Hi SBG...Remember , the feeling of condemnation comes from the evil one...When ever we are convicted of sin, confess and move on with our Lord, the devil wants to remind us of our guilt and shame, it`s the memory we live in that keeps us stuck because of the evil ones whispering, that is when we have the authority of Jesus to tell the evil one to " Get behind me satan " then he will flee leaving you to enjoy the presence of the Lord...:)...xox...
I have done that I think, a few times. It's like...the chatter became too great and I just said, oh, shut up, God says such and such... but I never knew who I was telling to shut up. I just felt like maybe I was telling my own mind to shut up. :D And it could be a combination because our enemies are the world, the flesh and the devil. And now suddenly I understand something else Cee said...ah, it's too much!!

Has anyone ever wondered why the lost sheep left the safety of the fold?

I don't trust anyone who attacks the church and isolated people.

It is true no church is perfect but every one I have attended have people who are truly seeking God...yes we have conflict and issues that need to be resolved but overall it takes only two to have the Holy spirit present.

It saddens me to see such low church attendance....how can you fellowship if people don't make the effort to even show up?

Learning to walk together is part of becoming mature in Christ.

I could say more but will just give it to God in prayer.
John 10 is your answer to this....

depends on what you believe the commands are we are to obey....
Love God.
Love others
Love yourself....

If you do not love yourself along with all your failings...how can you love others with all their failings
You can love yourself by having faith that God loves you as you are, enough that he will not leave you with all your failings but help you overcome and become the person He created you to be without those failings,

Amen and Amen!!

As I said Meggido, I know what you are saying. I just don't see that one can just become something that they haven't heard and that is with an ear that has been "circumcised". We can hear things without it registering as to what exactly is being said.

There are things that my husband was involved with way before I saw the truth of it. So that is why I posted "if God permits". It's His work to circumcise ones hearing. We cannot grow faster than His Holy Spirits revelation.

Also, I disagree that positional righteousness is meat. That is foundational and needs to be taught for there is security.

John 10
12He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

****

Are they wolves or hired shepherds?

Leaven in NT & OT always speaks of sin. Not a particular sin, but sin in general.
But the apostle was speaking of a particular thing and a particular leaven. You quoted for us that he said to get rid of the leaven, but what did the leaven cause to happen in the prior verses?

He said, who has obstructed you? Why are you trying to finish in your own attempts what was begun in the Spirit? Get rid of this leaven before it spreads to the whole batch! They were being persuaded away from trusting God to get them there and back to trying to make themselves holy by working to be holy.

I liked that video. I felt only one odd pull back toward the law. It was at the point where he said after he sinned and felt that condemnation, that God says don't worry about that. It was a very strong pull. I've changed my mind about losing my trust being a possibility. He has only ever increased my trust, so where would that fear come from?

When he spoke of the woman caught in adultery, it all snapped into sharper focus for me. The woman had committed an awful sin. and the order went like this:
1. Where are your accusers?
2. They are gone.
3. Neither do I condemn you.
4. Go and sin no more.

I can't even begin to tell you what I saw. I'm too astounded to even try right now. Maybe when I get over my shock of falling for it for so long I'll be able to. It makes me angry that I struggled in it for so long. I'm feeling real anger. I'm not sure who to be angry at though. I appear to have done it to myself.
If you really study out the women caught in Adultery you might come to a valid conclusion the woman was not the only one who sinned....and that the SIN of Adultery was manufactured.....the woman was a pawn in a very sadistic game of deception between the Pharisees and their attempt to trap Jesus....Jesus schooled them....

The real sinners in this story are the pharisees and their religion, and it is religion who comes to steal, kill and destroy....

There is a couple people who I would agree with you about never witmessing then talk about progressive sanctification. However, I have talked to EG and Dcon enough to know they believe in the need for growth and maturity in Christ of believers. The other two...I withhold judgment because half the time I can't understand what they are saying or mean by their words.

Most people will agree that God works through us to help us grow and mature in Him. How that happens seems to be more vague in some people's minds, but there is faith that it happens.
Most everyone believes in growing, but those that no longer believe in conviction & repentance will not/can not biblically explain HOW.

Any sin is leaven, and will bring the same result.

I agree that those who can not explain how the Holy spirit chastens God's children when they sin and corrects them, when they do wrong, can not truly explain biblically how God teaches us to grow and mature in Him.

When scripture speaks of those "in the faith", it's those that are truly saved.

God has given us a wonderful, amazing covenant! Yes, God does promise to keep those committed to Him.

We can be eternally saved!

But like any covenant, we have the choice to step out of it.

I don't doubt God's promises, but one thing we see all through scripture is that God doesn't force His people to do anything.

God gave Adam & Eve the choice to obey Him, or face the consequences. Since then, God has always gave man the choice to stay or leave.

May God walk you thru the word to see that.

Thank you for your kindness in your posting..... It is refreshing.
:)
People divorce God and Jesus every day.....and guess what....they are not going to go chase after you or took away your choice to divorce them....and have you on a ball and chain....

Sometimes God does chase after us.

I find it interesting that you think of marriage between spouses and I always thought of God as my Heavenly father.

As a baby He chased after me a lot and held my hand. Now that I am older I learn to walk with Him and do as He asks me to do for others.

Can you disown your father? Perhaps, but why would you want to?

Sometimes God sends us after our siblings who were stolen and beaten and sold into slavery. They have a hard time trusting our Father because of how they have been treated by others, but God still loves them and tells us to show them His love.

If it were not meat, so many on this thread would not "Choke" on it and call those of us who know it is truth, false teachers for promoting sinless-perfection....and that we do not sin, even though we clearly never say that...if it were not meat, people would not "choke" on it when you tell them they are sin forgiven saints who will still sin, but they are no longer a woe/poe sinner saved by grace...if it were not meat, they would not "choke" on revelation knowledge that sinner and saint are past/present conditions and not who they and that righteousness is position.....If it were not meat, this thread would not even exist....

Stop giving people a cop out for not coming into full age...all your are doing is parting the lips to fit the bottle of milk...people do not come into spiritual maturity from failure to hear....1 Corinthians 2 says so...People do not come into spiritual maturity because they refuse to....because to do so, you have to die completely.....and people do not like the thought of dying....or giving up things to be ALL IN.....

We were talking about false teaching. You said about false teaching, remove the leaven.
And the verse was in galatians that you gave. And it tells us that the leaven/false teaching had obstructed them so that they were trying to finish what began in the Spirit by their own working/by the flesh. They were trying to perfect themselves.

I make Jesus MY LORD when I submit myself to His authority.:)
Exactly and that is the true question....

Have you died to self, are you cruxified with Him or are you double minded and seeking the world and it's pleasures?

Have you sold all your hopes and dreams and taken hold of the one pearl....salvation through faith in Jesus?

Or have you wandered away chasing the false treasures of this world?

Hi Stephan...As i am walking with our Lord, i have learned from my early days that when i have sinned, the Lord convicts me of my sin, then i repent and move on...This is how i am growing, being convicted of my past sins reminds me more to walk away from them, the gaps of me committing some major sins in my past are getting wider and wider, some now i only have to look at when temptation comes my way and i am like " No thank you " because i remember how the Lord convicted me previously, so this to me is growing...Surely people don`t believe that we don`t need to be convicted, how else would we feel quilt and shame and not want to repent to get right with the Lord peace again  ...xox...

We confess Him as Lord, I do not make Him my Lord, I do not make His Lordship come into effect He always was and always will be Lord.

I submit to His authority because He is Lord
