I'm beginning to find the Cycle of Friendship very confusing:

I have a friend who generously offered to research and help me with something that would be way too confusing and overwhelming to do on my own. This friend has sacrificed a lot of time (and nerve cells, I'm pretty sure) in order to help me.

And so, I then tried to give that friend a gift in return for all their time, to which, this friend reacted... by threatening me. ("Don't you ever do that again!!!") I seem to get that a lot (and this time, it was from someone other than my parents!)

And now this "friend" is apparently sending me large quantities of a substance in return... that has the potential to quite possibly kill me.

Man. Friendships are confusing.

I'm thinking that now I finally understand what a "Frenemy" is. :p
 
Oh, dear friend. Yes. I do think of you as a dear friend, sister. I pray that you will not lose the trust you have in friends and friendships. What happened between you seems strange. And the reaction seemed out of proportions. But I guess it has its reasons. Wether it is pride, previous hurt, insecurity. It is hard to tell. But just pray for this person. God know what is in his troubled heart. We both know not to put our faith in man but to lean on the cross. And yet I, as you know, get smacked on my fingers over and over again.

I came to the same realization at a restaurant last week. The waitress asked if we wanted dessert, and my response was, "The supper was excellent, and the desserts sound very tasty. However, if I ate dessert, I would regret it."

I'm not clear on the concept of dessert after breakfast. Wouldn't that be "second breakfast" (in an Irish/Hobbit accent), or would it just be brunch?

I was raised hearing "if you have room for desert, you didn't eat enough supper". No surprise, I rarely ever got desert as a child, and that's probably a big part of the reason I don't like sweets now...no experience with them.

It's not your fault toinena. Even if you had been a master of the language it would not have helped here, for there is not much to indicate seoulsearch was joking. You pretty much have to know seoulsearch and her penchant for complaining. :rolleyes:

There's also a feline somewhere around this forum who has a penchant for picking on people... so you shouldn't take this post very seriously either. :cool:

Chapter 2 of the story is that the said friend, whom I had to literally to crawl through an obstacle course for in order to send them a gift to try to repay them for their time (after all, the Bible says the worker is worth their wages...)

Turned around and used the entire gift, and then some, to get something for me instead. :rolleyes: ARGH.

On top of that, I am now feasting on mass quantities of The Substance That Could Potentially Kill Me like a helpless addict.

Needless to say, I am so overwhelmed, that I will most likely wind up slapping said person, even from thousands of miles away.

And that, my friends, is how This Story Ends.

Have you ever had a time in your life when EVERYTHING feels like stress, whether good or bad, and even really good things, as wonderful as they are, just get heaped onto the pile, and it all feels overwhelming?

Yeah, I'm in that place right now.

Trying to sort out the good from the bad... but still feeling all-around stressed...

But trying to remember to be thankful.
 
Yay! A slappy ending! That's better than happy OR sappy! :D

And toinena you are right. I should not have called it a soap opera. My grandmother used to watch those and they never do have any conclusions, no neat tying off of loose ends to a happy ending. They just have more drama and more drama and more drama.

I have a strange picture of a drama concerning a smart phone. Wish it would be an Ubuntu one. And I really hope it wasn't an Apple. Well. I guess the only cliff hanger is in my head now. Huawei or Samsung. A drama without conclusion.
 
Eh, Ubuntu phones never did really take off. Linux phones in general never did really take off.

And Samsung is mass produced drivel for the masses. Samsung is for people who just want a phone, any old phone, and don't want to think about what they actually WANT in a phone, much less take the time to look for the right phone to fit what they want. Samsung is also for people who want to be popular based on what kind of phone they have.

Samsung is the Dodge Charger of smartphones - it's okay, there are better, there are worse out there, but they have generated so much hype that they got the masses thinking they are special.

And yeah, I really hope it wasn't Apple too. I'd hate to think of any friend of mine having to deal with an iJunk.

I feel you. They should always accept a gift. Be grateful. Don't turn it around. It'll feel like my gift ain't good enough. Slapping said person sounds like a plan.

I like iPhone best because it's easier to use whenever you're left handed.
