I have shared Scripture with people on numerous occasions and at times I point certain folks to websites that QUOTE SCRIPTURE to help them understand. There is nothing wrong with that. Iron sharpens iron.
Or it could make false teachers from false teachings

Who are the Saints?

Rev 14:12,
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
The keeping of the commandments is not what makes one a saint....the word is indicative of who we are in Christ as Holy while the word Elect is indicative of who we are in Christ as chosen.....nice stretch mate to make the word equate to something that it does not imply......!

This Passage of scripture describes the qualities of a Christian; it never say's;
'add to your faith works.'

"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; [SUP]7 [/SUP]and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. [SUP]8 [/SUP]For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 5-8

I suggest a study on the word itself and how it is applied...the Pharisees kept the law to a t and Paul said outwardly you could not convict him and he was not identifed as a saint.....the keeping of the commandments does not a saint make....being saved and in Jesus is what makes one a SAINT...NICE TRY...your law keeping will not make you a saint

You can repeat that 100000000000 times and 1 and it will not change the fact that the word saint is applied unto the saved in Christ and has zero bearing on the law keepers....end of story.....! Show me one verse where Moses or Elijah who KEPT THE LAW were called saints....I will wait.....

New International Version 1984 1 Samuel 2:3 “Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the Lord is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed.

Psalm 31:23 Love the Lord, all his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full.

Proverbs 16:5 The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

Romans 8:7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.

No actually I quoted the words of Jesus and made a very valid point....your problem is your working your way there...good luck Phart

The people in Matthew 7:21-23 will have works, but not the works that signify them as having been born again. If they did, Christ would not be turning them away as people he never knew:

"21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’" (Matthew 7:21-23 NASB)

Please make sure that none of us are guilty of trying to earn our way into the kingdom by doing works and explain to us why this is a works gospel:

19“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20“So then, you will know them by their fruits.

21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter."

26“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

(Matthew 7:19-21,26 NASB)

This is to all of you that have been saying that the necessity of works in salvation is the vain attempt to save oneself. Explain how the above is a works gospel.

I'm still waiting for a verse from YOU that quotes Jesus saying that "works" are not necessary.

Also,,, .
You said that following the 10 commandments is not what makes one a saint.
Is there someone here who does NOT believe in Jesus?
No.
So, once again you encourage Christians to NOT follow God's moral law...
The commandments.

YOU, my dear young man, will have much to answer for.
God demands more from those who claim to teach His ways.

Hi TT

I realize that I may be using the wrong word when speaking about "works".
I may have to take a sensitivity class... (Just so I could speak)

But my question to you is this...:

What would You call all those things that are to be ADDED to our faith in the verses you quoted?

Some here say that Nothing is to be added!!
So I guess God contradicts Himself. (According to Mr Dcon)

WHO is the Pharisee here?
Telling everyone exactly what they're supposed to believe
And keeping them far from God with wrong doctrine ,,, for which you'll have to answer one day.

Awaiting your snarky remarks instead of the verses you Still Haven't Found...
And never will because They Don't Exist.

Your girls tried, but no luck...

I'm afraid for all these people in this thread who are teaching Christians to take false comfort in a faith without works relationship with God. We've warned them, so they will have no excuse on the Day of Judgment when Christ holds them accountable for teaching his people it's okay to have a faith that does nothing.

Amen dear brother.

Jesus laboured to teach all His people exactly how they are to live and what to do.....
And some on this thread do their best to teach that we are to do nothing.

Both by inference And clearly stated.
Seems they have no respect for God.
