Some of Paul's writing is hard to understand in relation to the rest of the Word of God in the bible. I believe that in some passages Paul is offering his opinion on a certain matter, that in most instances would probably be wise to follow but not necessarily a sin if you don't.

My wife and I have daily bible study, reading, devotion and prayer. We are reading the bible from Genesis through Revelation. We both have already read the bible in it's entirety a few times but never from start to finish. Currently we have just finished reading the 100th Psalm. Looking forward to Psalm 119. It's gonna be huge.

Yes, it does seem to be a lot doesn't it? It is a full coffee urn full plus a refill in a box, prepaid, I suppose people give extra to drink coffee, I know I do at the meetings where I drink coffee, but still... we did not always do this, it is new, so there are other things I am adjusting to as well.

You are fortunate to have a willing Bible study partner :) My one Bible study is on a bit of a hiatus for summer (we still meet, just not as often) though my other one is still going strong :)

I confess that I am an INTJ female Aspie (a person who has Asperger's Syndrome). I wonder how rare that makes me. :/
 
I confess that this site is my place of refuge.. I keep everything bottled up coz I have a very hard time trusting. I guess it's because deeply wounded hurting but afraid if I admit it or let people in they'll not understand and just hurt me more.so I cry in private bottle in and smile in public. Meanwhile inside I'm dying .. but here I feel safe to admit how truly vulnerable weak and need love I really am

I hear the rumble of thunder - I hope we get some rain tonight as we need the rain for the plants and trees. Plus I love to hear the rain on the roof such a soothing sound...Nice to go to sleep to and that's my confession for the night...

I confess that one of the most uncomfortable moments of my life happened
while listening to someone play a Creedence Clearwater Revival song for me :(
 
I've been applying the old axiom "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" in my real life, and this morning I realized I haven't said a word aloud in almost a week. I should probably extend that axiom to ALL my interactions with people, but that would mean having my account here deleted.

I wish I knew why I was so angry all the time.

Maybe you're unhappy at this stage of your life. I feel l like that at times. Got to let the negativity go.

I am glad that this site is a place of refuge for you. It does sound like you have had your fill of hard times and hurt feelings. I have prayed for God to lift the cloud of depression that is hovering over you and to let His light shine upon you.

...I enjoy thunder and lightning too because it's like watching the fireworks of God in the sky.

Some say that anger is a secondary emotion. I know what they mean, because anger is often a response to having a boundary violated. Some people do such things deliberately, and others unwittingly. But the underlying feeling is one of being hurt in some way... undervalued, unappreciated, disrespected, unloved, or outright abused. Anger helps let us know where we may be in need of setting boundaries.

Sirk would often say that anger is simply unprocessed pain. He must have been in a lot of pain because he seemed angry quite often. I might do some research on this so-called unprocessed pain to see if there is anything to it related to anger. What you have said makes a lot of sense also. One thing for sure is that unless the cause of anger is address in a positive way it will most likely cause much harm. Of course, prayer is necessary in these instances.

One of the things I really loved about Sirk was how clear he was on these matters concerning being hurt, anger, and boundaries. He surely did experience a lot of emotional trauma in his life, but seemed to have come to terms with a lot of it, and understood the source and ramifications of such. He gleaned much wisdom from exploring his issues. I always respected him for that :)
