Positional righteousness is a real thing, but it is not taught much and to be honest many really might see it, but few really understand it...In order to understand positional righteousness one must understand they are a 3 part being...a spirit with a mind, will and emotions[soul] that has a body[flesh]
At conversion the gift of righteousness makes your spirit perfect before God, your spirit is reconciled back to Father, through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and him alone...your mind, will, emotions and flesh are never going to be perfect, but you have to renew them through renewal of the mind tot he Word of God...certain aspects of renewal, conforming and transforming arr not passive works of Christ alone...you have a part to play...not to stay saved or work for your salvation, but to grow spiritually mature and come into perfection[maturity]
Mos times people that cannot wrap their head around this Bible truth will call it sinless-perfection and attempt to state people are saying they do not sin...this is not at all what this truth states[there are a few people that take this way, but not me]
What righteousness consciousnesses truth does for me, is remove guilt, inferiority, condemnation and I am able to boldly enter the throne room of Mercy and seek and get the grace and mercy I need to help me...[Heb 4.14-16]
A very a large part of the people on this thread and in life, go through their walk without ever really coming into revelation knowledge of Jesus,Father and the Holy Spirit see them and latch onto passive works alone doctrines and see no real victory, because they do not become fully who God says they are...they also have a tendency to become careful not to get in God's way...but the Bible truth says we play a part in growing up spiritually...we are partners with God in order to grow in him....
Examples are below:
most of the time people teach this:
2 Cor 5.17
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
And they never go past that verse to 5.21 which says this:
2 Cor 5.21
[SUP]21 [/SUP]He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
People teach this:
Rom 5.8-9
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
But never go to see this:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
People teach this:
Phil 3.12-14
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. [SUP]13 [/SUP]Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, [SUP]14 [/SUP]I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
But never catch this:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. [SUP]8 [/SUP]More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, [SUP]9 [/SUP]and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, [SUP]10 [/SUP]that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; [SUP]11 [/SUP]in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
sin-consciousness is an infection in the body....it is not a salvation issue, but it prohibits many from every really coming into full knowledge of who they are in Christ Jesus...
