Stephen was a good guy when you got to know him

I am quite sorry to see him gone

hugs Stephen
Yes him and I had issues but we resolved behind the scenes.
Sad to see him gone as well.

Part of me thinks here is that we don't take time to get to know each other, if we truly did then I am sure it would be less stressful.

Believing is not a work of the law.
It's important that you get the argument straight.

Paul never said the 'work' of believing was a work that could not justify. In fact, he said it is the only thing that can, but now we have the church insisting that believing is a work of self righteousness. The 'work' of believing is CONTRASTED with works of the law, not equated with them as so many are doing in this thread.
Abraham, Moses and Jesus

faith, obedience, works are so misunderstood

I posted what I thought was a pretty decent explanation but it was too long for any but die hard fans to read (2 apparently)

I will beat the drum again

Abraham's faith was accounted for righteousness...his obedience PROVED his faith and God supplied the sacrifice

actually, I think I can stop there

actually Cee stated some ways back, that faith will produce works which is what I was aiming at

and someone just recently posted that works begin with simple acts of kindness or charity if you will (my words, they expressed it differently) and I agree and then we have the spiritual gifts that God gives to whom HE decides

we do not create apostles, teachers, prophets, not even gifts of helps

no school can produce that with anything other than false and if there is real, it will leave and go somewhere else

umbrella again I suspect

think I will change my avie

watch for it (jking...you don't have to watch)

Sometimes they show up again with "new names". You can usually tell who they are if they exhibit the same type of behavior.

Not that I wish to go this route myself but what constitutes a ban?

They cannot access their mail from what I have heard, but they may as any other guest, view the boards. Once a person has been banned, they cannot receive any more PMs either. To post you have to have an active, valid account, unless you bypass the regulations put in place, to post on somebody else's account.

This made me chuckle. Some feel behaviour is not a measure of ones revelation or fellowship
with the Lord. Oddly these same people object very strongly to the behaviour of some members
and what they express, which seems to be at odds, because if God is not concerned about this
why should they be?

John summed behaviour and judgement up very well,

Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.
Rev 22:11

So let us live at peace, and not get riled but rather bless and encourage all to do good,

It seems this anger or getting riled leads many to fall and become a poor example.

God bless you all.

From what I have seen, it is usually either ugly personal attacks that just won't stop despite others pleading to the person to go get a grip on their grudge and their tongue. OR extremely heretical teaching that 99% of us see as heretical too, like...Jesus is not God, etc.

People coming back without permission after being banned will often be banned again, too. Some people return again and again against the rules, usually making exerted attempts to hide who they are, by changing their age and gender, among other things.

but they can see posts as a guest until they make a new account

guests are those who have had their accounts closed at their own request

they can rejoin any time

banned members aren't guests and I guess they can talk it over with mods...I don't know

this is prob redundant

just came in from outside and the humidity got to me

The kingdoms of this world have now become the kingdom of our Lord after the cross and resurrection. Rev. 11:15
say what? this must be a new translation because all the others I checked said this:

[h=1]Revelation 11:15[/h]15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

the earth is the Lord's...in fact it is His footstool

but nuh uh and just plain no...satan is still the god of this world and that verse is future tense, not post Crucifixion and resurrection

where are the 2 witnesses? surely you do not believe they are past tense also?

really not sure how this got interpreted as it did because it makes no sense at all and especially not chronologically

Truth is like an onion - it has many facets to it...:)
Everyone is in the kingdom of our Lord but not everyone "has the kingdom in them".

Which is why when all people see Him - they will call Him Lord - because He is Lord.

uh.....

It is a concern to me that so many women post such intimate details about themselves that they presumably believe are not being read by men, for any unscrupulous character could sign up as a woman and then read the posts that honest men are not able to see :(

Such is the internet. Best to exercise discretion.

I look at "works" this way

Saved = fruit
Not saved = thorns

Ephesians 6:11-18

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints

Ephesians 6

Prayer is the oil to keep the armor from becoming rusty

we can use the shield to protect others

armor is actually spoken of in many ways in the Bible
Good stuff sister...

Did you also know that Roman Soldiers rubbed Oil on their shields to keep them from cracking and breaking......they would also soak them in water for hours before taking a fortified objective....so that when flaming darts hit them , they would be extinguished on impact.....So to does the Holy Spirit keep our faith from breaking and our faith strong agaisnt the fiery darts of the enemy...

Believing is not a work of the law.
Which makes zero difference. It's either a work, or not a work, and in your theology it is a work, no matter how you spin it.

It's important that you get the argument straight.
It's important you get the gospel straight. As of now, yours is unfortunately false.

Furthermore, I got the argument straight which is why you, as you do with Scripture, only quote the portion you misunderstand and wrest.
