It was worded that way in the bible so to make it easier to visualize what actually happened using man's own terminology. Sort of like where the bible mentions that the sun rises and sets when actually it is the earth's rotation that makes night and day possible. God did make the earth stand still for almost a day and later on in another passage a few more minutes to make it 24 hours. I'm not sure if the bible mentions that the earth is at the center of the universe or not. Without knowing the extent of the celestial bodies in space it would be impossible to determine.

If NASA is right about the earth spinning a 1000 miles p/h and rotating 66,000 miles p/h around the sun; then the Bible has science problems big time.
The Bible supports an earth that has been spread out by God with the heavens He stretched over it as a canopy or tent. God describes the earth as having borders to keep the oceans in and as having edges that he can use to shake the earth. He says the circle of the earth, and never the sphere of the earth or ball. And Hebrew has word to describe ball and sphere, but the inspired writer used the term circle.
Jesus said he is coming back, and every eye will see Him; this is not possible unless it is a geocentric system of cosmology. The Bible describe the sun as moving and the moon. God said the earth cannot be moved and that he set up its foundations so that it is established and stable. It says God's word has gone out to the ends of the earth; a ball doesn't have ends. It comes down to do we believe God and the Bible or NASA and man.
The Devil showed Jesus on a high mountain all the kingdoms of the world; this is obviously not possible in a heliocentric system. God would say to you: "Have you not heard has it not been told to you from the beginning God sits above the circle of the earth and spreads the heavens over it like a canopy the inhabitants are as grasshoppers."
So the Bible is a huge problem for Christians who adhere to a heliocentric system of cosmology, and there are atheist that believe the Bible version of the earth and they have done experiments showing that water always remains level. If the earth is a sphere with a 25,000 mile circumference through spherical trigonometry the curvature can be systemically calculated and every test shows that water remains level. High powered lasers were used over miles showing no compensation in the water for curvature. Go figure. For now I'll stick to the Bible's description.

As has been discussed and demonstrated ad nauseum, the sunset and sunrise ((Biblical terms, y'all)) are enormous problems for anyone who thinks the earth is a disc.
It is inarguably impossible to see what trillions of eyes see, every morning and every evening, if we live on a frittata.

Okay, then this presents a problem, because the Bible doesn't portray a round earth. God said He takes earth by the edges and He states he spread out the earth and laid its foundation and He asks where were you when He did this? God said the earth has ends, and everyone knows a sphere doesn't.
The light of the moon reflected on an object on earth is cooler than the shade of the moon which means the moon doesn't reflect sunlight, but is its own source of light. Water level test were performed with laser at great distances showing water always remains level. They call it "water level" for a reason not water curvel . If the earth is spinning a thousand miles an hour, why doesn't that affect the water in spite of gravity? If we spin a wet tennis ball all the water flies off. Gravity doesn't keep it there.

I am not sure what it is exactly like on Antarctica but until I know, I'll stick with the Bible's description of the earth and the dome above it. The little demonstration of yours proves nothing either because there are good arguments that the sun is way closer that 93,000,000 miles away by the angle of light. Nice try but no cigar.

What vacuum? What space?
In the Flat Earth model, there is no "vacuum of space" -- because, there is no 'space' ( in the sense you are thinking of - i.e. - "outer space" ). The only 'space' is that which is under the dome - where the air pressure does measurably vary with elevation.
The only "container" is the dome itself.

There is speculation that there is life and other continents passed Antarctica. Does anyone know of any Biblical verses that show that? We already know the Bible shows a geocentric system of earth with a dome, but it is not clear how far out the dome goes or how wide. People have made rockets with cameras on them showing that it cannot go beyond 73 miles straight up, because it hits the dome. We have been brainwashed and lied to
Simple problem, dawn in the artic, a fully formed disk appears over the horizon, and
as the seasons progress stays above the horizon no matter what.
If this is a distance issue and not the earth coming between us and the sun, why is it
as I move towards the equator it appears to set below the horizon?
Now I could understand a haze effect, so it fades away or blinks out, but the transition
from 24 hrs sun light to longer and longer nights with a setting horizon only fits with
a globe model.

Wait!!!! I have got it. I am not using the internet, communicating around the world
using cables buried on the sea floor, across continents, it is all pretend with a film
set, and you know the truth!!!!!
I think this demonstrates if we find it hard to imagine what man can achieve, how
can we grasp what God has achieved!!!!

"Lens flare" doesn't address anything. It's an excuse to explain away what your senses perceive.
The sunset you posted displays the sun setting "hard right" from the observer, rather than setting away from the observer. This makes a big difference in the perceived size of the sun and the point being made.

I am understanding that no one has made to thousands of miles up into space, and the only satellite rotating above the circle of the earth is the moon. IOW, there are no satellites rotating around the circumference of the earth, it is all a lie. People have made rockets with good cameras on them, and they hit a barrier about 360,000 feet up above the earth. The Google maps are photo shop not from thousands of miles up. You cannot prove what you say; so, you are safer believing the Bible instead of man or Google.
