I'm not sure how much of this to explain to you. The 10 commandments aren't written into anyone’s hearts or minds. The 10 commandments are requirements. They are death and condemnation to us.
The Law that is written into our hearts and minds is life everlasting. Its Joy and Peace and Faith and Love. And the time that this happens in a Christians life is when... They come to Christ and receive rest. The fulfilment of what the Law Requires.
This is the new covenant “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.” (Heb 8:10; 10:16 quoted from the Old Testament Jeremiah 31:33-34)

The Law requires rest. We receive rest from Christ.
The Law requires love. We receive love from Christ. So when you work at the law in your own understanding you are rejecting what Christ has given. You reject His Wisdom. His Strength. His Love. For what reason? Your own understanding and pride in its place. Galatians 2:19
For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. You aren't dead to the law if you are working at it. If you are attempting to keep a Saturday/Sabbath then you are working at the law. It’s pretty simple, right?
Absolutely Grandpa! We can’t keep God’s Laws through our own efforts, unless Jesus (the Word of God) changes our hearts to walk in newness of life. This can only be done as we have faith in God’s promises. This is the new covenant. It is God who works in us to will and to do of His own good pleasure.
By everything that you have just posted wouldn't you yourself say that it’s true???
Many things you have written I agree with as highlighted above and can be better understood by understanding what the new covenant is
(Heb 8:10; 10:16 quoted from the Old Testament Jeremiah 31:33-34) These are summed up in the two great commandment which all the Law and the prophets hang on…. “Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matt 22:35-40). By the way Jesus was quoting from the Old Testament in regards to the two great commandments. (Deut 6:5; Lev 19:18 etc)

Which part did you think is uncalled for?
Not important its ok. I have to go out for now but happy to chat more latter.

God bless you Grandpa.

I'm not upset when you post. You are free to post whatever you want. I do recognize your attempt to say (deceitfully I might add ) that I get upset because you post "the word of God."
Why do you accuse me of being deceitful when I have only presented God's Word? If you do not believe God's Word that is between you and God. I wish you nothing but love and peace and that you may walk with Jesus

Just because your interpretation of some things is different then others - it doesn't mean they are against the word of God. That is being deceitful.

I have read your website and now I know why the antagonism towards the gospel of the grace of God in Christ's finished work and the Sabbath day keeping as in the Jewish law of Moses.

I wish you the same my friend. Peace and grace to you and I believe you will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If we think that keeping the Sabbath means what we do or don't do one a certain day - whether Saturday or Sunday - we have missed Christ Himself who is our true Sabbath. The Old Testament view of the Sabbath is a mere shadow of the real thing - which is Christ Himself.

I encourage you to look into the New Covenant and you will begin to experience the true Sabbath rest that the Old Testament alludes to - and it is Christ Himself.

Hello Grace777,

Sharing God's Word with you is not being deceitful just because you do not believe what has been presented. All I am saying is to take it to God in prayer and study God's Word for yourself. God wants to be your teacher (John 14:26). It is misinformation to say I am against the Gospel. Far from it. The real Gospel includes the law of God because it shows us that we are sinners in need of a Saviour. Like as has been shown earlier through God's Word, the Sabbath commandment (Ex 20:8-11) your talking about is from God's Law and not the laws of Moses.

God bless you my friend

Hi Grace777,

Jesus is not our Sabbath. The Sabbath is a day that God set apart. According to the book of Moses has it's origin in the creation week before the fall of mankind and before sin entered into the world. God sanctified the Sabbath day (7th Day of creation) and made it a Holy day.

"And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made and God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made." (Gen 2:2-3)

God's people forgot His Laws as they do today that is why God starts off the 4th Commandment as...

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." (Ex 20:8-11)

It's also a sign that God's people worship the true God of creation.

"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." (Rev 14:12)

If God says something to us, it is up to us to believe him and follow him. God's sheep hear His Voice.

Wish you only God's Love and blessings
God bless you

Please forgive the last post as for some reason (possibly my end) not everything was posted the first time.

You make a mistake if you believe that God’s Law is the laws of Moses. Have you wondered why God separated the Book of Moses from God’s Law? (Deut 31:9; Ex 24:4)

The book of Moses “Pentateuch” is made up of the first five books of the Old Testament (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy). As most people know, among other things, records the creation week, the fall of mankind, the rebellion of mankind, the destruction of the world by a flood because of sin. God leading his people out of Egypt, the giving of the Law of God from Sinai, all the laws of the sanctuary service including the ceremonial laws, sacrificial laws (which pointed to Christ and His work on our behalf) and also included civil and health laws.

Many people make the mistake of thinking that these laws of Moses are the Laws of God but it is quite clear that God’s Word separates the laws of Moses from the Laws of God written on stone (Ex 31:18). The laws of Moses were only designed to complement God’s Law by providing a background to why God gave His law (the 10 commandments). The book of Moses (Deut 31:9; Ex 24:4) when it was finished was to be placed in the side of the Ark separate from God’s Law written on stone with the finger of God. God’s Law was made by God, written with the finger of God and spoken to Gods people by God Himself. It is the work of God Himself and is forever. (Ex 31:18; Ex 20:1, 22; Deut 4:13, 31:25-26, Ecc 3:14).

It is very clear from God’s Word that the 10 commandments are the work of God and not the work of Moses otherwise why would God need to separate the Book of Moses from God’s Law (10 commandments)?

Absolutely my friend. God’s Law has not been done away with at all because it was made by God himself. “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.” (Ecc 3:14). However it is still in force after we come to Christ as well because without the Law is no knowledge of sin and without it how do we know if we are following God or not? (Rom 7:7). So if God's Law was not done away with why do you not keep the Sabbath commandment (Ex 20:8-11)?

The text you quoted above is a great promise to God’s people. God’s Word however is very clear as to what the new covenant is….

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.” (Heb 8:10; 10:16 quoted from the Old Testament Jeremiah 31:33-34)

Our rest is from trying to keep God’s Laws in our own strength. God changes our heart as we believe and depend on the same creative power of His Words for our salvation. Now we follow Jesus because we love him. This is the work of God writing His Law (10 commandments) in our heart as we have faith in His Words. God's Law is now in His people if we love Jesus (John 14:15)

I am sorry if you got this impression. But from reading the thread I could not find any messages of anyone saying they believe they need to work to get salvation. Only that if you profess to have faith and do not have works then you do not really have faith at all. This is biblical as is shown in the fruit parables in the Gospels and James…“But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” (James 2:20). We cannot save ourselves God saves us. It is God who works in us to will and to do of His own good pleasure (Phil 2:13) as we have faith in His Words.

Grandpa I think the above is uncalled for don't you? You do not know me and my relationship with God. Only Jesus knows me and knows if I am right with Him. I believe I am right with God because I believe His Words. How about you?

May God help you as you pray and study His Words
Great post my friend ...hope you get a better response than I did being called a 'judaizer for keeping the Sabbath.

Jesus fulfilled the whole of the Law on our behalf because we are incapable of doing that ourselves. The Mosaic Law is not a spiritual Buffet. You are not supposed to pick the bits you like and ignore the rest its all or nothing. Regarding the Sabbath do those who make such an issue of it actually keep it? It runs from Sunset on Friday to Sunset on Saturday. Do they really start at Sunset on Friday ? If they dont keep the Sabbath Law to the letter they are breaking it just as much as someone who ignores all of it.

I have studied the scriptures for hours on end for years. My previous work and my retirement have made this possible. I realize it "conflicts" with some of your religious beliefs and some church traditions you were taught and thus to you they are error and I understand that part in you.
How do you know that I was taught what I believe from some Church traditions or teachings? This is an assumption on your part and is not the truth. But if you are interested in why I believe what I do I am happy to share my experience with you so you know why I believe for future comments.

Many years ago I was lost and alone mixed up in a world of sin that does not know God. I believe Jesus brought me to a place in my life where I needed to pray to God for help as I was desperate for help and had no one in my life to help me. I was mixed up in all sorts of worldly sins and vice. I prayed and asked God for His help in my life at that time although not really knowing God. One thing led to another and I believe God answered my prayer of desperation at that time in my life. I decided at that time that I wanted to learn about God and follow Him but I was confused about Christianity.

I saw so many different Christian religions of Church’s in the world. To me they were all professing the same thing. That is …”We are the chosen ones all you other Churches are wrong, we have the truth.” I thought to myself at that time. How am I ever going to find who God's true Church is? I do not even know God myself.

Then as I was reading the Bible trying to learn about God one day and I came across some Bible verses saying talking about the end days saying. "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." (Matt 24:24) sometimes I look at the Greek and Hebrew meaning and other bible verses in God's Word so to me this verse beside the literal meaning God. I saw that a false prophet can mean a false messenger of God and a false Christ could also mean a false religious system (e.g. Christ is the head of the Church, false Christ is the head of a false religion).

Anyhow I thought this was not encouraging for me how am I going to know God’s truth and His Words? “As the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isa 55:8-9).

Anyhow because of this I decided not to join any Church at that time in my life. I continued to read the Bible and not long after learning the above I believe God showed me the following Bible verses (not all at the same time)……

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isa 55:6-7)

It was like God was telling me I need to Seek Him and give up my old life… more encouraging verses from God as I was reading His Word.. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you and ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Isa 29:11-13) I knew that was my part God wanted me to find him through His Word. That was my part to seek him then he promised me I would find Him…

Not long after God showed me these wonderful verses in His Word…….

“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” (John 16:13).

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:26-27).

Then as I was reading these verses stressed out from thinking how will I ever find God’s truth and with all the false Christianity in the world it was like Jesus was talking to me saying don’t be afraid, don’t worry, if you ask me for my Holy Spirit and you Seek me through my Word you will find me.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)

It was like God was telling me I need to pray for His Spirit to teach me and I needed to seek for His truth like hidden treasure. But He promised me I will know His truth and His Truth shall make me free. So there you have it. Now you know why I believe the way that I believe. It’s because I ask God every day that I may know His truth so He may set me free from my sins and so I may follow Him. I believe his Words do you my friends? His sheep hear His Voice… I believe Gods true people are in all the Churches but the time is coming when He will call His followers out to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

God bless you all.

You think it is still to be kept 'to the letter ? that is OT thinking and long gone.
We now worship 'in spirit which allows for much 'GOOD works of GOD to be done ...have a look at NT teaching....and if you walk with Jesus 24/7 and keep the sabbath you will learn all that making you into a 'new man of God 2Tim 3v16,17.

Hi Beta so nice to meet you. Thank you it is part of my testimony as to how I am getting to know Jesus everyday. I am getting to know Him more and more everyday and this is my prayer for everyone here at CC. For God so loved us that He is not willing to lose any of us and that we should all come to repentance and be saved. To Him who loved us and washed us in His own blood, to Him be the power and the glory forever and ever. AMEN

God bless you

Hello Grace777,

Sharing God's Word with you is not being deceitful just because you do not believe what has been presented. All I am saying is to take it to God in prayer and study God's Word for yourself. God wants to be your teacher (John 14:26). It is misinformation to say I am against the Gospel. Far from it. The real Gospel includes the law of God because it shows us that we are sinners in need of a Saviour. Like as has been shown earlier through God's Word, the Sabbath commandment (Ex 20:8-11) your talking about is from God's Law and not the laws of Moses.

God bless you my friend
Good day my friend,

Now that I see what sect you are coming from - I understand why you say the things you do and why you refuse to believe that the 10 commandments are the law of Moses despite Paul telling us that "coveting" is in the Law. Rom. 7:7

Well - unless "coveting" got kicked out of the 10 commandments because it was caught "coveting". Did coveting get booted out of the 10 commandments?

You might be interested in a member here ( sparkman ) that was in a similar sect before and now he refutes this Sabbath keeping for the replacement of Christ Himself.

Here is one of his threads exposing Sabbath Keeping verses true Christian belief in Christ.

http://christianchat.com/bible-disc...like-hebrew-root-movement-messianic-jews.html

Here is one about Judaizers that try to get Christians to live by the law of Moses which to them is the 10 commandments in real life.

http://christianchat.com/bible-disc...ricks-understanding-their-logical-errors.html

I encourage you to go have a look at his threads as they expose this sect for what is really going on.

The Lord will be faithful to you to reveal His true self and freedom in His finished work on the cross and resurrection.

Have a great day!

Paul who knew the law better then anyone had this to say about the purpose of the law.

The purpose of the law was :

1) To reveal our sinful state - Rom 3:20

2) To inflame sin - Rom 7:8

3) To minister death in us - Rom 7:10-11

4) To lead us to Christ - Gal 3:24

The law is good, holy and spiritual but we are in the flesh. Jesus fulfilled all the law! When we read the law we should be seeing Jesus in it. Jesus did not save us so that we could go back to the law.

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is how we live now, and the law of liberty in Christ Jesus and the law of love, the law of faith ( the Law is NOT of faith - the just shall live by faith ). The law of Christ - Himself is how we live now.

But the purpose of the law was not for righteousness or salvation at all, it was to manifest sin in our lives, so that the purpose of grace which is in Jesus is to manifest salvation.
Grace does not set aside the law, but completely satisfied it.

Christiansare dead to the Law, been released from the Law and are NOT under the Law. It can't get any plainer than that.

People are free to do whatever they want in relation to the Law - it does not make one righteous nor is it for salvation.

If someone wants to observe a particular day like a sabbath, festivals or eat or not eat some kinds of foods..etc - then they are free to do so. These have no bearing on one's salvation or righteousness as all that is based on the finished work of Christ.

It's where people are saying "You must observe these things or do these things in the Law or you are not obeying God" - that's where the twisting comes in and it is a perversion of the gospel of the grace of Christ.

This is an anti-Christ belief system religion which has the "appearance" of good but it is really denying the Lord Jesus Christ's finished work. Hebrews 4:10

We will not desert our Lord for going back to live from the law and commit spiritual adultery. We live by His life in and through us. Jesus is our true Sabbath rest and all of creation speaks of Christ Himself.

yup. The Law was designed to make us accountable to God.

otherwise you could just shoot your neighbour, shrug your shoulders, and say 'Who cares?, there's no Law against it.'

Anybody in Christ is directly accountable to Christ. The Law then becomes unnecessary, like a bionic suit which is really only needed for a disabled person.

Amen! We need the law for the world as it does have a purpose. The law is not for the righteous and we are the righteous ones in Christ. If we would just preach and teach the gospel of the grace of God in Christ - all this law of Moses stuff would be put in it's proper place instead of trying to get Christians to desert their Lord.

1 Timothy 1:8-9 (KJV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

[SUP]9 [/SUP] Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

Paul told the Galatians that when the Judaizers came to pervert the gospel by their saying "we need to keep the law" - Paul called it a form of "witchcraft - Who bewitched you?"

Galatians 3:1-2 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified?

[SUP]2 [/SUP] This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

When the Judaizers came to the churches in Galatia saying that they needed to be circumcised according to the Law - ( and it was mandated by God Himself to Abraham which was before the law of Moses too - so it looks legitimate on the outside )

Paul said that he did not yield to them for even one hour so that the truth of the gospel will remain. We need to be bold to stand against this type of false teaching that nullifies the grace of God in Christ.

Galatians 2:4-5 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage.

[SUP]5 [/SUP] But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.

You might be interested in a member here (sparkman) that was in a similar sect before and now he refutes this Sabbath keeping for the replacement of Christ Himself.

I encourage you to go have a look at his threads as they expose this sect for what is really going on.

The Lord will be faithful to you to reveal His true self and freedom in His finished work on the cross and resurrection.

Have a great day!
Dear Grace777,

Thank you for your message. With all due respect I like to follow God's Word and study God's Word for myself. I would suggest you do the same rather then believing, copying and pasting other peoples interpretations of God's Words.

So is it time now Grace777 to start attacking the messenger because you cannot attack the message?
Is it because you cannot use God's Word to defend your position in God's Word that you feel you need to do this?
Is it because you can't use God's Word that you feel you need to attack me personally as someone belonging to a "sect" and a judaizer because I believe all of Gods Word?

This is such a pity but God told me this would happen already. After all they did the same to Jesus in His day. They even called our Lord Jesus Beelzebub and accuse our Lord of having a devil and the early Christians as belonging to a sect as well. Jesus tells us in His Word that the same things will happen to those that follow him....

"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. (John 15:24)

Jesus said that these people were blind leaders of the blind and having eyes they see not, having ears they hear not.

Do you know the meaning of all of the above?

God bless you my friend I think I will pray for you.

PS I will not be around much as I have work on but will pop back in when I can. God bless you everyone

This is interesting - we both G777 and I like what you say and yet we are on opposing sides hmmm !
I see it as NEEDING the suit/commandments in order to help us walk because without either we are totally handicapped/lame ...unable even to come to Chist ! Does not the law/commandments bring us to Christ ? so if we reject them how will we get to Him ? perhaps you can throw a little more light on the matter ?
