Zechariah 14:20-21 (ESV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] And on that day there shall be inscribed on the bells of the horses, “Holy to the LORD.” And the pots in the house of the LORD shall be as the bowls before the altar.
[SUP]21 [/SUP] And every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holy to the LORD of hosts, so that all who sacrifice may come and take of them and boil the meat of the sacrifice in them. And there shall no longer be a traderin the house of the LORD of hosts on that day.
Zechariah 14:2-5 (HCSB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people {144,000} will not be removed from the city.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations as He fights on a day of battle.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. The Mount of Olives will be split in half from east to west, forming a huge valley, so that half the mountain will move to the north and half to the south.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] You{144,000} will flee by My mountain valley, for the valley of the mountains will extend to Azal. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come and all the holy ones with Him.
Zechariah 14:12 (HCSB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] This will be the plague the LORD strikes all the peoples with, who have warred against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
What? Are you saying that God is going to command the earthly temple to be built? I don't understand the point.
I'm going to post the KJV too since there are errors in the translations you posted.
Zechariah 14:2-5 [SUP]2 [/SUP]For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and
half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and
the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And
ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Zechariah 14:12
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem;
Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
Zechariah 14:20-21[SUP]20 [/SUP]In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, Holiness Unto The Lord; and the pots
in the Lord's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts: and
all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them,
and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the
Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.
The 144,000 are 12,000 from every tribe of Israel, if it's talking about Judah, it can't be the 144,000 (which you inserted in to scripture but aren't mentioned). Can you provide any other scripture which says that these people are going to be the 144,000 of Israel?
I don't understand this prophecy. The problem is that since God built His temple in Christians, how can it be from an earthly temple in Jerusalem? Since Zechariah was way before the N.T. did God change what will happen? Or are these things just a metaphor for Christianity?
Revelation and the gospel are newer than Zechariah and make more sense to me.
