Why would anyone want to be under the authority of a local church? Are you talking about the Pope? I personally would rather be under the authority of God but that's just me. To each his own I guess.

In the bible it says that where 2 or 3 are gathered in His name Jesus would be in the midst of them. For some, this is very much a church and rightly so. It's also a ministry for some also.

I don't believe that you're the local authority of this church on CC either.
I thought where 2 or 3 are gathered had to do with Church Discipline

Matthew 18:19-20 (Dealing with a sinning brother)

19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Are you referring to a different passage of scripture?

This is why He did not say: you will know them by their doctrine.
He said: you will know them by their fruits.
If a man isn't walking consistently in love and forgiveness in the Spirit, he has a lot to learn. Even if what he says is right, he is not speaking something the Spirit taught him but is speaking something a man taught him.

Some men can disagree and still love. The point is the love - not the necessity to agree on everything.
Man. You've been in a seriously great groove sister! Thank you for your uplifting posts.

I refer you back to the definitions. Biblical definitions.
For the record, I never got on anyone for spamming. In fact I consciously chose NOT to use that word since it was Scripture being repeatedly posted in a flood :)

When they can stop playing the games...peace will return....
No. When you love and forgive and they love and forgive, peace will be won.
Our peace was not won by our Lord saying that when He was treated better, He would bring us peace. Our peace was won by a love greater than we can comprehend.

You challenged me. I did not personally challenge you. But, have already proved one. You have yet to accept.

Plus, every post back from all of us back to your grouping...I really hate to divide the body...but...we are continually posting against your negative views of the scriptures.

You might as well preach brimstone and fire. Which I'm not denying is, but not for the body of Christ.
Yep, that's what I thought.....

Hello Rosemary :) I have met such people, who say they believed, that they served in ministry for decades, and did much to assure themselves that they were born again believers, but then turn around and say they were deceived, that they never had an encounter with the Living Lord, it was all ______, and they are now staunch atheists, hardened in their hearts and hostile to God, actively seeking to destroy the faith of those who now believe. Can you say for sure those people were saved to begin with? Their absolute hatred toward believers and the Truth of God's Word stands in such stark contrast to their assertion that they once believed. That looks like a belief of the flesh and not of the Spirit, but is it not true that only God knows their heart in this matter? If someone knows the love of God personally, how could they ever walk away from it? God save us! If God knows us personally, we have entered into a personal relationship with Him through faith in the shed blood of Christ. His promise is that He will never forsake us, He will allow nothing to snatch us out of His hands, for nothing can separate us from the love of God. We do need to guard our hearts, though. For every mile of road there is two miles of ditch, as the saying goes...
Hi Magenta...Thank you for explaining this to me:) now i need to go further...Just for talking sake a man/women has walked with the Lord for many years, has trusted, leaned and relied on Jesus and have lived in the faith, but this person let their old addiction back in, started drinking etc and falling short of Gods glory, what happens if this person lets the drink get hold of them and they can`t stop, will they still go to heaven, even though God clearly says Drunkards will not, how does this work out:confused:, would it mean they have given up their first Love meaning Jesus and putting their addiction before our Lord...I know no one can snatch us out of Gods hand, but what if that person let go off the Hand of God, am not trying to cause doubt in anyones mind, i am truly looking to seek...xox...

Is it or is it not so? We continually are catching your pitches and throwing them back. To use your baseball terms. You didn't respond to the definitions. That was the first challenge. I answered.

One of your "definitions" was unbelief, which, if I remember correctly, wasn't even used in G777's definition.

The other had multiple definitions, and you didn't show how each of them was used in the Bible.

Matthew 18:20

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

For a sinning brother you need 2 or 3 witnesses to corroborate the facts. This is in reference to Matthew 18:16. In this particular passage Jesus didn't say that He would be in the midst of them, only that the truth of the matter regarding the trespass of the brother in question. In my opinion these are two passages are speaking about two entirely different things.

There is more to the obedience of faith than it first seems. Because He takes us from faith to faith, showing us where we are not fully trusting. And no sooner do we get through one struggle and come out strong and firm, when after a little rest and peace, He brings us to the next. He is faithful to grow our faith. :) He can be trusted.
Hi Sbg...Love this post because it is simply the truth:)...xox...

Yes, I am sorry Stones, but I normally only see his posts when he is quoted. I should have gone back to the original post where he misrepresented what I did, and responded to his assertion directly, or just made my observation without quoting anyone. Spam (as far as I know) is an acronym for stupid pointless annoying message. It is also often connected with advertising, and attributed to a bot. I did not want any of those associations, particularly to Scripture, but also to the person. I merely pointed out to them that what they had done was considered poor forum etiquette, known as flooding :)

Then will spell it out for you. Unbelief-disobedience to the gospel truth. Brings the wrath of God on one. Obey- is to believe the gospel, and those definitions didn't change. They all said the same.

You can't take a dictionary built on worldly terms and expect to get biblical truth.

We do do acts of obedience. But, as the OT says over and over...and the Word of the Lord came to us...and we do.

Go to Maple Street and knock on the door...there will be three women inside. Speak only to the one in the red dress.

Just an example of obedience in the Spirit..

Or, a scripture will come to mind as you are speaking. Lots of ways Holy Spirit works...but in unity with Him. Not by reading laws and self effort.

I can only say this, from all that I have seen of heretic hunting on the internet, is that every person becomes a heretic to someone else.

But, I feel like Satan is having a great laugh, having been played by all of his cunning devices

Somewhere in this mess the call to love has been lost.
you do know you sound exactly like grace7?

exactly

like

him

that's too much

follow the word of God. EXPOSE false teaching and not everyone is a heretic

not at all

and defending those who are, by saying everyone is a heretic to someone, is nonsense and proves absolutely nothing

no love is not lost. love is working hard to expose error. that is what the devil actually hates

it is so lame to say that those who expose the heretical teaching have no love. that is a statement that has deception at its heart
