You're missing the point! Jesus said, "I will build my church," which as I pointed out is in the future tense. You don't say "I will build" if something already exists. If it was as you suggested, the Lord would have said, "I will continue to build my church" or "I will add on to my church." But if you say, "I will build" then it hasn't been built yet.
I would think you are adding to the point. He did not say I will begin to build the bride of Christ, the church And all the Old testament saints died in vain, as faithless Their hearts not purified by the faith of Christ, our Husband. .
I will continue to build the kind church made up of many lively stones that makes up the spiritual house of God called the bride of wife of Christ our husband.
Using tribes as gates to enter into a temple (fellowship of Christ in God) not made with human hands to represent all the old Testament saints as His bride and foundation walls of a fortress of God to keep us safe within to represent the saints on this side of the cross, as the same one and only bride.
Christ who is no respecter of persons (the clay He forms Christ in) puts no difference between a gentile and an outward unconverted Jew(same difference) according to the flesh . Purifying the hearts of both by a work of Faith. The kind of faith that comes from hearing God through the scriptures, the living abiding word of God.
Purifying by grace (favor) the heart of Abel, by a work of His faith just as he did to Ruth a Moabite a gentile.
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Act 15:8
If any man has not the Spirit of Christ they simply do not belong to our bloody husband Christ.
Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 1Pe 1:10 (the first resurrection)
It as that description which come down from heaven prepared as His bride the church that the gates of hell will not be able to resist the gospel(key) of Christ .. Same key spoken of in Revelation 20:1)
Abel was not the bride of Christ, nor were any of the OT saints. The church began when Christ appeared and began to build it, which is still in the process of being built this very day.
Revelation 21 speaks of one gospel one bride made up of Old Testament saints as well as new.
The "last day" that you continue to emphasize, is not referring to a specific date on Tuesday or any of the other days of the week, but are collective words referring to the entire time period leading up to the Lord's return. In the same way "the day of the Lord" nor the "hour of trial" is neither a day nor an hour in length, but refers to that entire time of God's wrath.
Last day = entire end time period
Last day = entire end time period
Job spoke of that day (24 hour time period). Six times in the book of John God emphasizes day, not days ..
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Job 19:25
John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
If it was last days (many) there would be no reason for Lazarus to rise again.. they were in the last days or last time.
