Yep.....I agree.........As a retired Machinist that has machined parts for F-18's, F-16's, Harpoon Missiles, the Space Shuttle, B-1 Bomber's, C-4 Transports and companies all over the world I have had my share of educated idiot engineers as well.....obviously NOT all, but some for sure.....

Yes it is in the mind (ain't no devil throwing furniture around my house, thank God)
I listened too a study on spiritual warfare and the teacher made reference to the difference between Law and Grace and that the devil uses the Law to trap and paralyze the believer, after all He can't steal us, that battle is done.
But he fights a different battle and uses the word of God to confuse us into believing a false Gospel. He lies so much and so easily, and He can use that which was meant for good for his benefit.
All of that goes on in our minds.
What our convictions are about what Jesus did for us ! What is forgiveness, what is mercy, what is grace, how far does that reach into our lives?
When we are confused and paralyzed about these things he slows us down, we come under condemnation, we stop speaking about Jesus, because we're not really sure, we become ineffective in our walk. (When I say we, I really mean me)
True works of goodness are reflected by the love of God in us, and if we don't believe and fully embrace that love then we start to strive and struggle to accomplish those things, then we are trapped in our own works based righteousness again.
Almost falling away as it were.
Anyway, I went off on a tangent, what you said reminded me of the war that we really are in with the enemy.

a. There is ONE door concerning biblical salvation
b. The ability to understand the word is based upon a biblical spiritual birth (see a.)
c. A false gospel has no power to save
d. The root of biblical Christianity is BIBLICAL salvation (see a.)
e. If one trusts initial trust is into a false gospel there is NO biblical spiritual birth (see a. and c.)
f. The word of God contains milk thru meat and not all are on the same level of maturity
g. After BIBLICAL SALVATION (see a. and c.) the ability to understand the word is then available (see b.)
h. Those who have been biblically saved (see a. and c.) and our ability to agree on any given subject is based upon the following....
a. Level of Christian maturity
b. Level of understanding
c. Honesty with what is taught or given
d. Level of teaching that one has had (I.E. if those teaching are correct, mature and understand what is taught)
At the end of the day the bible teaches one central truth concerning everything that can be found in the bible....the above will lead ALL to the same conclusions.......IMV!

I can't find the post but Stephen said these words and I think they are true. Even if I read them differently than you did Dcon.

I love this verse so much! It teaches us that we are never going to be good enough to earn heaven-- it's just impossible! NOthing we have to offer will ever suffice to the blood that was shed as our "get-out-of-jail-free-card".
I do think that when we are saved, that there is evidence of our salvation as we begin to reflect Christ more and more. When we are saved, we start to want to serve God, and this changes us day by day. Good works ARE seen, but in no way are they what saves us.

I do not hate the guy or dislike him.....it all comes down to doctrine and perception....maybe my problem is I am straight forward, say what I mean and mean what I say.....I know I am CONTROVERSIAL and blunt with my approach....By God's grace I am what I am and God has called and used many types in his kingdom......the problem with words on a page without seeing facial expression is the speed at which we judge motive and intent.......two cannot walk together unless they be in agreement....any fellowship must have it's basis in the light....we disagree doctrinally and we both feel the need to defend the truth and our position....as do ALL on this site.....I love CC and the people....I hate no one on here and I am sure we all have those who step on our last nerve.....but you know what....Consider JESUS and ALL that he endured for ALL of us regardless of our doctrinal flavor right or wrong....

This is exactly how the enemy works. He also will only deceive you in areas where their are gaps in your Armour or where it is not covering you.

We should talk about the old testament prophets..
I read where God told one to cook his food over human feces....but he convinced God to change the order to animal dung instead.
God definitely knows how to make a statement with His messengers.he uses all different types of people that is why we are all different parts of the Body.
