If you are suggesting that numbers have no significance in Scripture or in spiritual matters, you are clearly mistaken. There are certain numbers which have great spiritual significance, and they are worthy of close study. There is nothing pseudo-Christian or cultic about the study of numbers and their significance. Why are there 12 tribes of Israel and not 13? Why is the number 7 repeated over and over again in the book of Revelation? Why are there 144,000 redeemed Jews in Revelation 7 and 14, and not 145,000 or something else?

When scientists study the universe, they find that everything is present with mathematical precision, and mathematics is from God, who Himself is the Great Mathematician. And it is God who has decided as to why certain numbers (or combinations thereof) have tremendous significance. Therefore we must give heed.

This is a coin minted for Caesar Augustus, in power at the time Christ was born. The inscription says, "Divi F!!!" Anyone (besides me) know what that means?

Also, Concerning the story of the so-called divine birth of Augustus found in the Theologumena, Suetonius writes:

Augustus’s mother, Atia, with certain married women friends, once attended a solemn midnight service at the Temple of Apollo, where she had her litter set down, and presently fell asleep as the others also did. Suddenly a serpent gliding up, entered her, and then gliding away again. On awakening, she purified herself, as if after intimacy with her husband. An irremovable coloured mark in the shape of a serpent, which then appeared on her body, made her ashamed to visit the public baths any more; and the birth of Augustus nine months later suggested a divine paternity.

Who gave the beast its power?

That's the thing about it everyone kind of hint's around about it but then drifts off into the foggy grey area I spoke of. Instead of simply stating to us to count it go step by step and explain it. No offence in me saying this but seeing it is so important a thing to understand then if you think you know what it is a step by step explanation would be what God would want would it not?

I've explained this countless times but it doesn't fit everybodies idea of the mark so it gets dismissed.

There is only one way to count a number that I know of, maybe you know of another way and if so please tell me.

0 hundreds + 0 tens + 666 ones = 666
0 hundreds + 66 tens + 6 ones = 666
6 hundreds + 6 tens + 6 ones = 666

66 tens + 6 ones is the only one of those countings with any biblical significance. 66 represents the word of God, 6 represents man. 66 (word of God) + 6 (man) = Man ADDING TO the word of God.

We have to believe the bible for exactly what it says, when the bible says count the number 666 then that means count the number 666.

hmm,,, did you notice that the man that Neb, saw in Daniel 2 was 66 cubits tall and 6 cubits wide?

Yes I did and that statue represents the men and women that have the mark 666. But Daniel 2 isn't going to help us understand who THE MAN with 666 is. That can only be understood by counting his number.

It's real nifty how we sit back on our couches and get the zapper and flip through the channels. We take a glance and if we see a channel where those poor people are starving and go "oh,those poor people!" we all still have the option to push the button on the zapper and change it to a happy channel. That's what we do we change the channel to the future or the past and say "oh,those poor people who have/had the mark" never one does it cross our minds to leave it on the current channel and think.
