You are saying there is a gap. The final week is not fulfilled right? What stopped the prophetic clock? Any Bible on it?

KJV1611 I think some historic premillennialists today also believe Daniel 9:27 is future. I have to give them some credit in that their view is the oldest view in Church history. Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Ignatius, all of them historic premillennial.

But why is there a 2000year gap in the weeks? What causes it? Anybody know?
Greetings Bogadile,

Simply put, at the end of sixty-nine of the seventy sevens that were decreed upon Israel and Jerusalem (Dan.9:24), the Messiah was cut off, Christ crucified. From that time on God put a hold on (paused) that last seven years and began to build the church, which is still in progress. Once the Church has been completed, the Lord will descend and gather His church. After that God will pick up where He left off, fulfilling that last seven years (Dan.9?:27) which was decreed upon Israel and Jerusalem in conjunction with the Lord's return to end the age and to establish His millennial kingdom.

Because that's the only way dispensationalism works. :)
So! It turns out that I no longer know what dispensationalism is. It used to be a study of the different dispensations. Kind of like this...

Now I see there is a different kind of dispensationalism.....HMMMM

well can someone answer me............. it says oblation and sacrifice not covenant?
Hello Muzungu256,

Below are all of the major translations for that scripture. He, that ruler, confirms a covenant for seven years and in the middle of that covenant, he puts and end to the sacrifices and offerings that will have been going on. The covenant allows Israel to build their temple and begin to perform sacrifices and offerings.

Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."

New Living Translation
The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him."

English Standard Version
And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”

New American Standard Bible
"And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."

King James Bible
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
He will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator."

International Standard Version
He will make a binding covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he will suspend both the sacrifice and grain offerings. Destructive people will cause desolation on the pinnacle until it is complete and what has been decreed is poured out on the desolator.'"

NET Bible
He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of that week he will bring sacrifices and offerings to a halt. On the wing of abominations will come one who destroys, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys."

New Heart English Bible
He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who destroys, and even until a complete destruction, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys."

GOD'S WORD® Translation
He will confirm his promise with many for one set of seven time periods. In the middle of the seven time periods, he will stop the sacrifices and food offerings. This will happen along with disgusting things that cause destruction until [those time periods] come to an end. It has been determined that this will happen to those who destroy [the city]."

JPS Tanakh 1917
And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week; and for half of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and upon the wing of detestable things shall be that which causeth appalment; and that until the extermination wholly determined be poured out upon that which causeth appalment.'

New American Standard 1977
“And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”

Jubilee Bible 2000
In one week (they are now seventy) he shall confirm the covenant by many: and at the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and because of the many abominations, desolation shall come, even until complete destruction shall be poured out upon the abominable people.

King James 2000 Bible
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

American King James Version
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured on the desolate.

American Standard Version
And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations' shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate.

Douay-Rheims Bible
And he shall confirm the covenant with many, in one week: and in the half of the week the victim and the sacrifice shall fall: and there shall be in the temple the abomination of desolation: and ihe desolation shall continue even to the consummation, and to the end.

Darby Bible Translation
And he shall confirm a covenant with the many [for] one week; and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and because of the protection of abominations [there shall be] a desolator, even until that the consumption and what is determined shall be poured out upon the desolate.

English Revised Version
And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and for the half of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the consummation, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolator.

Webster's Bible Translation
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations, he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

World English Bible
He shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the wing of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, shall [wrath] be poured out on the desolate.

he is making desolate, even till the consummation, and that which is determined is poured on the desolate one.'

Well The Jews are still the chosen people but we are the adopted ones. Did you know? An adopted son (or daughter) by covenant has a much stronger position than a natural born son. A man can disown his natural son but he cannot disown his adopted son. By blood covenant law...he would have to die if he broke that covenant

That can't be right because Christ was in the church in the wilderness.
Jesus said, "I will build my Church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." From the time of His death, the Lord has been building His church, which is still in the process of being built. Once the church is completed, then the Lord will gather it. After that, God will click on His prophetic stop watch and pick up where He left off with that last seven years in fulfillment of the decree.

I want to ask all dispensationalists a question: If you are in Christ can you say "I am part of Israel" as per Ephesians 2, Galatians 3 and so on??

And is the unbelieving Jew still an "authentic" Israelite in the sense that He is chosen and Saved?

The whole entire nation of Israel is his chosen. Judah is the only nation of the twelve tribes that God did not blind their eyes to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What does the book of Romans say about your second question?

As to the first...Denadii shrugs.

I do know that at the rapture,(I'm definitely Pretrib) the age of grace ends and the time of the Jew resumes. God is not done with them yet.

Why shrug, answer the question. If you are in Christ can you say "I am part of Israel" as per Ephesians 2, Galatians 3 and so on??

What I have found....The main scripture saying that the Jews are no longer the chosen...Romans 11:17 The branches being broken off.....But the Word says "Some of the branches" not ALL of the branches. There were thousands of Jews saved right there on Pentecost. Read it. The promises of God are forever...Jesus Christ The same yesterday, today, and forever....Too much there still to say that the Jews are the chosen still...And we are grafted into that tree

[h=1]Romans 11:16-18 (KJV)[/h] [SUP]16 [/SUP]For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

They are chosen, the only branches broken off are the other eleven tribes. Judah is the tribe of David. The righteous line. the other tribes will be saved in the last days when the fulfillment of the gentiles is complete.. God promised that with the covenant he has with Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac.. that will be the remnant of Israel.
