The holy spirit does not leave any believer. The word says that you are sealed unto redemption. you belong to Jesus and not the world, or the devil any longer. You cannot find one verse where someone have been holy ghost filled, and turned back the way they were. If they did go back, then they were not of God in the first place. You can't break ties with God after you have been redeemed . You may grieve the holy ghost at times, or surpress it.

]Who here do you believe is only in mental assent, rejecting the Holy Spirit of God? [/QUOTE]
Dear sister, Your question takes me back a step? Actually a good example of mental ascent: believing becomes for following the Lord, nothing else remains to believe in. In the reality of growing up in Christ we encounter a most dreadful place where nothing else is real, like the "thick darkness surrounding His throne," we get past as we continue in Love, actually thanksgiving for Him with us, as its a most lonely place otherwise and would cause us to fall.
Back to your question, I'm convinced am misunderstood by you, if your willing to read again what I wrote, please understand
that I'm not disqualifying anyone from being saved, but that being saved implies growing in Love.

that your expaliantion of what were supposed to be set free from Heres what Jesus and paul both say though

romans 6:What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace?God forbid. 16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?17But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness."

paul said this because Jesus said this

John 8:31-34 "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

when we say we are a sinner, were saying were a slave to sin, or a servant to sin, sin had overcame mankind to the point ( romans 7) where even when we want to do right Knowing Gods Law we couldnt, because sin is part of human nature, whether were a great sinner, or just a small sinner, to be a sinner means you are servant to sin which is the will of satan. That is what Jesus came to make us free from, the dominion of sin over our Life. the control it has over us so that even when we try hard to abstain were still going to sin and fall short.

whats the answer to this dilemna? Heres paul explaining what i just said, this is the issue that Jesus came to solve

romans 7:14-24 "
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

realize this is not pauls description of a child of God, but of the Human sinful nature we inherited from adam paul is illustrating the issue and then He continues to show Whats been done to solve this problem of being captive to this law of sin within us

romans 8:2-7 "
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (7:23) 3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: why ?

4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

to really Get what pauls saying go find what Hes saying about this in the epistles, heres 1 example what is it to mind the flesh?

Galatians 5:16-21 "
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. ( notice here how paul is saying the same thing as in romans)

18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: ( now you know that walking after the flesh includes what you actually do and the result of continuing on afterthe flesh in these ways?) >>>>of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Jesus and His Gospel of the spirit of Life ( john 6:63, john 8:31-32) sets the DISCIPLE free from the power of sin to control us. it takes sinners forgives thier pasts so that they are reconciled to God, and then through obedience to the Gospel, sets us free from the slavery to sin we had always Known. this is pauls major message in almost all of His words, its why he always refers to " when you were in the flesh, and now you are in the spirit" or you are new creations, the old is Gone the new has come" when he talks of crucifying the flesh" when he talks of mortifying the deeds pf the Body" all of His wordings are geared toward the message of what God has done for us in condemning the sin that was in our hearts that caused us to do evil, even when we were trying hard to be good according to Gods Law. even though we arent Jews Gods Law is in our Hearts because man was made from God and in His image, the ten commandments are within us its why people hide things they do that are wrong like affairs, they know its wrong so they hide it, or murders , most know lying is wrong ect.

until we accept that were not like we were before, just sinners with no ability to live a Children of God in word and deed, we will just spin the wheels in the mud and argue about things. the truth is that Jesus has accomplished everything we need to now do our part, because we really are new.
copying and pasting ,other peoples work, is your problem, picking and choosing, what you answer to, is also your problem, talking in context to your own stand, is your problem.

You are teaching false doctrine about works because you don't understand what works they are talking about. spiritual works is what scripture is talking about, and not the works of your hands, which is the works of the flesh.

yet only the blindness, of the fool and foolish ,would miss, all religions, not just christian, that claim to believe in a god.
have to have, some form of proof, to back up there stand, in there belief in a god. the torah is already in the old testament.
jesus is in the new testament.

when the logus word , keeps you in want, to a new covenant , it is the bible word, that keeps you in prison, to law. (and that your choice. )
Acts 10: Peter and Cornelius
1 At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort,2 a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God.3 About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God come in and say to him, "Cornelius."4 And he stared at him in terror and said, "What is it, Lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God.5 And now send men to Joppa and bring one Simon who is called Peter.6 He is lodging with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea."7 When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier from among those who attended him,8 and having related everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

Cornelius already believed in a god, yet was told to send for peter.(acts 10)

so all religions, are held in place, by a new covenant. and that would be through, belief in a god through jesus.

jesus came to set the prisoners free, from something,

ask ,seek, knock.

then you ,would need to prove, by scripture, you were given a law, so that you can repent from your sin.

a form of repentance of sin, was already in place for the jewish people, they had to take an animal to the temple to gain forgiveness. if repentance was only required, because of law.

they are going to have, a bigger problems ,with not having a god. etc

ie a new covenant, never asked you to follow, a old covenant. etc
buddy, we do havge a law to follow, it begins when John is beheaded and Jesus is annointed to preach the Gospel. everything that Jesus spoke in His ministry is the law of the spirit of Life. if you examine Jesus ministry you will find that i a person obeys the gospel, the law of God will be kept perfectly. the commandment " thou shalt not commit adultery" Jesus teaches to rid your heart and mind of lust because to lust after someone is already adultery in your heart. if we obey His word about turning from that Lust, we will never commit adultery. or the commandment " thou shalt not kill" Jesus teaches " do not harbor anger toward another or bear a grudge, forgive quickly, bear no ill will toward thy briother, to turn the other cheek and not envy or covet to not let greed reside in us, if we follow that, we will never kill anyone.

the commandment thou shalt Have no other Gods before Me, Jesus teaches to Love God above all, if we follow this well never even look to a different God and that commandment is kept . on and on thats How it works. Jesus and the Gospel is the circumcision of our Hearts, maening that part of our heart that causes us to act in sin, Jesus says this and this is the nature of His Gospel

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. 26Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

im sure you get that Jesus isnt talking about a cup or a dish here Hes talking about our heart the inside of the dish because of this

matthew 15:19-20 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

if you put that together you will understand why the gospel is like it is a teaching about the inner things, because if there is no lust, there will never be any adiltery, if there is no reason in the heart to harm another person, there will never be a reason to kill anyone. if a person has no selfish greed or covetousness in thier Heart, you will never find them robbing and stealing from others, if a person foirgives offenses quickly, there will never be a need to take vengance on another. on and on. you see the Gospel that was taught by Jesus, that is what fixes the issue that the Law could not fix.

The law has all the right regulations, the problem was the people were sinners at Heart. even when they obeyed the law thoier Hearts were still in rebellion because thats what a sinner is and where sin comes from, the Heart of a man, the inner man the mind, the thouights. today there are so many things seeking to corrupt our inner thouights and heart Like pronography, this creates images and thoughts that are sexually immoral, when you spend time fixed on something like that, it will impart the spoirit of lust into your heart, or watch enough violence movies and it will leave wrong thoughts in you.

The gospel is the answer to the issue of man living in rebellion to Gods Law, Gods Law is perfect, its Good, right and holy. as to your suggestion only jews have a law, thats not true either. man was made from God, the life in us was breathed from God into us. adam corrupted that and passed it on, but still the moirality of the law is in even a non believer, when a man nurders they hide the fact they did it, thatshows " thou shalt not Kill" is in themn because they Know its wrong to do that so they hide it from others.

when a person steals, they hide it from others because they Know its wrong, when a person has an affair, they hide it because they Know by nature its wrong. the law of the ten commandments are in Humans whether they read it or not, whether they believe in God or not. did you Know that the morality of the commandments are in almost every nation on earths Laws? its always illegal to kill, to steal, rape, extort, all of those maralities we find written in the law, are part of Human nature, its Just that because of the fruit and our parents we have both good and evil in us so though we kNow things are wrong, we do them and hide it from everyone. thats the evil in us, the sin within us.

its the Knowledge of both good, and also evil. thats what the fruit did to us because both our parents consumned the good and evil and therefore they passed it on to thier descendants. Notice Just 3 chaoters after they ate the fruit, God says mankind is only evil all the time, and the thoughts of our hearts were no longer any good, so He destroys man save noah and 7 others. that fruit destropyed Gods Good creation because it brought evil into us and we werent ready for the knowledge of evil. it destroyed us who were made in Gods image in the beginning. thats why Jesus came to solve all of that.

The gospel is our Law, but its spiritual rather than temporal. its the solution. the Law of moses was given to those with sinful hearts and there was no spirit indwelling offered, its a restraint upon sinners by rules and regulations, and a teacher of what is right, and what is wrong. Jesus though brings Life, He brings the answer because His Gospel solves the disobeidient Heart issue that causes us to desire and follow evil. oits a cleansing of the heart and when the heart is clean, our actions will be clean. Our Law is found in matthew-john. the four accounts of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. and this not only includes His ministry but the Knowledge of His death, resurrection, ascention, the fact that He explained He would send the spirit when He was seated Beside God. everything we need for Life is the Gospel the rest is Just a testimony of Jesus and the Gospel.

The ot shows us the issue and promises Jesus is coming with salvation for not only israel, but for all people on earth, and the new testament is saying Jesus came He is the messiah, He rose from the dead, He is the Lord Hear Jesus go to Jesus He is the Lord He is the One who can save us. ots all about the Gospel. thats Our salvation to follow the gospel and in doing so the ten commandmenst will be kept and it wont be a problem to do so. the result of the gospel is this

1 john 5:1-5 "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

the result of the gospel and following it is that we will keep the commandments without it being like the ot a greivance and something thats a burden to us, the ten commandments will actually be something we Love having because they outline Gods Law and ways.

we do have a law just not the mosaic Law anymore. we have the Law that gives life the gospel, rather than the oppressive law that condemns the mosaic Law. the ten commandments are in both the law and the gospel, its just that Jesus makes us able through faith bit true faith that learns and obeys Him. that will solve the sin problem for anyone who dares to test that it will kill the power of sin in us, because the power of sin is in our hearts. if our hearts are cleansed, were hime free regarding actions

Hi followjesus,

Absolutely, I believe God loves Grace777 as well as everyone of us here. I pray for him and others here as well. God is not willing that any of us should be lost but all should come to repentance and be saved. Sometimes it can be difficult to try and express yourself via the internet. It is only be God's love that we can know and follow Jesus. We only love Him because He first loved us. We can only find him though as we seek him through His Word because He is calling us to worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

God bless FJ:rolleyes:
agreed :) i understand g777 pretty well tho, weve had many many many debates. Like i said i pray litteraly someone can get through to Him on so many points because some of what he will not accept is 100 percent essential stuff. nevertheless God is able to work in all of us, when we reach the point where we stop fighting against truth. God bless you as well abundantly and in all things Jesus Christ

"For if you forgive not, neither will your Father in heaven forgive you."
All Manner of sin shall be forgiven to man but rejecting the holy spirit shall not be forgiven."
The Holy Spirit is not the one leaving His help has been rejected, this is not referring to having trouble to forgive but becoming filled with violence. Matthew 24:48

whats a " spiritual work"? that has nothing to do with action? were called to follow in thois life the spirit of God and His things with our Bodies.

romans 12:1 "Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

Grieving the Holy spirit leads to chastenment.....how many people would adopt a child and throw them out as soon as they misbehave?

Why do some worship a god who is more cruel then most humans?

God's love transforms the heart and mind. His Holy spirit teaches us how to be more like Him and walk in His light and love.

If God does not correct and teach us, we aren't His children and either still under the Old Covenant (the Law haven't fully lead us to Christ) or trapped by Satan's lies.

There are Christians that believe that Jesus is the substance of all the law of Moses and that they speak about Him - that He has fulfilled all things - the law including the Sabbath is but a shadow of the real thing which is and always will be Christ Himself and so He is our Sabbath rest as Hebrews 4 talks about.

Resting in Christ's work for us on the cross and resurrection of which we have died with Him. This is the reason we have died to the law, been released from the law, and not under the law - SO THAT we could be joined to Another - Christ Himself.

To me - saying that "If gentiles do not keep the Sabbath Day as in the law of Moses - they are dis-obeying God and are sinning "

This is a Judaizer belief system which is anti-Christ at it's core. - because of what so many have shown to those that say we must keep the law of Moses now that we are Christians . Paul has refuted that in Galatians and in Romans.

Acts 15:5 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] But some of the sect of the Pharisees who had believed stood up, saying, "It is necessary to circumcise them and to direct them to observe the Law of Moses."

Acts 15:10-11 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] "Now therefore why do you put God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?

[SUP]11 [/SUP] "But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are." ( Not by keeping the law of Moses which is part of the 10 commandments )
We can trust the life of Christ in us now. We don't need the law to tell us how to live - we are under grace now and NOT the law of Moses and grace "teaches" us how to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in this present age. Titus 2:11-12.

This is why we are NOT under the law anymore but under grace only.

This is the real reason why some extreme sects of the Hebrew Roots movement and Sabbath keepers as in the Old Testament way are being shown to in fact be Judaziers and they are as Paul said - perverting and distorting the gospel of the grace of Christ.

You will constantly be having people come against this distortion of the gospel.

Jesus said "I have many things to tell you but you cannot bear them now. But the Holy Spirit when He comes - He will teach you all things and reveal the things of Me and show them unto you."

Meaning - Jesus had many other things to tell us but the disciples couldn't understand them yet - Jesus has used Paul to show what these things are by the Holy Spirit. You do not get these in the 4 gospels. The words spoken to Paul are from Jesus' words and are just as valid.

The proclamation of Christ produces the profession of Christ, but the explanation of Christ is what produces the experience of Christ.

Believers can never fully enjoy the triumph of the gospel and express Christ in this world victoriously
until there has been an explanation and exposition of the vivid details of the redemptive work of Christ that has gained a foothold in our renewed minds.

The 4 gospels were eyewitness accounts of the historical events in the life and ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christianity is based on the veracity of these events as having occurred in real time, in all historicity and specificity.

Nevertheless it is the unveiling of the spiritual realities of these events that relates to the believer in Christ. This is found in the revelation that the Lord Jesus Christ gave to the apostle Paul.

The 4 gospels are the proclamation of the gospel. They disclose to us what men saw. Acts of the apostles is the demonstration of the gospel, but it is Paul's letters which give us an explanation of the gospel. It is the Pauline Epistles that are the constitution of this church age.

Paul's epistles explain what happened from the cross, death, burial, quickening and resurrection to the being seated at the right hand of the Father. Without these epistles we would have no idea what Jesus our Lord actually accomplished for us.

Paul was taught by Jesus Christ Himself to explain His gospel = to reveal the mystery that was hidden in God until it was revealed by Christ to Paul. The mystery being Christ Himself and the riches of that glory is that Christ is in us and we are in union with Him as one spirit!

These "explanations" of the mystery of the gospel that Christ is in us - cannot be found openly in the 4 gospels themselves. We need to marry the things Paul said with the words of Jesus in the 4 gospels.

It is in Paul's explanation of the gospel that Christ is in us - the hope of glory where we find the nutrients to walk by the spirit.

Yeah.....I know some folks reject that the Holy spirit convicts people of sin..,,they don't like the word convict.

Prefer the word "convince", but the concept is basically that God shows you that you fall short of who He has made you to be and have wandered away from the plan He has for your life.

As we mature in Christ, God shows us how His plans are for our good and how much He loves us and the world. We learn to trust and have a greater faith in Him. We love others because His loves us even when we don't deserve that love, even when we were sinners.

I disagree. Jesus proclaimed that we would be one with Him in the gospel accounts.

Paul does expand more fully Jesus teachings but they are evident in the gospel accounts also.

The 10 commandments were called the ministry of condemnation and of death by Paul. We can trust the life of Christ in us to live godly in this world.

The grace of God "teaches" now in the New Covenant how to deny ungodliness and to live sensibly, righteous and godly in this present age - NOT the law of Moses. Titus 2:11-12

The 10 commandments are called the "letter that kills" and the "ministry of death" - The New Covenant is called the "ministry of the Spirit" that brings Life.

The 10 commandments were called "the ministry of condemnation" - the New Covenant is called "the ministry of righteousness."
This is Christ's righteousness given to us that believe.
