Potters Clay and Miri, thank you so much. I always read comments like that sort of in shock like, I haven't been that patient! I have had horrible days XD But then there are those whose cancer treatment and caregiving needs have been LIGHTYEARS higher than me and dad's. So I'm so greatful.

God has made this entire situation so....not easy, but definitely not torturous or more than either of us can bear.

There are many types of difficult situations in life, we all go through them and I can say
that you've done gone. I sure God thinks the same. :)

Sweetie, as long as you see the hand of the Lord through all of this, my prayers have been answered. Walking the walk of faith you are so maturing with every step.....praise his Holy name.

My dad's tumor markers are going up slowly. And that at be a possible tell that the chemo he uses is starting to not work as well...

I believe it is a matter of prayer for guidance as to whether to use treatments or not. I felt the Lord in prayer one day counseling me to go through 37 days of radiation along with chemo - but He assured me that He would take the brunt and make it not as difficult for me.

So I did, and just found out that I am cancer-free after 3 months.

There are times you do not want to go treatments and chemo, and there are times when it is good. It is really important that you trust that inner guidance and make decisions with faith as the foundation, not fear. What I have read in a few postings is that "fear" is the foundation for possible decisions against it.

Ok saint the word is possible not factual so let's agree to ask the Lord to bring those markers down.


Father, you are so loving, so kind, and with but a word had all things come into existence. And they are all held together by you. Only you have this power for you are God. You are the Holy one.
Father we are but a simple people, we get tossed to and fro emotionally, we are tried by things seen and unseen but you my Lord see all things, know all things, can do all things, this is why we seek your hand in these matters.
Father we ask that you place your healing hand upon all who are in need of it, spiritual, and physically. That you strengthen the weaken in faith, restore the hope in the discouraged, and comfort those that are shaken.
Let us bask in your tender mercies o my Lord, let us rest in your word, cause us to sing praises to your name, for you are a good father, and your children are in need.
Father we thank you for all that you have done and all you are about to do.
Father I thank you for holding my sister joidevivre hand through her treatment, for you do not forsake nor leave. And by your command the treatment worked. May her days be long and her lips sing praises to you in joy.
Father as always what you have done for me I could never repay. And I thank you as often as I remember. You have put a everlasting joy within my heart . And for this I praise your name .
Father cause your children to bring praise to your ears and glory to your name.

Well sadly the situation that I've been describing in the unspoken prayer request has affected dad. It has to do with dads company possibly, and so dad has been in turmoil about it. And I can't help him. All we can do is pray.

As someone who had serious hissy fits, fell apart at the seams more than once, and was always 50/50 on which way the Lord would take that trial, I still got patience.

Truthfully patience is the ability to keep on keeping on when everything points to cower in a corner until you turn to dust. Cowering in a corner was an option, and one used on occasion, but always got up again. This time without God even needing to yank me up. (Pulling was involved, but yanking wasn't... this last time.)

So, yeah. It might not look pretty, but you have it when it counts, even if you never wanted it.

Road<----->Bridge<------> Road.

You are on a road. (This is for you and your dad, although mentioning Blain probably won't have the same effect on your dad. lol) There is a bridge ahead. More than one possible bridge, and you do not know the name of the one you will be crossing. The Bridges' names are "could be going up again," "could be problems with the company," "could be smooth sailing." Knowing God, they probably have names you don't even know yet.

No matter what, you are not there. You are not at that bridge that needs to be crossed. You are on the road before that. This section of the road is named "Dad has stomach cancer." Isn't that enough to worry about right there? And hasn't it had some wonderful views along the way? (One view is called "Blain." Another one is "FART!" Oh come on, you laughed when you made it, so you enjoyed it. lol) Same road. Same God taking you along it.

Truthfully, you never knew exactly where you were traveling. All you know is God is with you, your family is with you, Blain is with you, and you meet other good people along the way until you get where God is taking you -- home. You already have home and it is good. (In case you're not catching on to this, since I know your dad has been planning to move, your family is home not your house.) And you know God's home is bigger, better, and no pain or sorrow, so it's a good direction.

You are on the road. There will be bridges. There will be joy and sorrow. These are guarantees, and things you cannot change no how hard you worry.

So, save the worries about the bridges for when you hit the bridges. Sometimes the bridges aren't as bad as you think. Sometimes they're downright good. We're never told the names of the bridge until we get there.

The road is tough enough already, and so worth the trip because beautiful things happen on that road, (coughBlaincough coughfamilycough.) Try to hold off worrying about things you cannot change and enjoy the road you're on while you're on it.

Not saying it's possible to not worry. Just suggesting hold off as much as possible, because I tend to feel really stupid when I find out the bridge I worried about so much could have been used on a train set. (Tiny bridge. lol)

BTW, just to remind you, prayer is the best thing we can do even if we had 20,000 choices available.

My dad has a PET-CT scan tomorrow where they see how small the tumor has gotten. I don't know what we want to happen, other than what will heal my daddy.

I'd like them to tell him what they see on the spot, so he doesn't have to go through all that waiting when they already know, but that won't happen.

(From their viewpoint, I get why they don't want that part of the job though.)

Basically they said that dad's tumor is getting a little bigger, and his lymph nodes are lighting up again. They're gonna put him on a new chemo.

Good news nothing has metastasized which is good. But otherwise we're kinda scared.

We're going to Mayo to get a second opinion, which is down the street. We are all pretty frazzled.
