Also, if coffee were a man, I'd marry him.

LOL

( She changed it! )
Why yes, yes she did. She has no problem admitting she is in incorrect when the facts are laid out for her.

Yeah, Kim -- she is kinda 'pushy' - isnt' she...? :D

;)
Bossy is the adjective I prefer. It makes me think of cows. I love cows. I think they're beautiful. Especially the Jersey ones.
To quote Beyonce... "I ain't bossy. I'm The Boss."

LOL!!!

Man. I can't hide anything from y'all. :) In kindergarten I got in trouble for apparently trying to boss some other kid around. :D

But I've also been pushed around and bullied a lot in my life--as we all have--and eventually, it got to a point where it's like, "No more."

And so, I do my best to live out my life according to what God has for me and not pay too much attention to haters. It hurts sometimes, of course. But you have to just push past the pain and keep going.

By the way... if I DID fall in love with someone???

Heaven and hell couldn't keep me from trying.

I can be hopelessly romantic and stubborn that way. :)

And now I'm trying to think of a way to keep this ball rolling while being fair to those under 18... (Does anyone have any ideas?)
Well, Zi and Toeina (SP?) still need matches as well as Socreta, Addison(Wait, did he already get one?), Desdichado, and Dino246

But here comes the "other" complication...

There are some people (including on this list) that I didn't mention because I believe they have a significant other.

So... how to work around that... ? I'm not sure?

I'm just thinking of boundaries and respect.

Even if it's all in joking... if we all had a significant other who was on a forum like this... are we comfortable with them being "matched" with someone, even as a joke?

I do know I overthink it but I tried very hard not to mach anyone whom I knew had a significant other...

Kids should not be included, period. Sorry, but kids and adults don't mesh socially. It is the way it should be. There is nothing wrong with that. They are excluded from this thread. Don't worry about hurting their feelings. They'll get over being excluded from the matchmaking thread.
"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Galatea again."

Dang politically-correct reputation-regulating controls...

Over the years, I've run into people:

1. Who are unhappy with me because I tend to drop several threads here, and,

2. People who are unhappy with me I'm apparently not churning out threads fast enough, or using their ideas.

I have to gently but firmly remind people that I'm not a trained monkey here for entertainment value, believe it or not. :p Many times I write only because something's really on my mind, or because it seems like so few others are willing to step up and do it.

I naturally gravitate towards people who are willing to not only put in the work, but take on the risk as well.

Some people are blessed to be able to be on CC almost all the time--unfortunately, I'm not one of them. :( Work and my regular life are always a first priority, so I won't be able to contribute to some things as much as I'd like.

My suggestion would be to have a series of 2 or 3 threads in which people can really get to know a little bit about each other, to have things to be able to remember others by and make it actually possible to make matches, even if just for fun. Or maybe some kind of thread in which people basically say, "Hey, here I am, here's a little about me... and I'd love to be included." But a person has to give us something to work with first--we can't match you if we don't know much about you.

And then... It's on to a Re-Match. :D

However, I don't have nearly the time it would take to do all this... So... if others have suggestions... and want to get it rolling with some Get-To-Know-You threads... Please. By all means, take it away.

What other thoughts and suggestions do people have?
I've been super busy myself with the new school year approaching. Last night was the first night I've been on in a long time. I was not suggesting you create all the threads, but just meant don't worry about the underage contingent. To be completely honest, they really shouldn't be on a site socializing with adults. They should socialize with other kids. What I meant was, don't feel bad about telling kids to "keep out". :)

After being stranded in Cleveland, I am certainly not having a significant other. So I am still waiting for the mathc... I am clearly not good in making any match by my self.

Anyone not married is free game. Dating relationships end all the time. I matched Desdichado with Rachel20 already. They both are into guns, extremely intelligent, and into politics. Perfect match, in my opinion.

I understand if you don't want to let me be a part of this...it's fine, honestly. Just to let you know. I'll just leave this thread, if you want me to.

See you around, then! :)

Weeeeell -- yes and no.

I agree with what I believe you were trying to get across in the top quoted statement - with regard to the thread topic. However, just like in-the-home-family and in-the-church-family, there is a certain legitimate - healthy even - "mixing" of adults and children - in the proper context, of course - having healthy 'family' relationships. As such, an equivalent 'place' on CC ( i.e. - Family Forum ) should be okay.

In as much as you meant that - in real life - it is better for kids to be spending time with other kids instead of being on the internet -- yes, I can agree with that, also. It would be better for them - in the right context, of course.

However, things-being-what-they-are ( especially if a child-age member is somehow isolated and has no one their age to spend time with ) ----- suffice it to say, that is what the Family Forum is for...

The idea - whether child-age members should be allowed into the Singles Forum - has been highly debated before -- within the past few years. Anyone should be able to find the threads. It was decided by the site owner and staff that the relatively few child-age members that frequented the Singles Forum had demonstrated beyond-their-years maturity - and that, "for-the-time-being", it would stand that they would be allowed...

Kids this age are my business. You could say I'm an expert. I firmly believe they should be socializing with their peer group. There should be a delineation between kids and adults in social life online as well as offline. I mean, everyone would think it is weird and unhealthy if a 14 year old kid was best friends with a 30 year old adult in real life.
