The Preterist view cannot be sustained without using a very creative stance to the details in revelation. Yes Jesus did predict the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 and one can interpret that as the end of the Old Testament age with the absence of the Temple and ceremonial laws. But where in the Bible or Josephus do you find the seas turning to blood a 200,000000 army from the east and a number of other features mentioned that did not happen in AD70.

It does not say HOW LONG After this .
However that is clearly a reference to ALL THE SAVED OF ALL TIME, FROM ADAM ON. That GREAT MULITUDE includes all THREE groups of Saints: O.T. Saints, N.T. Saints, and Tribulation Saints.
Why don't you read the whole context before you type and make yourself look foolish? They are DEMONS with locust-like and scorpion-like features and characteristics. YOUR illogical LOGIC is what makes people misinterpret verses like:

The Mosque sits entirely in the Court of the Gentiles. You would do well to do the research before you post anything. The Jews are ready to rebuild the Temple as soon as a Peace Treaty is signed to permit the Building of the Temple.

You might be surprised to know that, "taken out of the way" was used by the translators rather then the more common usage of that word that simply meant "be". Put the word "be" in place of "taken out of the way" and it makes a lot more sense. There is nothing taken out of the way, there is a one who restrains until he(Antichrist) be*(comes into existence), and THEN shall the wicked one be revealed.

I agree the "locusts" were bad and were influenced by Satan as evil spirits often infect evil men, but they were really the invading Roman troops of 70 AD. The symbolism for locusts being swarming gentile armies is found in several OT passages including Joel 1-2, Judges 6:5, 7:12; Jeremiah 51:14, 27; and Nahum 3:15.
Locusts are an ancient Canaanite and Biblical metaphor for an invading foreign/Gentile army. This fact appears to explain the similarity between the Hebrew word for “locust,” hargol, and the Arabic word for “troops,” hargal. The similarity between these two words in these neighboring languages implies a common origin to both words and the fact that locusts were likened to troops in ancient Middle Eastern cultures. In Joel 1-2 the Babylonian army of the sixth century B.C. is portrayed as a swarm of locusts.
it is also implicit in the Babylonian Talmud where it is said, “The destruction of Jerusalem [during Israel’s first century war with Rome] came through a Kamza [locust] and a Bar Kamza [son of a locust].” Here one can see that according to the Babylonian Talmud, first century Jerusalem was destroyed by locusts. The reason the Talmud says that Jerusalem was destroyed by locusts is because locusts are a symbol of Gentiles or foreigners. This point is shown in Strong’s Concordance which defines Gentile in the following terms:
#1471 gowy go’-ee rarely (shortened) goy {go’-ee}; apparently from the same root as 1465 (in the sense of meaning); a foreign nation; hence, a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts[.]”

When laying siege to a city, invading forces, much a like a swarm of locusts, will leave the surrounding countryside stripped of food, timber and vegetation in order to feed the war effort. These armies will also often set fire to anything their enemies might find useful as the Romans did when they burned many of the cities and rural areas of Palestine during the Jewish War. Interestingly, locusts “were known to the people of Palestine as ‘burners of the land,’ a phrase derived from the literal meaning of ‘locust.’”
There is an old Arab saying paraphrased by Isbon Beckwith in which locusts are described as having “ a head like a horse, a breast like a lion, feet like a camel, a body like a serpent, and antennae like the hair of a maiden.” The locusts of Revelation 9 with their woman’s hair, lions’ teeth, serpent heads and serpent tails are described somewhat similarly. However, there is much more to the description of the locusts in Revelation 9 than a common Middle Eastern anatomical description of locusts.
In Deu 28, the Lord warns His people that they will suffer the plagues of Egypt if they disobey the commandments He gave them. This is exactly what happened to first century Jerusalem for killing their Messiah. During the 5 month siege of Titus, conditions became so bad within Jerusalem for lack of food and eating bad things, that boils broke out all over those inside.
