I mean, there's this real big problem with meatloaf, you really can't BBQ it. I mean, what's that stuff for if you can't BBQ it? Somebody's telling you that she been BBQ-ing meatloaf I'd think she's born on crazy creek and been living there ever since, bless her heart, poor darlin. I hate autocorrect. Lol.

Depends on who made it. Some meatloaf is cheap stuff that was made for the sole purpose of stretching ground beef. "Stretching" meaning feeding more people with less actual meat, so they add other stuff to bulk it up, like oatmeal, crushed crackers, crumbled up bread... That is not good meatloaf. It is authentic meatloaf though, because that's the purpose meatloaf originally had, to make meat go further in feeding the family. But it's not very good.

So technically seoulsearch is right. Authentic meatloaf is cheap junk that almost deserves to be in the same category as spam.

But then there's good meatloaf... ah, I would love to have a slice of good meatloaf right now. That would make a wonderful breakfast. :D

The last time I had meat loaf was in 1989. Can't say I miss it.

Just imagine a thick slice of juicy, crumbly seasoned ground beef mixed with slivers of onions that melts in your mouth with each bite, topped off with a robust tomatoey sauce that makes your tastebuds dance with each mouth-watering morsel...

Oh dear. I am getting hungry again. Lynx. You have a special way of making my stomach roar. Today it will be bacon burger. Tomorrow I have to start eating fish again. Do you think if I go to the seashore with my roaring stomach... Would you hear it on the East Coast?

I have to admit that between this and Lighthearted's sensory-tingling description, I'm starting to think that I've never actually had a "good" meatloaf.

And now I'm halfway tempted to dip my toe into the dark side, just to try it. :(

PIPPY, NNNOOOOOO!!!! HELP!!! They're turning me!!! QUICK, GET THE ANTIDOTE!!! (Like, a couple dozen cupcakes.)

I feel like an innocent victim who's been bitten by a group of zombies and am... slowly... turning over.

My recipe for meatloaf is exactly the same as my recipe for meatballs. Exactly. That's the secret of why my meatloaf is edible. Who doesn't like meatballs?

Also..I'm surprised I made the naughty list....I'm a very very good girl.
AT LAST!!!

And just like the Nimble Ninja that she is, The Voice of Reason, a Measure of Sanity, and My Other Half has finally arrived to this thread.

Sorry, Lovers of Loaves.

Pippy's Maple Bacon Cupcakes kick the tendons right out of your Formed Lumps of Loaf any day. :p
This is why you made the naughty list. Why, WHY, would you waste a perfectly good bacon and a perfectly good cupcake (that I can no longer eat with gluten)?

I see I am at the top of the list. That means my meatloaf wins, right?
That looks like a whole lot of loaf and very little meat. But I might be willing to attempt the meatloaf for seoul challenge.
The main question is:

"What kind of meat...?"

And, the next question is:

"What else is added to it, and how is it prepared?"

toinena - are you tellin'...?

:)
