Again I agree with you.
However the verse you quoted mentions mystery and a secret.
This is exactly what need unpacking and explaining...
You see what was the mystery and the secret that has now been manifested and what is its significance?

I am not being cryptic here: misunderstanding of this very thing is driving all the conflict on this forum and is threatening Christianity at large!
being able to read in context mite help,

14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.

15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.Ephesians 2

if it is a gift from god, when was it maintain by a jewish law or give by follow this law. some one had to die to make the change over.

and you would think these verses explain this.

if they cannot understand the above, then they will not understand being led by the holy spirit.
paul talking to the apostle peter.(peter being the eye witness )

Galatians 3: By Faith, or by Works of the Law?
1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?4 Did you suffer so many things in vain---if indeed it was in vain?5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith---6 just as Abraham "believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"?

Inasmuch as what you have written I agree with it...
But the million dollar question is this:
This obedience that God calls us to, what is it?

This question does need an answer primarily because it is the root of almost all the argument on this forum currently.
Believe in Jesus Christ and what He has done for us upon the cross and OBEY the HOLY SPIRIT and how HE leads us to live godly lives for HIS GLORY and chastens us until we produce a fruit of righteousness which stems from Christ's imputed rigjteousness upon us.

Hebrews 12
11For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

*****

Easy believism is defined as giving half the gospel message.

.it talks about the cross and the death of Jesus for our sins,, but falls short on teaching about His resurrection and ours and how we are to live for God's glory by overcoming sin and being chastened and trained by the Holy spirit.

Legalism only gives half the message as well and talks about laws to earn salvation without true understanding and faith in what Jesus did upon the cross.

The obedience that God calls us to is a putting away of self and our own ways and being led by God and His Ways.

No one claims easy believism, but many are accused of teaching or believing it.
I don't see what's so easy about it.

Going against our own nature and our own "understanding" and strength isn't easy.

It wasn't for me...

Jesus said that He lived by the Father inside of Him. He said that it is the Father inside Him who is doing His works - not Jesus. He could do nothing of His own initiative.

As Jesus lived by the life of the Father in Him - with total dependence on His life - so we too live by the life of Christ inside of us manifesting His life as a fruit of our union as one spirit with Christ. We too can do nothing without Christ.

We live now from the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus, the law of love, the law of liberty in Christ, the law of faith ( the law is NOT of faith ) , the law of Christ Himself.

God gives us grace at the revelation of Jesus Christ. He does not give us grace to "keep the law".

Rather grace enables us to live and feed on the life of Christ that is in us in our new creation - of which He has made us partakers of His life, joined us to Christ as one spirit. sealing us and filling us with His mighty Holy Spirit.

Any good works that flow from us as a result of this is simply a fruit of the Spirit inside of us manifesting His life and good works in and through us. So, really we have nothing to boast about.

1 Peter 1:13
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Right believing in Christ and all that He has done for us will supply the proper nutrients for right thinking ( repentance ) which will lead to a Spirit-led life of doing good works. Works that have their origin in our spirit by the Holy Spirit
.

There is a false "good works" which has it's origin in the flesh. Just like Abraham tried "to do the will of God " by his own self-effort and created an Ishmael.

Psalm 127:1 (NASB) Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.

Those scriptures you post need to be understood within the clear teaching of the bible of what salvation is as eternal justification by God for those who have been born again.
One cannot be unborn once they have been born again.
I am not going to touch on the rapture that is a side issue.

However, these biblical statements need to be, denied, overlooked, and/or undone in order for eternal life not to be eternal.

As Believers in Christ we:

  • Are given the FREE GIFT of salvation (eternal life). Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9
  • Can KNOW we have eternal life. 1 John 5:13
  • Are part of God’s eternal plan for Believers – Ephesians 1:4
  • Are redeemed and forgiven by Christ – Ephesians1:7
  • Are reconciled to God in Christ – 2 Corinthians 5:19
  • Are beneficiaries of Christ’s payment (propitiation/atonement) for our sins -1 John 2:2
  • Are forgiven all trespasses and sins – Colossians 2:13
  • Have fellowship and communion with Jesus Christ – I Corinthians 1:9
  • Are free from the law of sin and death – Romans 8:2
  • Are a child of God by Faith in Christ – Galatians 3:26
  • Are adopted into God’s family- Ephesians1:4-5
  • Are made acceptable to God by Jesus Christ – 1 Peter 2:5
  • Are justified — declared righteous before a Holy God – Romans 5:1
  • Are made to be near to God – Ephesians2:13
  • Are delivered from the power of Satan. – Colossians 1:13, 2 Corinthians 4:3-6
  • Are translated into the Kingdom of His dear Son – Colossians 1:13
  • Are placed upon the Foundation, The Rock (Jesus Christ) – 1 Corinthians 10:4, 1 Corinthians 3:9-15
  • Are a gift to Christ – John 17:9-10
  • Are circumcised (made without hands) in Christ – Colossians 2:11
  • Are holy and royal priests – 1 Peter 2:5, 9
  • Are a chosen generation, a peculiar (different) people for the purpose — to show forth the praises of Christ – to be holy – 1 Peter 2:9
  • Are citizens of heaven – Philippians 3:20, (21)
  • Are of the family and household of God – Ephesians2:19
  • Are in the fellowship of the saints (believers) – Ephesians2:19
  • Are risen with Christ – In the Heavenlies, – Colossians 3:1, Ephisians 1:3
  • Are granted access to God the Father through Christ – Ephesians2:18
  • Are within the care of God – 1 Peter 5:7
  • Are His inheritance – Ephesians1:18
  • Are beneficiaries of an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance – 1 Peter 1:4
  • Are the light bearers to the world – Romans 1:16, 2 Corinthians 4:3,4
  • Are united eternally with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – John 14:20, 1 Corinthians 2:12
  • Are blessed with the earnest (down payment) of the Holy Spirit Who guarantees our eternal inheritance in Jesus Christ – Ephesians1:13-14
  • Are baptized into the Body of Christ, by the Holy Spirit the moment we believe – 1 Corinthians 12:13
  • Are sealed with the Holy Spirit the moment we believe – Ephesians1:13
  • Are complete in Christ – Colossians 2:9,10
  • Are called out of darkness into Christ’s Marvelous Light – 1 Peter 2:9

I just read through those steps and he is teaching "once saved always saved"

Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
...
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

These people are believers. If they don't enter in to the kingdom of heaven, where do they go?

"does the will of my Father" - "doeth" is works, in order to get in to heaven.

Also they are teaching pre-tribulation rapture. The rapture happens after the sun / moon go dark.

Matthew 24:
[SUP]29[/SUP]Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

[SUP]30 [/SUP]And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

[SUP]31 [/SUP]And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

I see what you are getting at. There is too much of a self focus where people sit around and talk about all God has done for them and don't ask what they can do for others to share God's blessing and love.

I do believe growing and abiding are a good thing for Christians to do. Also agree that disciple making is a worthy calling.

However I believe God has different purposes for all His children. We may not all be called to be evangelist but we can nuture and care for the Body of Christ in different ways.

I do agree the focus should be less on us and more on God and others. I just believe that Jesus uses us where we are for His glory.

Anyway I finally figured out what was bugging me about G777 post.

The doctrine that we become a new spirit man upon being born again, etc.

I don't agree completely because we are NOT born full grown. We are born babes in Christ and we grow and mature into the people God wants us to be.

The whole talk of just "putting on Christ" to reveal who we "really" are falls short because we aren't fully grown and mature until God walks with us for a while. We are chastened and learn to live godly lives and discern good from evil.

Those concepts aren't automatic.

Anyway, since I somehow offended the Op, I will just find a different thread to follow.

Correct, you may not be called specifically to be an evangelist, but.. we are all called to be ministers of reconciliation.[making disciples]

I always think "making disciples" is an evangelist job...I believe teachers help disciples grow....mercy folks feed and clothe them....prophets encourage, exhort and show them who God means them to be, etc.

Perhaps we can discuss in another thread?

Have a blessed day, beloved brothers and sisters.

"Are you really saved or do you just think you are?" Exposing the lie of Easy Believism:

Easy believism is bad doctrine that has become prevalent throughout many churches in the west. It is the reason why so many churches have willingly embraced the biblically defiant & unrepentant lgbt agenda (apostasy). Easy believism teaches that you are saved based solely on your own ability to believe certain truths about Jesus Christ (mental ascent) and how you live your life, no matter... how sinful, does not compromise one's belief. However, nothing could be further from biblical truth.

Easy believism actually contradicts the Bible in several ways. In contrast, scripture teaches that one is saved by placing complete trust (faith) in Christ and his word, resulting in a believer understanding that he or she is absolutely powerless to do anything to save themselves. Because their eternal destiny rests squarely upon the shoulders of Jesus Christ, a believer will then pattern his or her lifestyle after Christ and his teachings in order to maintain right relationship daily with he who holds our destiny in his hands.

Grace is but one of several amazing aspects of Christ's character. Where there is a person, ministry, or church that over emphasizes grace (forgiveness of sins), elevating it above all of Christ's many other equally important attributes, you can be pretty confident that easy believism is at work. Proponents of easy believism will define grace "unmerited favor" and proceed to explain how Jesus bore the cross of Calvary for the forgiveness of sins. While true, they fail to adequately explain the complete nature of grace by omitting several important details.

Authentic Biblical grace is far more than forgiveness of sins only. Scripture defines grace as a divine invitation to walk daily in intimate fellowship with the presence and power of indwelling (Holy) Spirit of Christ where victory over sin and self (holiness) may be attained, should you pursue it. 2 Peter 1:2-11 teaches that, through grace, everything necessary to live a Godly life has been made available to believers.

Grace is not, nor ever was, God's willingness to ignore your sin. It is the power to overcome them. A person can not partake of life in Christ and indulge the flesh simultaneously for to partake of one is to forsake / abandon the other.

In the words of AW Tozer, one of the 20th century's most regarded pastors and influential Christian authors: "If your life does not worship God, your lips do not worship God either."
amen ! posts like this are Badly, badly needed in this forum. anytime Grace is exalted above Jesus Christ and His word, its the " grace" of the serpent no different from eden. anytime the idea that Jesus word is not the word to live by , and believe by comes up, its not from God, and will not lead to salvation. The idea of " easy beleiefism" sells to the world and the truth is not liked by the world because it requires ones life to be given wholely to Jesus Christ, it requires us to have a Lord, to heed His word as if He is Our Lord. it requires daily sacrifice in laying ones self down and following after the righteousness of God that is in Christ Jesus.

Good post couldnt agree more, the distortion of Grace is doing alot of damage to the Chrurch of Jesus Christ and even more to the people who would be set free.

 Pass more popcorn please.... Our opinions matter little with God. Its only God's Word that matters. We need to be as little children and seek Jesus through His Word everyday and ask Him to teach us His Words and what His Words mean. If we follow the teachings of man we can be deceived and lost.

God's blessing to all
