I have officially flipped my lid. Or I'm a genius. I'm not sure which, but either way I'm certainly not normal anymore, if I ever was.
I have been using a 5-gallon washtub to mix up sourdough bread, but it is too small for the batches I wanted to do. So I went out and got a ten gallon bucket, and to stir up the dough I got an honest-to-goodness boat paddle. And it worked very well! I even bypassed the first kneading by leaving the dough in the bucket and using the paddle as a plunger to knead it in situ.
Maybe it's time to open that bakery everybody keeps saying I should open. But... then it would be a JOB, not fun!

Thank goodness you told us about that boat paddle.
Now we'll all know what to grab (and use) when you get out of line.
That paddle was a sound investment.
It's going to get A LOT of use.
And when have I ever gotten out of line? Name one time, just ONE!
The easier thing to do here would be to name all the times you HAVEN'T got out of line.

And I'm thinking, you're just going to have to get paddles: one, to make sure my standing baked goods subscription program always arrives on time, and a second, to make sure you just stay in the kitchen baking and looking pretty (and don't cause any trouble in the mean time.)

Checking if something has happened on CC while I slept. Yup. Not by Works is still alive. Lynx is baking, Seoulsearch???? She is getting naughty! What does she have in mind with that paddle???? I think she has to stand in the naughty corner and get the place of honor on the naughty list. And it seems like ranting over meatloaf is getting less. Good. Seems like CC is getting back to being a peaceful place again. Good morning to you all. I think this day is going to be a good one.

Winerose. Mostly I get strange pictures in my head. Or songs. Now I got a strange sound there too.
This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Of course, I live on the gulf coast of Florida in the Tampa - St. Petersburg area and the hurricane strikes tomorrow. Maybe I'll rejoice when the electricity is restore and the facets in the sink work and the toilets flush. It's the little things that count.

"Peaceful" simply will not do.
I'm going to have to find other things to rant about... and additional people to paddle. (It's not as fun when people actually volunteer, therefore I will have to just randomly choose unsuspecting victims.)
Actually, when Lynx mentioned that paddle, the first thing that came to mind was a wooden paddle one of my grade school teachers had hanging on the wall as a deterrent to any of us young-un's entertaining the thought of behaving badly.
