue to sin until Jesus comes and perfects us. That's why Jesus walks on the path with us, to pick us up when we stumble. If we were sinless, we wouldn't need Jesus..
Very good point. The only thing we can do after we are saved, really is not of ourselves, and that is LOVE HIM back for ALL that HE has done for us. AND where does that kind of LOVE come from?

Hi AbigailZeke, nice to meet you, you've been here for awhile and seen many posts, what do you think is the cause of, merited righteousness. Jesus told His disciple's the greatest in God's kingdom will be like a servant, waiting on table's, and humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up. I agree with sovereignGrace post, "God fights our battle's we just need to get behind the shield of faith", (God's gift to believer's).
