Jesus is the good Shepherd of His sheep, and they know His voice and follow Him whither He goes...
And He loves them so much that when one goes astray, He goes and finds it, places it upon His shoulders, and brings it back to the sheep pen...
He loved His sheep so much He even died in their stead, took upon Himself their sins, stood before His Father as a condemned sinner, so that we could go free...
In this death, burial and resurrection of the Christ, nothing is to be added to it, for if anything is added, it is nothing more than works, which I get accused of mocking ppl because they hold to a works gospel.
All that the Christ did, He did for His sheep. He lived a perfect life in their stead, took their sins upon Himself and became sin, died on their behalf, and raised from the tomb for their justification. All of this is imputed to them and they stand before the Father, and the Father sees them in the same way He sees His Son.
So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.[John 8:36] And also
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners;[Isaiah 61:1]
