If you mean that to be a berean, I must buy the mans books, I don't have any money with which to buy them, so you will have to settle for me listening to some free teaching videos and hearing whether what he says agrees with what the Spirit has taught me in scripture.

You could, however, look up his books & read parts of them on Amazon.com for free.

Find out who he reccomends, & who he does conferences with. A mature man of God won't work with heathens.

If you need any suggestions, just ask.:)

You have said many ugly things, not out of love for your brothers and sisters. You are being very contentious and it is not helping anyone to grow in trust and run their race of trust better. But that's because your purpose and motive is not love but is to contend with those who do not agree with you.

You are cranking up your flesh and getting closer and closer to having no control over your tongue at all. I pray that you will not start another fire and that God will help us to control our flesh and to keep loving you until you see what harm you are in danger of causing among us.
Those are mighty ugly words coming from someone I'm only trying to help.

That's like biting the hand that feeds you.

BTW, pulling accusations outta thin air only shows who you are, not me.

because if you truly thought he would not allow you to stop growing and trust You would never think you could fall away. You would continue to trust what God promised to do. which I agree, is to never allow you to fall away.

does that make sense?
If He continues to grow my trust, that is the opposite of not continuing to trust, so how is that you think that I think I am in danger?

I said that He has said if we do not continue and grow in trust (abide), we will be cut off. That is what HE has said. And that is why He will not allow me to not grow in trust. He has only ever GROWN my trust and I have seen Him repeatedly keep His promise. Why would I fear that He won't continue to keep His promises to me?

I believe that too. When "sin" rises up from our flesh which manifests in thoughts and desires - we can simply say - "That's not me - I am the righteousness of God in Christ - I am a new creation - I have the love of God in me and that is not the real me that is in Christ."
This is truth.

I have a question though. I know someone who has been badly hurt by this. A friend who believes this way did something terrible to hurt this one who was hurt. The response to the hurt one was "I don't know why I did it, because this isn't really me".

Now the hurt person cannot let it go and has rejected the truth of security. And bitter.

How does one minister to this?

Okay, I have to go paint some furniture. It pains me to leave you guys! I wasn't even going to come in this morning for fear I would stay all day with you again. :D

Continue to love one another and bear with one another. Love covers a multitude of sins.

You have a funny way of showing it.

You are being very ugly brother. What do you think you will accomplish good by trying to stir up the flesh of us?
This is an accusation without cause. Nothing of the such was said. Pulled out of thin air.

You have said many ugly things, not out of love for your brothers and sisters. You are being very contentious and it is not helping anyone to grow in trust and run their race of trust better. But that's because your purpose and motive is not love but is to contend with those who do not agree with you.
Another baseless accusation.

You are cranking up your flesh and getting closer and closer to having no control over your tongue at all. I pray that you will not start another fire and that God will help us to control our flesh and to keep loving you until you see what harm you are in danger of causing among us.
If this were true, I would have been banned before FranC was.

Every time I read such against me, it's made up with no posts to use as evidence.

That's called BEARING FALSE WITNESS.

This is what some others were complaining about, when FranC was banned.

FranC was bann innappropriately..... not because she didn't deserve it, because she did.

The inappropriate part was overlooking posts like yours here bearing false witness of others..... possibly 40-60% of this thread, & doing nothing about it.

My so-called 500+ posts won't reflect false-fabrication like this..... go look & see.;)

Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit,.... Every preacher and teacher that does not bring the Gospel of Christ with him, and plainly and faithfully preach it to the people, sooner or later,is hewn down: however he may have appeared as a tall lofty cedar, and have carried it with a high hand against Christ and his Gospel, spoke "great swelling words of vanity", and behaved with much "loftiness" and "haughtiness"; yet the time comes on, when all this is bowed and made low, "and the Lord alone is exalted": such preachers are either cut off from the churches of Christ, or hewn down by death, and cast into the fire; into the fire of hell; into the lake of fire and brimstone, "where the beast and false prophet shall be".

Meyer's NT Commentary
Matthew 7:19. Simply a thought introduced by the way (not as being necessary for the logical connection of Matthew 7:16-20), and pointing to the condemnation to Gehenna which awaits the false prophets. Comp. with Matthew 3:10.

Pulpit Commentary
Verse 19. - Matthew only (cf. Matthew 3:10, vide infra). Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. A parenthesis expressing the terrible fate of those the general product (ver. 16, note) of whose life is not good. Christ will warn his followers plainly against listening to them. Observe that the form of the sentence (πᾶν δένδρον μὴ ποιοῦν καρπόν, κ.τ.λ.) implies that all trees will be cut down unless there is a reason for the contrary; that the normal event is that men are condemned and perish. In Matthew 3:10 this general statement is applied (οϋν) to a definite time of impending judgment.

And not one of those commentators nor commentary's believe in loss of salvation nor is it even implied!

Wow!

Talk about reading comprehension problems. When one is blinded by false assumptions and their false works gospel they see things that simply are not there.

That you would even QUOTE Gill to support your error shows you don't know him whatsoever. he is showing the fact that these were false converts, not true, as the rest.

Unbelievable that people cannot even see what they're supplying as proof doesn't even remotely support their position.

thanks,

the way i see it is through Gods creation (rom 1) through a persons heart (the law inside us) through people like you and me, through many different ways, God draws a person

it starts with conviction, all he has to do is get a person to admit he or she is not righteous,

then he has to to get them to see that because they are guilty. They are condemned

then he has to get him to understand since he is condemned, he is hopeless, bankrupt, left wanting, because nothing he can do to rectify his situation and save himself

then he has to get him to see the cross, and what it means, what God did, and what it means

Once he sees this, all has to do is convince the person that God is offering him eternal life, do you trust him and will you recieve it, or will you not,

People will respond in different ways, but only those who like Thats collector come to God in humility and faith are born again,

Hi EG,

You know, I have listened to many steps to salvation from various teachers and from friends. A dear member of my family once stated that when leading someone to the Lord, they must understand the whole process and began speaking of justification, sanctification, etc.

While all that is going in the person's life through the new birth, I don't believe that they have to understand all of those things when the Spirit of God comes upon them and by faith they repent of their sins.

When I was first saved, all I knew is that I was a sinner and in need of God. I knew I had to repent of my sins out loud and ask the Lord to come into my life. That's it. That's all I knew. I didn't envision a cross, I didn't envision that I was condemned to hell. My understanding was plain, cut and dry. I knew practically nothing at all.

I was like that tax collector asking God to forgive me, a sinner. I didn't even consider my eternal destiny. I didn't know anything of what I was getting into.

I only knew I was a sinner and was convicted that I needed forgiveness from God. That's it. It was later on that I begin to learn all that transpired in the spiritual realm. It all happened secretly, without my knowledge, but God opened me up like a bud beginning to bloom.

I learned later what all was taking place. All I can say is that it was the most beautiful thing that's ever happened in my life and I couldn't quit crying for months and months when I considered all that Jesus did for me.

Oh the power of His name that washed a sinner like me.

I think we need to listen to the Spirit on the inside of us as all cases are different and he knows exactly what is needed and also the "timing" of things too. Even if truth is told - some people are just not ready to receive it yet for various reasons.

The Lord knows the timing of things too - it's not good enough to just know the answer. Unless the Lord build the house - we labor in vain that build it.

Bitterness does defile people as Hebrews 12:15 shows.

Knowing how forgiven we are in Christ releases His forgiveness that is in our new creation to manifest. It's a work of grace that only God can give. Without Him we can do nothing.

I agree, the old man is laid to rest, God does not see us as sinners, I mean He's not blind to our sin, but he sees it as forgiven. We are Saints that sin.
I do believe however that we are at odds with our flesh, as we still carry it with us. I'm not sure if our old man and our flesh are the same?
To fully appreciate 2 Peter 1.12 and other truths about the new man Vs. the old man, you have to also understand the truth man is a 3 part being. This truth is refuted by many and will likely be refuted and debated when I say it here...that does not negate that the Bible proves that every person is a 3 part being, just as God in his image is a 3 part being...This debate is usually because many do not understand the true difference, between, spirit, soul , heart, body, a flesh of a man..

Man is first and foremost a spirit, that has mind, will, emotions, passions[Soul] and lives in a Body suit[Flesh]

The new man/old man is your Spirit...at conversion your spirit is made perfect as it was originally intended to be. This is because along with the free gift of salvation we are also given the free gift of positional righteousness...this means the old man cursed by Adam is now completely reborn as the new man in the second Adam...The old man is not your flesh. The new man spirit is now born again and reconciled back to God through the work of Jesus Christ....

The problem is that our soul[mind, will, emotions, passions] have not been renewed like you spirit....so we must renew our minds to God's word.....the flesh/body will follow whoever is in charge of it....the spirit or the mind....

If the man is born again but has no renewed mind and that mind looks at a woman and lusts after her, the flesh/body will carry it out in the form of adultery or fornication....if the man is born again and has a renewed mind and that mind looks at a woman and the spirit takes the lustful thoughts into captivity and to the obedience in Christ, the body is killed/crucified to lust, fornication and adultery because the mind has been renewed and is following the spirit, not the flesh/body

As we spiritually mature as 2 Peter 1.12 tells us we will not stumble....stumble means SIN.....

This is a very hard truth for people to get, because of poor teaching that we constantly fight 2 natures and have 2 natures.....if you have 2 old dogs fighting in you...you need to GET SAVED....the Bible does not teach we have 2 natures....we have one and that is the divine nature we are born again with in our spirit at conversion...but we must renew the mind, which will help crucify the flesh and its passions...

I am not attmpeting to cause division or single anyone particular person out with my next statement, but it has to be said...

The reason why people are taught they have 2 natures is because of false and very poor teaching of the Romans 1-8...especially with Romans 7....Many miss something about most of Romans, it was written to the Jews and Chapter 7 is all about being freed from the law...Romans 2 says gentiles were not under any law...so how people can teach that gentiles have 2 natures fighting in them in Chapter 7, when it was written to Jews under the law is beyond me....Romans 7 is foundational for gentiles to show us we have a better covenant....and that we do not wrestle as the Jews did with the old man man of sin on them...which was the law...The key verse of Romans 7 is Vs 6.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.

Others will claim Paul called himself a chief sinner in the present tense, and that justifies them to call themselves sinners saved by grace...but that is also wrong....

The old man and the flesh are not the same...the old man[condemned spirit] was buried with Christ and then raised into newness of life[new spirit] just as Romans 6 tells us it was...

Walk on in your Lord with the knowledge you have. All is well...:).

He loves you and has provided all things for all of us to grow up in Him. We can trust Him as we are in His hands and He said - none do I lose.

Whenever we try in our own strength to do things - we will fail but our faith that is in our hearts - in the new creation in Christ can never fail because we are one spirit with the Lord forever - just like Jesus said.

In knowing this "security" we have in Christ we can grow in true "maturity".
Amen, I was raised on the security of the believer; if you want to worry; did I perform enough works to merit His glorious salvation, be my guest.

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may knowthat you have eternal life."1Jn5:13

“To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that :fadeth not away:, reserved in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1:4

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
I have overcome the world." John16:33

Keep trusting in God's forgiveness and you have nothing to worry about.

You're the only one who knows if and when you are in danger of not believing anymore. But the point is, don't stop believing. That is how you stay secure in Christ's eternal life.

Some believers have a bigger struggle with continuing to believe than others. It's a personal struggle that has to be worked out between them and the Lord. Some of us haven't been to that place, so we need to be sensitive to those who are at that place, especially since some trial or tribulation in life may bring us to our own place of struggling with continuing to trust.

What I see too many people do is write off the possibility that they could ever stop believing simply because they've never been tested that way.
I disagree with your last statement. We all are tested in situations. And all are striking at our faith. Faith increases by seeing the Lord move in the situation. Many times the enemy tried to take me out. I've been close to death several times.

Prophets have even spoken this to me...but the Lord is the One who takes care of His own and nothing stops the believer from fulfilling the reason why we all are born. Even what looks like premature death.

What I mean is that what might look like premature death is not.

To me given that the person who did the hurting knew they did something wrong then that person needs to accept that they did wrong and go and reconcile. Apologise for doing wrong.

Whilst we do and act contrary to our new nature it is not an excuse to say "That isn't really me"

Me get proof? I'm, still waiting on yours, something you will never find.

The comments you've supplied actually go against your teaching, they're hardly proof, nor do you know Gill.

He's Reformed, served as Pastor prior to, um, Spurgeon, and being Reformed believes and supports OSAS/Perseverance of the Saints. Just like, you know, his predecessor, Spurgeon too preached this glorious truth. :D

I find it rather humorous that you've used this, teaching that is against you, for "proof!" LOL!!!!!

You remind me of this:

The fact you don't know this, nor can you actually understand that what he had written is against your teaching is absolutely remarkable!!!

Get some comprehension my man, you've failed here.

Meggido was saying we still have choice. While that is true, would not the fact that when we first chose to believe and was sealed in spirit, that God is declaring His having made His choice of us?

Can our choices override Gods? I would think not. It's done.

Did Satan's choice override God Choice for Satan?

I am going to go real deep here, because people need it...now the infantile spiritually immature mind will scream that this is not a true coma prison, because Satan was an angel....and God had no love for angels.....I do not think for a second that dog will hunt.....why God loves all things he has created....

So you tell me...Did God 's love for Satan keep Satan from having iniquity found in his heart and ultimately keep him from making the choice to exalt himself over God? When this was discovered what did God do?

Satan fell....and became the god of this world....

God's love is constant, but we have choice to receive it and keep receiving it...if we choose to harden our hearts and become a god unto our self, like Satan, then God will do what?

This is apostasy and only believers fall into apostasy...
